McKall Denney oh cool but I have to do it 30 minutes before showtime because we are professional ballet school but you have to do the curlers day before and wear overnight and then they will take it out
In some nutcrackers she is called Clara, but sometimes she is called Marie or Maria. In my nutcracker her name is Masha because it is a Russian ballet.
A winter Wonderland! I saw it once performed by our city’s troupe accompanied by our city’s orchestra! It was the greatest thing to see it performed up close and personal! Loved every moment!
RU-vid: 2009: nooooooo 2010:mmm nope 2011:nuh uh 2012:maybe 2013:psst jk 2014:ye no 2015:no 2016:nopeeeee 2017:maybe 2018:soon 2019: YESSSSSS I swear RU-vid be drunk sometimes
When I was 6 I was a mouse in the nutcracker, and I hated the costume so much lmaoo it was itchy and hot. Now almost 7 years later I'm auditioning for the party children and I'm so excited yet nervous yeet yeet
AstroDancer mostly when I’m getting ready for the performances you do see guys putting makeup on cuz of the stage light and to make there face look smoother.
Wow they are young! That’s really cool for my studios nutcracker I think our Clara is in high school so she can do all dem pointe work bc we go on pointe about in middle school and not elementary like some Edit: also for the hair for party scene we have to put our hair in curls and not use the curling iron bc the curl will come out even with hair spray XD and it hurts
It's insane how some girls perform a lead role, such as Clara, at young ages like 11. At my studio, the girls are in high school, so they can perform on pointe, and do more advanced dancing.
It's a different version of the story. Balanchine wanted the students from SAB to be part of the ballet - in fact, he liked to find places for them in several ballets - and he took special time to give them instruction.
Lilly Anderson No, everyone does. It's the same with theater. All of the boys in my company, including the older ones, wear make up so they don't look washed out or too pale onstage
Oh gosh! My ballet is required to get our makeup on 1-2 hours before, then we put on our costumes 40 minutes later, we have to wait for 15 minutes and not talk at all so no one has to hear random children talking. For hair we usually wear buns and we have volunteers to put on our makeup, we also usually have the same makeup even bon bons. (I think.) My old dream of being was the rats, for my ballet dance, it’s just fun and you all do the same thing at once. We have 3 parts to be in. The intro rats, mice, and Soldiers just dance (not the battle yet.) then we have the battle. In all I think it’s 5 minutes, the dances are short (most of them.) so there you have it, my old dream of doing, and what to wear. Thanks for reading
This year I am in he nutcracker I dance party girls, snow, and flowers it is my first time and I am so excited I think I'll do great, well wish me luck 😀
At my ballet studio we do A Christmas Carol and this year I get to go from having a pretty dress and nice makeup to a dead poor kid style fun fact in 2017 parts of the show were on the news because we were the first performance after the stage we use was redone
At my studio it's not professional but we have professional guest people for the uh... I don't know what they are called. It's a guy and a girl and we have a live orchestra which apperently not very many places even professional have... This year I am a Young Lady(Party Girl), Big Mouse(we have Baby Mice, Big Mice and the king Mouse), and a lady of the court(which is in the same scene as angels and stuffs like that)...
I just saw a comment on this since it's old, and I've changed studios since then 😂. This year I got to be the grandma in the party scene, a snowflake, and I got to do Chinese 😊
+Mundo no Mar Doesn't had to do with Balanchine. In the Original form E.T.A Hoffman Theres the Name Marie / Masha in the Russian Ballet version. Clara and Friedrich were the children of a Friend of Hoffman which were his Inspiration for Fritz and Marie
I always get so sad once the nutcracker is over. Gone are fun times with my friends and gone is fancy costumes. Gone is makeuo and hair and back to the same old routine
Did they perform this with the Miami city ballet company because I saw the Nutcracker exactly like this also isn't the main character the girl named CLARA
We are required to do our make up 10 minutes for the warmup which is 5-10 minutes before our production change our hair for the dances and costumes under 5-3 minutes they dances are very close together!r We have to that under 25-30 minutes
I was in the Nutcracker. I’m not professional, or a kid, or in New York, heck im not even good. But I was in the Nutcracker in a small town and to be honest it looked a lot like this but everything looked less professional lol.
Is this ABT nutcracker…. Or SAB bc the ABT costumes are pretty different from these. And in ABT, there are no child mice or candy canes. There also is no bed. I could be wrong tho and no sled at end…..
