It was an honor to have you speak to our class on zoom (south bay school district). All of our students can connect to everything you said! you are very inspirational... thank you for sharing your story with us!
So cool ! I am majoring in Electrical Engineer (Power Electronics specifically) and setting my career goal to work for NASA as well. Thank you for sharing this.
Keep it up Kat, you’re videos are so so soo inspiring!! I’m currently working at a hospital but I’m considering also to attend a University to became a Data Scientists 🤗 Thank you so much by sharing your story!!
Thank you Working at NASA can be a very flexible job where, where you can change the role of your work into something else related can be a thing since you aren't bound to your degree from university. In NASA everyone is very welcoming and you will feel like you belong there.
Hey Kat! I am a rising senior in HS, and I am interested in the space industry. I definitely want to go into engineering in college and I was just wondering what type of extracurriculars you did in college along your major of EE! Thank you for being one of my inspirations!!
hey! I'm not Kat, but currently am an EE major at GaTech. in terms of extracurriculars, I'm in Yellow Jacket Space Program (YJSP) which is building a liquid fuel rocket that will reach 100km. we're trying to become the first collegiate team to do so. it's an exciting project, and I'm so thankful to be a part of it. our members go on to intern and work for cool places like JPL, SpaceX, Hermeus, etc. many other colleges have clubs with similar goals. I know MASA at Michigan is actually planning to launch their fullscale liquid propellant vehicle this fall and they are a super cool rocket team. I haven't looked much into other college rocket clubs yet, but I know there are many. I assume you're currently researching and applying to colleges, make sure you take a look at their rocket clubs or maybe even car/plane clubs. for example, GaTech has super cool clubs like HyTech Racing which builds a formula racing car that competes annually against other colleges, Solar Racing which builds a fully solar powered car, Medical Robotics, Robojackets, etc. each club/team usually has a website or social media page. make sure you check those out and see what excites you. and apply to the colleges where these cool things are happening!! and after you join these clubs put in a decent amount of time because what you put in is what you get out of it. but you will for sure have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and design, build, test things that work! best of luck on your engineering journey - you'll be doing great things with passion and perseverance :)
another motivation and excited video. i am watching the video in my way to home after collecting data day for my project and i feel now i want to design and start new project 😅 thank you so much🥰🥰🥰
Just came across your videos. You have such a cool career congrats on your achievements. I'm not an engineer but I am an industrial electrician in the oil field working on 480, 240, and 120v systems and its so satisfying to finish a job from start to finish and giving power to systems to operate and to be able to look at your work and be like yeah me and my team did that is such a good feeling keep up the good work and keep being an inspiration to others god bless and may you have much love and wealth come your way
I just seen your tik tok and I just discovered your RU-vid chanel honestly such an inspiration!!…. I myself am a space lover ever since I was a little girl I was always so interested in space always jotting down news about space and writing reports on space just for fun however I didn’t get the guidance to pursue this career but seeing how you did it’s beautiful ☺️ I’m still so in love with space and NASA and feel so proud of seeing a Latina going to space congratulations 🎉 this is huge not only for our Latina community but us women thank you for pursuing your dream ☺️
Can you please talk about the outfits you wear at work? The outfits you wear are so cute!; which is why I wanted to ask if there are any certain clothes you’re supposed to wear, or if you’re not, what clothes do u know u should wear. SORRY i stress over the little things. Like I don’t want to wear something that’s cute but then look at what everyone else is wearing and feel overdressed
Hi Kat! I'm a rising junior in highschool who is interested in going into the space industry, but don't exactly know what I want to major/specify in. Do you have any suggestions? Ive been considering aerospace engineering as well as astrobiology, both of which interest me. I am unsure on how to get to being an astrobiologist at NASA, and don't know if aerospace engineering applies more to airplanes than to spacecrafts. Do you have any insight on the topic?
Do you still work at JPL? I just started, a week in and can say.. I love being there. Wanted to say hi if you're still here. Looking forward to your next video post. 🚀
Hi ! I'm a high school students, I always wanted to become an astronaut, but now I'm nterested in programming, artificial intelligence, and even business and many other things... , but I don’t know what I will choose now want to know if u guys passed the same period in your life and if u are happy in the choice you made , and what I should to do !!
I always wanted to know how they deal with classified info. Like, how you gain more access, do you have to have a special card or is it like a envelope or both, what happens if you break the rules. You know, reality vs the movies.
Hi Kat, hope is not too late for my question. My son is a freshman at University of Florida Aerospace Engineering and I want to know how hard it is for him to get an internship at a good and job related company like NASA. What do you recommend him to do for this summer, to apply, or to wait for the next school year. School counselors told them that only juniors and seniors have more chances to be accepted! As a parent I will be very interested to find your opinion. Thank you
Hi, my name is Abel and I'm 14 years old. I want to be a NASA engineer when I grow up. Is that worth it to learn engineer this days? Because now we have AI and all of that stuff that can replace engineers and programmers. What do you think about it? Should I continue?
Hi Kat, I love your videos. I have a question from you. I am currently studying computer science and in a few years I will have to go to hardware or software and I want to work in NASA. I'm really scared and I don't know which way to go. can you help me ؟
I’m a sophomore in high school looking into to engineering. Where should I even start? What classes do I take? I just started looking into engineering so I’m totally lost Also how good at math do you have to be? Lol, cuz that’s not my greatest subject
Woulda been nice if you described how got to this point in life. Like do I need a phd? Do I even need to go to college (yes I know you do but just using it as a point). It’s suggested that’s easier to get into Harvard then nase.
Yes. Mechanical engineers can work in pretty much any industry that deals with machines. They can work in medical technology, automobile industry, aerospace industry etc.
No veo que diga sobre que nació en México y sus orígenes Se que tiene nacionalidad norteamericana, pero es nacida en México con nacionalidad compartida.Hablas muy bien ingles pero el español también,no olvides tus origenes
