Julia Davis there has! It’s called code switching. We all code switch but you likely sound less southern when you’re talking to a YANKEE so that you sound “normal” and go southern w a southerner so that you don’t sound like a DAMN YANKEE (I am a yankee from southeastern PA)

Matt Libra absolutely! I forget where I read a something about this mentality. Often when poorer people get things, they know it’s fleeting or valuable and could help someone else so they use what they need and give to others. Community survival is real. I know it’s like, lipstick and a dress here but it’s similar. She has what she needs and the money to get more and she knows it’ll matter more to brittany to have something from her than it does to her to keep it. We love.

@@vocexseta it's honestly just initiating a conversation for me - i'm a part-time chem/phys tutor so it's gradually gotten easier because i eventually get comfortable with my students after a period of time, though i've always had trouble keeping my anxiety at bay & struggling to not let it hinder my social ability when introduced to someone i'm unfamiliar with

@@vocexseta but your advice most definitely reigns true - i used to overanalyze every single interaction i engaged in on the daily & generally was just very self-conscious of my social perception. it took me YEARS to realize and acknowledge the reality that people literally don't care / are probably already too far indulged into how i (or someone else) may be perceiving them to even give a damn about me.

So a lot of people now address Trixie as Tracy Martell, especially her close friends. Katya (her close friend and business partner, co-host on UNHhhh) often addresses Trixie by multiple names based off of the initials TM in addition to Tracy Martell, for example Tallulah Maraschino and Toby Maguire.
