No matter how much he played up the heel angle, no matter how many insults he hurled at the audience, and no matter how much you hated him, you absolutely had to respect how much talent and ability he brought to the ring. One of the best, in my opinion.
I met Rick Rude at a Tri-state show in Philadelphia along with Dory Funk Jr. and Jerry Lawler. My friends car battery died and we were looking for a payphone to call AAA. Rick said don't worry about it and drove us to our car and gave us a jump start. Real classy guy definitely not like his character! RIP Rick.
"What I'm gonna need now is for all you overweight ,out of shape inner city sweathogs to pipe down so the ladies can get what they came to see HIT THE MUISC " Classic Rude R.I.P
My favorite line from Rick Rude while doing commentary on ECW TV was “Francine can’t wrestle a lick, but you should see her box!” RIP to one of the all-time greats.
Back then there was fewer titles changes so fewer talent got the belt.Jinder Mahal was a joke champion I’m torn about Kofi on one hand he is a great wrestler on the other hand he could have filled SD Jones role in the 80s he doesn’t have the look of a wrestling champion. He is small and kind of dorky.
The night of the Montreal Screwjob, after the match Rude stayed with Bret in his locker room. Stayed Loyal to his Homie till the end. Rick was a real one!
He had it all. The physique, the agility, the mic work, and was hell of a worker and a tough SOB apparently too. If he hadn't died and actually made his comeback to wrestling I have no doubt he'd have a huge career renaissance like Shawn Michaels did. RIP Ravishing Rick Rude
Rude Was to me the greatest Heel in the 80's I was a HUGE Ultimate Warrior fan and Rude made him look like a million bucks in every match!! Rude your truly missed I hope you and Warrior are having one he'll of a match upstairs with Heenan in your corner..
@@markedwin3740 Absolutely I own ever Warrior released blurays and dvd sets and I was just watching their matches earlier today amazed at how Rude took all those bumps and made Warrior look invincible
Mike Sharon even his bumps had snap. He was so great with Warrior. I think, in the WWF at the time, only Hennig and Hart could’ve given Warrior the rub like that.
Mike Sharon by the way: cool that you’ve got the DVDs. Good choice. I only have Perfect’s DVD from that time. As a side note: the best match on the Perfect DVD is him vs Bockwinkel.
My favorite wrestler of all time! He had it all... looks, attitude, strength and skill. If he's not your favorite wrestler, you have to admit he's one of your favorite heels.
Died at 40? Damn!! I first saw him when I was probably 6, I'm 42 now, and I literally thought he was bulletproof, bigger than life, super human even. Rest well Rude One.
Considering his friendship with Bret, If he were alive today, I'd ask Rude how much he didn't get along with Shawn Michaels and how difficult it was to associate with DX.
@@TedBronson1918 wrestlingnews.co/wwe-news/rick-rudes-son-killed-in-motorcycle-accident/ motorcycle accident, 2016 - very, very sad - kid was only 19. It's a shame wrestling history has alot of tragedy in it.
WWF in the 80's and early 90's was really something special and Ravishing Rick Rude was a big part of that. It's so crazy to me that the last time he wrestled was in 1994 and that he's been gone for so long now. Memories...another great piece here. Peace
Rick Rude was in hindsight probably one of the greatest heels in wrestling. I could not stand him as a kid and hated him, always wanting him to win and his arrogance always wound me up. A great heel
I grew up in the golden era of wrestling & there will never be another era or characters like it :/ I haven’t watched any wrestling since the mid-90s. RIP Ravishing Rick Rude!!!
Rude was awesome I remember him in world class championship wrestling way before he became a wwf wrestler and it sucks when these wrestlers pass away because they give us so many great memories that we will remember for the rest of our lives I hope wrestling can one day retain the magic it has lost
one of the best heels ever, a legend who wrestled everyone, a man who commanded respect in that locker room, the ravishing one.....Rick Rude...... Rip.......
Chris benoit wtf vince guys dead no life in your heart no way he would kill his family. Every one turn back on the rabid one rip chris. Legion of doom best tag team ever rip lod doom on
@@kgbslim8618 Nothing wrong with that I was a huge Mr. Perfect fan Hulk Hogan in my opinion was a bit overrated but Hogan did brought wrestling national so I'll give him credit for that
@@rickyrosay33977 I saw an interview with Hulk Hogan and he said Henning really was perfect. When he would arrive at the gym all the guys there knew he was going to straight dominate everybody on the weights and on the mat, real life not scripted. He was that much of a beast! I don't know why I mean his techniques were awesome and all and how he played heel ....to me he was as Perfect as one could get. He brought it all! Miss seeing him in the ring.
