Man I love this! I loved seeing the lady cut the aa textured hair. Hair is hair and she was killing it! Those stylist are amazing.

Sassoon in cut-price salon drive By MARTIN DELGADO FOR THE MAIL ON SUNDAY UPDATED: 19:00 EST, 21 December 2002 View comments A CHAIN of cut-price Vidal Sassoon salons is to be opened in Britain by an American company that wants to cash in on the most famous name in hairdressing. The no-frills High Street salons will offer a cut, shampoo and blow-dry for as little as £20 - compared with at least £100 for an appointment with a top Sassoon stylist in some areas of London. Regis Corporation, the US hair-care giant that bought the company last week for an undisclosed sum, wants to emulate the success of outfits such as Toni & Guy that have surged ahead in recent years, leaving the once revered name of the swinging Sixties' greatest hairdresser in something of a backwater. The deal to sell 25 salons and four beauty academies has made multi-millionaires of Phillip Rogers - Sassoon's former apprentice - and partner Annie Humphreys, who acquired the business in a management buyout in 1983. Fifteen new Sassoon studios will open over the next five years in High Street locations where rents are low enough to keep costs to a minimum. Following the example of budget airlines, they will offer a simple service without the pampering, cups of coffee and expensive decor familiar to customers of other salons. Analysts say the risk is that the Sassoon name - associated for 40 years with elegance and glamour - will become devalued. But insiders agree that something must be done to restore the company's fortunes. The 11 British salons have lost clients and stylists, including Tyler Johnston, hairdresser to David and Victoria Beckham, and Josh Woods who took his clients Jerry Hall and Elle Macpherson with him to a new salon. Sassoon, born in London's East End, made his name in 1963 when he created a short bob for fashion designer Mary Quant. His reputation soared even higher five years later when he gave actress Mia Farrow a trim on the set of the film Rosemary's Baby. Sassoon, 74, is retired and spends most of his time at his home on the West Coast of America where he lives with his wife, Ronnie. Randy Pearce, Regis Corporation's executive vice-president and chief financial officer, said: 'There will be more salons, but it's not going to be like McDonald's with a Vidal Sassoon salon on every street corner.' The Vidal Sassoon hair products business, which is owned by Procter & Gamble, is unaffected by the deal.
