As internal discussions about President Joe Biden's 2024 candidacy intensify among Democratic party insiders, with some beginning to publicly dissent, there is a concerted effort to support Vice President Kamala Harris as the frontrunner in a potential post-Biden Democratic primary.

Rather than focusing on enforcement, which might have alienated her progressive supporters, she traveled extensively to Central and South America to address the "root causes" of immigration. Meanwhile, record numbers of illegal immigrants continued to enter the U.S.
However, Harris appears to have gained traction among left-wing media and progressive activists by touring the country to highlight the risks to abortion rights posed by a potential second Trump term.
Despite Biden's assertions that he is not stepping down, a memo advocating for Harris’s candidacy circulated among Democratic operatives last weekend. The memo outlines Harris's perceived democratic legitimacy and electoral strengths relative to Biden, particularly in light of the current crisis of confidence within the party.
