At the National #SpeedSkating Oval, Bart Swings won #Belgium's first winter Olympic #gold medal in 74 years after crossing the line first in the men's mass start. South Korea's Chung Jae-won took silver 0.07 seconds behind. Another South Korean, defending champion Lee Seung-hoon closely follows to win bronze. China's Ning Zhongyan finished 12th in the 16-lap race.

Belgium's best Winter Games campaign. Also the best Winter Games campaigns for Team New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Australia, Estonia, Spain, Slovenia, France and Austria... even Team USA as well.

As an athlete and coach for some 42 years now, I’m proud that I never watched one minute of live action from the genocide Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. I did not want to see which sponsors were there selling their wares under such conditions. I’ve been able to keep up with what’s going on in sport by watching the CBC nightly news and by watching the CBC website on RU-vid. The newspaper heading I would love to see would be “CLOSING CEREMONIES IN BEIJING CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF VIEWERSHIP”…..to the CCP I say: “The whole worlds NOT watching!”
