@@AntonAnru how do you feel about DFAM/MOTHER32 vs Edge/Crave? Any thoughts? I know that the Moog models are much more pleasurable to the touch, but sound-wise? I trust the opinion of one such as yourself! I'm also anticipating the release of Behringer Spice.. I'll be purchasing your Edge pack on payday!
Well done, have been considering getting one of these, to with the Neutron and Crave already have here. It might be a bit more useful to have clearer shots showing some of the patch cord placements, but excellent example demo, thanks for posting.

not all, I mention this in the intro titles. Edge sounds are labeled with pink tag. most demos start with pure Edge sound/timbre. than I add third-party samples, drums or pads, they are labeled with gray tag. so you may distinguish between edge and samles
Forgive my ignorance, how does one go about programming these beats? I don't see a step sequencer, pads, or dedicated Bass, Snare Hi Hat buttons. Could this machine do anything besides 4 on the Floor? Breakbeats perhaps? Thanks!
Ah man this is so good, lots of Hypnus Records / Minilogue type sounds, I really didn't need encouragement in getting one of these, I'm saving for other things... Just stop it!! 😂

I make edge sounds labels pink, and third-party sounds - grey. in the very first demo edge produces the synth heard from the beginning. others - samples
Are all these sounds from the Edge? More specifically from one take with the edge (not layered tracks)? Edit: someone else asked. Gray are other samples, purple is edge.
@@AntonAnru Hi. Yes, i have a chain, daw to rd9, rd9 to pro 1, pro 1 to neutron, and neutron to edge. Everything works fine ecept the edge. Tried all 3 clock positions on the switch, and sequencer just wont roll.
@@AntonAnru Yesss! It was the chain, either pro 1 or the neutron didnt send the clock correctly. Now i got it after the rd 9 before those two and it works perfectly. Thanks dude! Btw, i bought the edge after i fell in love with this video you made, you totally nailed it. Behringer should take you as their marketing director after this one.
@@AntonAnru I see. Thank you for the response and your wonderful video. I did find something called the “DFAM Thing” that claims it should also work for the Edge. I wonder what kind of CV signals it is sending in order to make that happen…
@@YnnebYeliab I have the DFAM Thing. It's a neat little device that allows you to do also a lot of other stuff like reverse/pingpong the sequence or play each step as MIDI notes. I use it mainly to sync my DFAM to my DAW, so that it starts playing from step 1 whenever I hit play. (There's no built-in reset functionality nor MIDI in the DFAM, dunno about the Edge.) You can do most of the stuff just with Advance patched out (it is very clever), but it also has a Run/Stop Out patch point for some functionality (I forget what) and a Trigger & Reset in. I haven't tried the additional 1-8 steps, but you need to create those using the Thing.

I prefer originals. Dfam is a piece of art. Edge sound is close to dfam. But it's filter doesn't produce the overtones found in Moog when the filter is overdriven. Besides this, edge sounds similar. Tactile feel is much better on Moog
Edge: CEM, 2 noise types, shorter ENVs, MIDI/USB/clock-divider/MIDI velocity, ect, can't be euroracked from the box. I heard there a kit you can get, never looked into myself. Obviously it borrowed heavy from Moog in functionality but it has different VCF/VCO/ENV so not a clone exactly, more like another take on it.
I'd bought the DFAM one when I first got my Edge, besides the images being made specifically for the Edge and easier to read, is there a reason to have both?
in general, you may work with the DFAM patches. in 90% of cases the DFAM patches will work on EDGE well. they need some adjustments in filter cutoff or decays. if you can figure it out - then there's no way to get the second patch book. some presets demanded more adjustments
what you guys think... i got this thing and on short attacks with darker sound the clicks drive me crazy ... why must so many analog devices so clicky, my xoxbox fucked me up with that already 😩
do you mean clicks in low-frequency timbres, like soft bass? it's a widespread thing and doesn't connected with analog or whatever. most synths, including vsts have this. this is a standard situation for low-frequency timbres. unless you add attack. some vsts also introduce de-clicker.
@@AntonAnru hm even vst do this? 🤔 idk when you wanna build a nice dark soft timbre and want to bring some punch into it this clicking appear makes some devices just useless for some certain sounds. imagine you put some reverb on a dark soft timbre and this high clicks went through it also 😱 clicking devices are just pure horror for sounddesign
@@AntonAnru i recognize mostly on the triangle waveform in a low frequeny with shorter decay. and that sucks because shorter decay what is needed for more percussive, is that just my device or is yours behave like that also? i readed about that twice already somewhere..
@yukuzoona6604 i understand you. I don't like click when i don't need them. But in certain situations on many synths they are inevitable. I didn't find anything extraordinary bad from this point of view on edge
Exactly. Sine/tri at low frequency will produce a click on most synths. This happens as gate is open at a random waveform phase. If a synth has a phase reset, this may decrease the click. Additionally, e.g. u-he zebra has de-clicker. But many/most analog synths have free running oscs, causing that clicks

Nice jam! In Germany we call this misleading ad…in other words they call it scam (who can Match your colored hints with Sounds?) @all others: please be aware before you buy and check what you Are paying for
you overestimate your role. people usually read the description or ask questions here in the comments or via email. I tried to give a transparent description on how the demo is made, didn't hide anything. the text is in the video and in the caption. you understand how it works, why do you think other people don't? i haven't received any claims or reports since the start of the sales. but i got lots of positive feedbacks. meanwhile you'are calling me a scammer. how do you call a windbag in Germany?
He starts off with the Edge only which gives a clear indication of what it can do. He then adds one or two other non-Edge sounds which personally I find helpful for inspiration. There is clearly no intent to mislead. Don't be so silly.
that's that easy to say: make good stuff for us for free. could you give me a link with your 50 free patches for Edge? let's check your support. you may also say that for all plugins, daws developers. why the h... they don't support us and don't make everything free? if i tried making these things free, i'd work in McDonalds in a month to earn money. and in this case, these videos/patches would never appear, as I won't have time for making them
