Tutorial on creating an Acid sounding patch on the Behringer Crave. Here we go through the controls that a TB-303 or TD-3 has and show how these can be duplicated on the Crave. We also show how some of the limitations of the Crave that would seem to make creating an Acid style patch can be worked around using the assign output and the VCMix control.

Good, I try and make these tutorials quite simple and useful and explain a bit about why things work, not just do this and then that. If you understand why things work you can apply it to other bits of kit.

Very original tutorial! The Crave is a very basic but interesting synth (interesting because basic!) and that's very cool how you make it acid. That's a patch guide that can be used on many other synths indeed!

Cheers man, I like to think I show why something works so that people understand what's going on, not just the mechanics of how to do something. If you understand something then as you say it can be applied to other synths. The assign output can be a really useful tool on the Crave.

Great tutorial 👍 I'll have a look how my TD-3 might benefit from the sound colors&shapes the Crave produces if they play together. I like those limited & simple analog synths (especially of Behringer) so much. They are huge fun & they help at least me to learn more about synthesis & making music with limited possibilities which I think is great learning experience.

The step sequencing echo you mention at the end is fixed in a firmware update. It'# does change the config menu layout (using the LEDs to navigate) and isn't very well documented though...

Awesome video Doc!👍 I love that you showed how to make the "Crave" sound like a "303". I always wonder that since I heard it had "accent" in it sequencer. Speaking of which? I just got my "Behringer td-3" in (red) last week and I've made 2 tracks so far with it. I don't know if I told you yet? But I also got the Korg "volca drum" I'm still a bit off to master it but I'm liking what I do with it keep up the great videos brother, I'll keep watching them!✌

Appreciated mate. Yeah the TD-3 is a great bit of kit, I love the random sequence generate function for doing live stuff. I still haven't got a volca of any type yet, but I will one day. I'll keep the videos coming, no need to worry, I need the practice

Can you make the accent stronger (/less) ?

No as far as I can recall the accent is either on or off the way to give it more emphasis is using the patching trick, outputting the assign through the VC mix like I show at the end of the video.
