Some tips to make Hungarians love you: Know a little bit about our history, and have similar stories from your country's history that can be related. Know a little bit of Hungarian and try to speak Hungarian, or just say some words. Even if your Hungarian is bad, we really appreciate the effort. I would say if someone speaks Hungarian, no matter what the skin color, the person becomes Hungarian in our eyes. Many Hungarians are also very inquisitive. Do not take it as insult, use the opportunity to tell them about your country and culture. These people will be your best friends.
I have some similar stories in my country's history as your own as a romanian, though I'm not sure that will make any hungarian love me lmaoo :))))) In fact it's a subject I def avoid ))
What Zsolt says here is completely true. I think the key for being accepted in Hungary is to take a bit of time to understand the culture and definitely to speak some Hungarian. I have lower-intermediate level and everywhere I'm welcomed by Hungarians both in Hungary or outside Hungary and I'm always respected. In Hungary I've never experienced any kind of racism (not even covered), but if people act rude towards you it has to do with the environment itself and not the fact that you are black. Here in London, the n°1 complain of Hungarians who emigrated is that they perceive that in Hungary people are rude, pessimistic and miserable. Of course it's their point of view but just to show that it's not systematically done to black people but it's the environment that exists there in general :)
1. Hungary never had a colony 2. Hungary never kept slaves (we were slaves to other nations) 3. Hungary was pretty closed off until 1989 (when the Russians went out). Most of us did not have the money to travel to many places 4. We can be suspicous, but if you become friends with us, we are more warm hearted than Westeners (no offense, I know some Dutch people who are not like that, yet they never invited me to their home, I assume they have a different culture ) 5. If you give palinka or tokai wine to someone, they will remember you forever :D 6. We are actually kind of multicultural already, but in our own way. We have a lot of customs and culture fragements from different groups in Europe. Even many words that are Turkish for example 7. The other day , I went to a party, where there were at least 30 black girls/guys , and I had a great conversation with everyone, although one of the guys got pissed and called me "Whitey", so I had tell him, that I consider myself as Jewish-Hungarian (I still love kolbász, not a religious jew or anything) I think younger people don't really care what your skin colour is. I mean, some of them might compliment your hair or something, but they do it with me also (I have curly hair) . Also listening to your vid at: 7:21, you are saying : "Distractions, temptations from the enemy? ":D Ignorant people are not your enemy, they are just simply ignorant lol
Hungarian-Jewish is still white buddy, don't try to deflect when it suits you to not be a white person. You are and it's okay. That guy who called you "Whitey" was an asshole. You should have asked him, how would he feel if you would call him "Blacky". Greetings from a fellow hungarian-jewish citizen.
Yo! You just reminded me of one day I was walking with Stephanie and a Hungarian guy with his female partner(I assumed), yelled "bazzmen! Go back to Africa!" at us repeatedly. Omo, I laughed soooo hard because it was funny to me. He genuinely looked very angry. How do you just hate a stranger? It was such a funny experience to me, I think my laughter infuriated him all the more cuz his voice kept getting louder, till we walked past each other.
It’s so funny because few minutes after posting this video, I experienced something similar in the tram. As we entered, some babe was just murmuring and left where we were. It’s so disgusting to say the least and for what reason really.
@@krisztianl.537 Wouldn't that be so easy? Just speak to them? Except, you've never walked a day in their shoes. I am not from their culture, but I would never tell someone they're being too emotional from something negative they experienced. Have a chat with someone who's insulted them? Who knows if that person would harm them? Black people have been harmed in other countries for just existing. If I were them, I wouldn't "talk" to anyone like that. I am sure she is not trying to offend your people, but her experiences are valid. There are racist and non-racist people in every country. If you're offended by her experience, by her truth, do your role in your community, and make foreigners, Black, Brown...etc. feel welcomed when they cross your path.
LOL I recognized your accent straight away! I was born in Budapest, Hungary, but I dont live there anymore... I know many Nigerians /colleagues and clients/, I was actually invited to Nigeria a few times before this Covid :) We got some really cool clients from Abuja and Laos, they even brought me the a few bottles of the Nigerian version of the Guinness once! Im sorry for the bad experience, Hungarians can be racist... Stay safe!
