What can you do when you have done everything possible? In this impactful talk, Matt Might helps us see that we can leverage science to do what was believed to be impossible. Since 2017, Matt Might has been at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he is the Director of the Hugh Kaul Precision Medicine Institute and a Professor of both Internal Medicine and Computer Science. Matt’s mission is to make precision medicine a reality for all patients. He is also a Scientific Advisor to brain-focused precision medicine company Q State Biosciences (after acquisition of his start-up Pairnomix).
In 2015, Matt joined the Biomedical Informatics at the Harvard Medical School, and from 2016 to 2018, he was a Strategist in the Executive Office of the President in The White House. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

*This is amazing!* The root of all advancements is the belief that we don't have all the answers. There's always more to learn and discover...

A very well done and inspiring presentation especially for families facing new or little-understood diagnoses. After being told by a doctor that there was "nothing else we could do to improve our daughter's condition", I also refused to accept this "not actionable' position. We found one medicine, then another as well as some lifestyle modifications that have improved her symptoms. In addition, others with similar conditions have formed non-profits to speed up and fund research, advocate and spread awareness. There is always something that can be done! Thank you to the Might family!

I know it. If we think through this, it brings in lots and lots of perspectives. But somehow, it tells one thing - There are too many dilemmas about existence of life. Dilemmas that only a human might have. But then, it's only a human who can put all the dilemmas aside and and gear up for a never ending quest of the unimaginable. Two extremes in one life form.
