In December, 2010, reporters from the Brattleboro Reformer took a tour of the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant in Vernon, Vt. From the control room to the reactor building, this video aims to show people, who may not normally be able to tour the plant, some of the things going on behind its walls. 02/17/11

Is there some kind of international agreement that nuclear power stations must be painted a dismal green and be poorly lit?

Correct, Vermont Yankee and Fukushima Daiichi are both GE Mark I BWR-4's. VY however keeps all of their safety systems and EDGs(Emergency Diesels) inside of the plant, away from the elements unlike Fukushima.

Just applied for a engineer position at that particular plant. Hopefully she will be able to operate in the future.

This is the plant that Homer Simpson worked at since the the first showing of the movie “The Simpson’s” occurred in Springfield, Vt.
