The defendant did great, it was mold and grime, easy to clean up. The cleaning person did marvelous work on the tub and shower.

I think the plantiff is sue happy. He mentioned in the beginning that he had a workers comp case and lost his insurance. Which means he lost his case against the state when he was trying to sue.

A hospital where I was working had mold growing in it, and staff members were repeatedly getting ill. Symptoms included headaches, fatigue, unusual throat, and lung illnesses. Unfortunately when OSHA tested they checked the air conditioning air, and not the air in the work area.

I completely believe there is mold in that apartment that was affecting his health. It's too bad he wasn't able to get medical documentation, but I understand his reasons. One more casualty of the crappy American healthcare system.

It’s true that someone more susceptible to mold exposure is more likely to come down with serious illnesses. I am highly allergic to mold, and was ill to the point of missing work, and getting hospitalized because of the mold in my workplace. Other employees became ill to different degrees as well.

At my brother's house one of the bathrooms, his 8yr old son, the shower wall had a crack which water was getting behind the plastic shower stall. We took it out and there was mold on the sheet rock. I cleaned the surface with bleach, let it completely dry with a dehumidifier and door closed. It pulls all the moisture out which mold can't grow without moisture. After 2 days of that i sprayed the walls down with vinegar bc it kills mold at the root. He didnt put another shower in for 6 months and the mold never came back.

I worked at a restaurant for 4 months. I was sick the whole time. Would be fine, walk in the place . & be sick aF. There was 5 inches of mold in some parts of the basement 😳 right next to the soda tubes & the kegs. Took 2 months but once I left I felt better . Smh. Edit : the catch will be 5 years from now when the LANDLORD gets sick bc his immune system stops fighting it well .

At 8:13 the defendant shows us the photo of the 'cleaned' bathroom, yet there is still mould in the bottom join and since these are plastic panels, stuck against the walls, God only knows the extent of the mould behind the panels. The plaintiff should have gone to the doctor, but I do feel he should have been reimbursed the price of the mould test as this should have been done by the landlord when the tenant notified him of his concerns...

There are many kinds of mold that are not generally dangerous, like black mold. He could have had a reaction to the spores from a mold that is benign to most people nit sensitive to it.

Plaintiff does not know much about mold spores. In the bathroom, it is generally in the walls, on and inside. On a tub, it is dirt and grit and mold from the water from taking a shower/bath. Easy to clean. The inspectors were correct in their findings, no danger in the apartment.

As soon as he said he’s on workman’s comp and in a union I knew that the plaintiff was grifting. First if you are working under a collective bargaining agreement and injured on the job there is no way you are going to lose your medical for at least the first year you are out injured, all contracts have language written into them that protects you from this . I like the judge but health insurance for us peasants isn't as easy as it is for people making her salary. Aside from that mold can be wiped off, so the landlord cleaned, big shit, it's still there.

as a landlord.. the new lawsuit.. Tenants live in an apartment for 5 years then say there was mold. and in NYC, LA, Chicago, and all major cities, the judges grant them the rent returned.. we had every apartment tested for mold all tested zero % mold and the judge still granted the tenant the rent . we live in a lawless country now. thank the people you all voted for. this is why our cities are war zones. no investment in rentals.
