What a heck of a sunrise photoshoot this was in Hawaii! I've been wanting to photograph in this secret location for a year and we were finally able to make it happen. I didn't go into this photoshoot with a plan to teach you anything specific. I just wanted to give you an idea of why I chose certain outfits or different lighting situations. I hope this helps you get inside my mind of an outdoor behind the scenes photoshoot that can help you be a better photographer.

These are just magical. Just transcendent art. Great vid. One thing on a technical note; range masks might be useful when you were working on the water in the edit. I know some people aren't into them but because she was much darker than the water data I feel you could use a range/luminosity mask to hit the highs with more precision and less local haloing from gradients. Seriously incredible shots though

Any thought to having another channel to showcase the more "sensitive" materials pertaining to the art? Or having a section of videos here that would allow viewers to accept the sensitive content before being able to go forth and watch? May or may not have any benefit or be worth the effort for you, just an idea. Love that you can bring information, personality, and good content without going "below the bar". Cheers

Hey Michael, being a guy photographer, when it comes to photographing clients (not models) in sext gear like that white top for example, do you supply the clothing or have the client to have them?. I ask this, for if you supply it, you must have thousands of different size womens clothing. I bought a few but due to women's sizes being all different, I simply can't go buying more and more and even if I did, it may not fit the clients size. So how do you do it with all the clothing for models but more so the clients ??
@MichaelSasser
@MichaelSasser 4 года назад
I don't shoot enough volume for it to make sense for me to have a lot of different outfits for them. But you dont need thousands, you need probably 3 of each, and let the clients know what sizes you have so that they know if it will fit them or if they need to bring their own. Ask some women what they recommend.

when I read on the internet then it always recommends using lens hoods. Now I see a lot of youtube photographers not using it. What is the reaon for you to not use a lens hood even when on the sea and with lots of sun?
@MichaelSasser
@MichaelSasser 4 года назад
I don't think lens hoods are a big deal. They are there to block the sun from hitting your lens, but I like lens flare and I think it adds to the images so I don't try to block it.

What I almost NEVER see or hear is anyone talking about where or how they make any money from doing shoots like this one. Everyone and their brother is on here showing shoots on location at some beautiful spot on the globe, selling info on how to light them, how to choose your lens, posing guides, anything and everything you can think of EXCEPT for information on who we can sell such images TO and how to make contacts who will make doing this profitable. Locally advertising for boudoir or other types of shoots where you are charging the client to be the one in front of the camera is all well and good, but shoots like this which require professional models who look the part and actually know how to pose and do their part... that is a whole other story. So aside from being out of pocket to shoot stuff like this and simply HOPING you can find a buyer for the images later as stock photos, how to do find clients to pay for a shoot like this and buy the images ahead of time?
@MichaelSasser
@MichaelSasser 4 года назад
Great question! Personally, I don't do shoots like this to sell these pictures. I do it because its fun and beautiful and I get to share it with all of you. I earn from my boudoir photoshoots. which typically take place inside, and the marketing for that could be a million different things. You could offer something like this to a woman who is interested in shooting outside the box, but I imagine that is more rare for the people willing to spend what I typically charge. IF I wanted to do shoots like these for money, I would probably target local models, or people traveling here who could book through airbnb experiences or something.

Because compress means to bring things closer together, and that is the visual effect that results from a more narrow field of view.