I enjoyed seeing Rick Rude wrestle back in the day I loved the storyline between him and Jake The Snake Roberts! That fight between him and Sting was brutal!
Rick Rude was my favorite heel from the 80's and early 90's. His gimmick was exceptionally heel, but at the same time it was quite comical. He did almost a comedy routine to his matches. The way he would bend his back when he got hit or pretended to be hurt was hilarious and doing shit like having his tights ripped off in the middle of the ring in front of 1000's of fans. He also would put funny characetures of people on his tights to piss people off like Jake Robert's wife. And of course his epic ring entrances with that music and his torments of fat ,lazy, out of shape people in the crowds from each city. The kiss at the end that would make some random woman faint was pretty crazy too. And of course anytime you had Bobby Heenen by your side as your manager their was a whole other comedic aspect to it as well. He was a legend. And to this day hes still my all time favorite heel who ever did it. My dad never liked wrestling. He thought it was stupid and I could never understand why because I thought it was all real. But he definitely got a serious kick out of Ravishing Rick Rude and would laugh and joke with us about him or during a match if we were watching and he was home. So for Rick Rude to be that good at what he was doing to impress my dad who didnt care for WWF was pretty hilarious. There were some others too who I caught my dad enjoying like George "the Animal" Steele, Kamala, Iron Shiek, and JYD too. Not sure why those guys in particular he found so entertaining, but he most definitely did. It's crazy too because he passed away exactly one year after Rick Rude also of a sudden heart attack. I've been waiting for this one. Rick Rude was so underrated. It's a shame that he suffered that terrible back injury. I don't know why they had that elevated platform outside the ring during his final match. Seems like negligence on the promotions part. It makes me wonder how different his life and career would have been if he hadn't suffered that back injury. Maybe he'd still be with us. Very sad.
Thanks for uploading the Behind the Titantron series on the Final Days of "Ravishing" Rick Rude. I'll be waiting for the next episode about the Final Days of Rude's buddy Mr. Perfect. Both Rude and Henning were two of the greatest heels in wrestling history and they sadly died young. RIP Ravishing Rick Rude and Mr. Perfect
@@wwffigureproductions6545 wrestlelamia definitely has been over saturated. Follow them on Instagram you wouldn't think they could come up with something so sophisticated like this
Crazy how fast this chanel went downhill. It's happening all over RU-vid. Glad to see another behind the Titantron instead of the daily dose of TMZ clickbait "news."
I always found Rick Rude funny. He's just chillin there with his intercontinental belt, staring at you through the tv camera lens looking like a strutting tomcat in heat.
Wrong! Warrior wasn't doing Hogan numbers but he was a face, so at least he was selling toys and Warrior face masks from the WWF catalog (I had one of those). Rude was a heel, heel's didn't sell merch, which is why they never held the title for more than a few hours/days/months. And if you're thinking they should have traded the title back and fourth WRONG AGAIN, that just devalued it. This was the time when they could have the EXACT same card at three different cities and nobody would notice as long as it didn't happen on TV. So you are wrong but thanks for trying.
@@right-wing_reactionarychri8798 Of course I do. Rick Rude should have won the title from Warrior and then lose it to Hogan. God, you are such a piece of shit troll. Go troll someone else!
Rick was a huge fisherman would’ve loved going walleye fishing with him in Minnesota listening to some stories and sharing some with him rest in peace ravaging one 🎣🙏🏻
Brilliant episode once again, Ravishing Rick Rude was truly the most underrated wrestlers of all time. I have said before, he was so good he could drew heat from an ice cube R.I.P.
RickyRichReact Rick rude dieing was really shocking, I always liked his character and wanted him to make one final run in the wwf at the height of the attitude era against the rock stone cold Steve austin ect even though I'm not sure if the wwf would have even taken him back had he not died and then a month later Owen hart has his fatal in the ring accident it was tough to be a wrestling fan around this time.
Rude had the most aesthetic upper body of all time. Lugar had the best overall physique, but Rude was insanely ripped. Unbelievable how he could stay in that kind of shape with his travel schedule.
The strip club was called “Cheerleaders “. It was during his 97 brief run . He was tipping left and right. Big Dick Dudley was there also getting lap dances with two girls at a time
Great channel probably the best wrestling one on here Well edited and clearly narrated Covers all aspects Brings back childhood memories so thankyou for your uploads
Rude was my favourite wrestler great body and a really get under your skin kinda mouth He was funny, I used to think he was indistructable Bless his heart RIP rick rude True legend
I had the best childhood ever. My mum bought a bsb before it became sky. Was a triangle dish back in the days. First channel engineer tuned in to was wwf and we was mesmerized and hooked ever since!!!
