From our personal archives, here's a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the 'Someday' video....
This was shot entirely in Toronto and was the second video of ours directed by the late, great, wacky, Storm Thorgenson, who is best known for closely working with the group Pink Floyd through most of their career. His design for The Dark Side Of The Moon, has been called one of the greatest album covers of all time. Storm was an eccentric, dramatic, flamboyant, character who had no problem “acting out” exactly what he wanted from the band and the “extras” on-set. One thing that left us howling was the now, classic moment, where Alan in his pink t-shirt that Glass Tiger fans remember well, sort of, dances along with the two beautiful “background singers.” The performance that Storm put on to show these girls (and Alan) how to “shimmy & shake” would have put the Radio City Music Hall, Rockettes to shame! Ok, not quite…they’d probably have been doubled over in laughter like the rest of us. Suffice to say, he was quite the character and we loved every minute with him. If you didn’t know him before working with him, you’d never have forgotten him after you worked with him. 🤣 Sadly, our industry lost Mr Thorgenson in 2013, at the age of 69.

Glass Tiger Biography:
It all began in the summer of 1984 when a band from Newmarket, Ontario called Tokyo spent two evenings opening for Boy George and Culture Club at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens. Their dynamic, original sound captured the moment of the mid 80’s and led them to signing a record deal with Capitol Records. Tokyo officially became Glass Tiger.
Glass Tiger’s first album The Thin Red Line set a record for being the fastest selling debut recording in Canadian history, going gold within weeks of its release. Following this, the bands next two albums Diamond Sun and Simple Mission, solidified their reputation as being one of Canada’s better song crafters. Having toured with international music legends like Tina Turner in Europe, the ever popular Journey (with Steve Perry) in America and Roxette throughout Europe and Canada, Glass Tiger is still going strong, 33 years later.
Glass Tiger has released their fifth studio album 33 in 2019. Produced by Sam Reid and UK singer-songwriter Andrew Cole, 33 is an unapologetically raw, mature, eclectic, statement that states simply, “This is who we are today and this is how we see the world around us.”
