WOW!! It’s been more than 45 years since my introduction to aviation and learning to fly in a T34B at Saufley Field in Pensacola as a physician in Flight Surgeon School (Class of 12/‘73) at Naval Aerospace Medical Institute, NAS Pensacola. Brings back fond memories
I have always liked the look and sound of the T34. While in the Navy, and serving as an Aerographer's Mate (weather forecaster) at NAS Fallon ('84-'88), from time to time a T34-C or two would come through. At the time, I was a lapsed civilian private pilot. The "Mentor" was one airplane that I truly thought I could jump into and fly. Thanks for featuring this fine trainer. Question - Is there an exhibit on the Intrepid featuring the "Weather Guessers," or Aerographer's Mates?

When I was eleven (1966), my dad took my mom, older sister and I up separately three weekends in a row. I was first. He did a stall and a spin. That night at dinner, mom and sister said they’d go up as long as dad didn’t do anything fancy. It’s a memory I’ll never forget. Let me know if I remember this part correctly. I had to push a button on top of the stick to be able to talk to dad in front.
We had two of these from the Navy, at Quantico, VA Aeroclub back in the 70's and 80s when I was flying. Very forgiving aircraft to fly, and what memories flood back, from watching this video. Thanks for posting the video, and reviving the memories. 👍👍
Eric, great job with the video! Well done sir, you are a natural whether it be speaking to a crowd or in front of a camera. That T 34 is in pretty good shape, I remember when you guys had received it. Again.....nice job.
