This band has touched my soul on more than just an emotional level but, physically. I have changed so much since finding this band not only because of their inspirational lyrics but, their stage presence. I swear, when they play every person listening becomes as one. It is so miraculous to me. Many long nights spent listening to them.. Helping me get through hardships and the understanding of pain and love all at once. Teaching me that life is beautiful and what is in it as well. They have helped me step back from my mischievous set of mind and not take for granted what is right in front of me... I could not thank them more for that. No band has ever inspired me like this one has.

Something that inspires me most about them is that they're not worried about headbanging and jumping around. They capture a beautiful melodic hardcore sound and are focused on capturing that by playing their instruments very well. There's nothing wrong with stage antics like headbanging, but their music creates an atmosphere that would be ruined if while watching them they crouched down and headbanged while playing open D. It's nice seeing their music reflected with their talent and focus.
I dont care what beliefs you may have, this is truly amazing music. You can slander them all you want for having religious themes, it doesnt erase the fact that they're good.
i listen to this every single morning. not only because its a great song. but because it gives me strength. strength to be positive in a negative world. I'm able to have hope, that i can better myself, that the world can see light in the darkness. only love and respect can fix this. its easy to be negative in a negative world. but to be positive takes strength and perseverance. so, I DARE YOU ALL TO BE POSITIVE
Christianity has its Truth and its lies like every spiritual tradition, but its truth is worthwhile. God is the energy, the underpinning pattern, the consciousness in all things. some beleive in a personal God, some don't, but we are all experiencing the same reality. we all live in this vastly intertwined Cosmos with its many laws and endlessly repeating patterns. beauty and order somehow emerges from the seeming chaos of the Universe. this is God.
These guys played at my house a few weeks ago! They were so nice and respectful to my parents and family. I love these guys and they'll always be a part of me.
I don't belive in god, the church or christianity, but I believe, that faith is a necessary thing for us. And music, created from passion and faith will always be great. Best example.
Joel is the best human being ever. He's from where I live, and I saw him and his wife at a grocery store. I walked up and was like flipping out and I told him thank you for his music and inspiring me and all he said was "No thank you!" And gave me the biggest hug no hesitation.
People don't need to be arguing over this. I'm a proud, open atheist but it doesn't mean anything because the raw emotion and talent of this band is what has brought me here, and is what will make me continue to listen to their incredibly amazing tracks. Peace.
I played with this band and they were so nice and didnt even introduce themselves first when they talked to us; they talked about how much they like our band and we all knew who they were. Such sincere passionate dudes who are going to take this so far
Being as an Ocean is one of the most unique bands I have ever heard. They have so much passion in their music, as well as sometimes unique uses of instruments. They are truly amazing.
you believe in God or not this band stands for what they believe in and hoping in return the goodness that they show to people reflects that is God is real and alive in the peoples hearts. Its your own choice to accept Him. Thats the gift of freewill. If not of freewill we will become mindless robots being controlled. Thank God for bands like this. Positively motivating.

Even though this is heavier music or whatever, this song is so calming to listen to. Cool to see a band not getting wrapped up in all the trends and fads of metal or hardcore. This stuff is just real and honost...It's what good music is all about.
You can really tell how far Joel as an individual has come. Just by your body language in this video, you can tell Joel wasn't very confident. Slumped back, head down, having to almost muster up the energy and confidence before every lyric. Now he's throwing his body around on stage, reaching out to people. It's incredible man. I apologize if I am wrong, but to me it's a great addition to the story of BAAO
I don't even think of god when I hear this song. This song resonates with me more now that I can't believe. That's the beauty of really good music. Everyone can relate.
I stumbled upon this earlier today and here I am listening to this song again. I also play in the Christian hardcore scene and before the music started I could already tell this was a positive band about love, and it inspires me to see other bands doing that. Thanks men!

I´m atheist as well and share your appreciation about this. There are a lot of HxC bands that spread "the Love of God" a bit to much. But though I still feel and share their lyrics as well because of the path and past I´ve been through. So I don´t give a thing if it´s about god or else as long as the song and the lyrics have power and hope so they will keep pushing me.