Hungary was very closed off from other influences and cultures for a very long time. Even after the soviet union broke off it took some time for the country to open up. So ppl that look different from us, they might still b stared at or questions r asked that can be a bit awkward or ignorant. But thats due to the lack of information getting into the country and curiosity. Of course younger ppl and of course with the internet its easier to get information. I have not lived in hungary for 13 years, i left when i was 22. But i hope it got better now and ppl are more welcome and curious in a more positive way. I do want hungary to be more multi cultural and more open
Thank you for sharing this. As a Hungarian it is very interesting to hear how you feel and what your impression is. Yes, we certainly have odd views, generalizations about Africa. Furthermore, the African nations are very-very different in their culture and mentality as well! Thank you for sharing this and God bless you Obsy!
This is the video inhave been looking for for so long ,thank you dear.I watched the whole video,am am still preparing my self emotionally ,mentally and just being steady before i set off🙏🏿
Dear my homely comment, whatever injustice we as human being suffer, including racism, no matter from whom and from where, we need to react accordingly, because respect is something that we conquer is never given for free. Whoever is not a police, they have no right to question you about anything about you. In case of such situation, i suggest to record everything from the beginning on your cellphone. In case of verbal and physical attack, as I mentioned, you need to react accordingly. However, it is very important to remember that, it's not paying off to live in a place that you are not well treated.
I'm a Hungarian with a mixed child. It's hell for us here in Hungary. The racism is just ridiculous!!! I am sooo ashamed to be a Hungarian!!! To see my own blood, my son to go through this pain, being discriminated, and I am waring with the people here!!!! This country is behind a 1,000 year. Disgusting!!!!
I’m so sorry you have to go through this. It’s very unfortunate that in 2022, people are still cruel because of race. Be strong for your son mama❤️❤️❤️
It is difficult for a black to fit in in Hungary. But if you don’t give up and persevere, they will be respected. And those who are respected in Hungary are also loved.
@@UnitedPacci In Hungary, respect is more important. He who is respected does not care about his skin color. Everyone has a home, only one of them. If you are moving to another country, you will have to adjust. If you don't like it, you won't come. The point is to have fun.
@@Horizontal77 No sht sherlock. I do get it every country has their own ways of living. Thats is not what I am discussing. You made it seem as if I tried to say don't adjust to the country. My whole point was these countries have very racist views towards black people it doesnt matter how you act. A lot of smart African university students are beat up and treated like animals just for being black. Look at Ukraine, Poland & Hungary now. Ukrainians are escaping Ukraine because of the Russian invasion and look how black people are being treated right now. If you are not white they will not open their borders to help you. Black people really love to go to places where they are unwanted to fit in. Pay attention. Look how they treat eastern European refugees compared to those from Africa or Asia.
You're right about smooth racism. I'm not black, but still felt it several times. They're closed nation, afraid and suspicious of other nationalities. But, mostly will not demonstrate it aggressive way like in Russia let's say. But their smiles and politeness is not genuine according to me. At the end, you're alien for them without language.
Let me tell you my story, I live in Szeged. I am Indian and brown. I have been harassed so many times by ppl in szeged. I am literally traumatized. I have been shouted at and called for slangs. Ppl trying to do physical violence. I had so much hope for studying abroad bt Hungary is a nightmare.
If you refuse to respect the country you're staying in and don't like living in Hungary, just leave it. Nobody's forcing you to stay in Hungary, you're free to go anywhere else.
Aren't they paying for their education so aren't they helping the Hungarian economy so why should she leave. You come on here to listen a video not made for you just to be racist. Wow, if not for the EU nobody would even care for Hungary, what has your country even given the world...
@@beyourself2444 Oh wow, you tried to educate a hatter with hate. Be better. Btw hungarian invetions: vitamin c, ballpoint pen, electric locomotive, telephone cetnre, rubiks cube, word and excel, holography, match, electric motor, transoframtor and i think most importante mRNA vacine (khm covid khm)
racism in hungary: dont care the skin color they even hate the other europeans ":DDD like germans... "sht germans again here? the balaton is good yeah?" in here the skin color really not mean nothing but you are hungarian or not hungarian it is the point... being gypsy in hungary... ":D well there is 2 type of hungarian A: judging the person B: judging the whole race and blacks? honestly most hungarians never seen only in the movies...
@@iscariotejones3706 just like how every nation have! Even in the usa don’t like the same white mexicians or latin americans etc and even in nigeria the peoples don’t like too much the other black tribes… just like how there is many conflict between irish and english peoples
@@iscariotejones3706 also i think it’s more racism because in europe the peoples have very big self and national consciousness! Like: i am french, i am spain, i am welsh, i am hungarian and white and white is not same! Mostly when the other guy is a slavic and you’re a germanic! Or any big europid Just like how in south middle africa the blacks don’t like each others because they are not same USA african but there is 2-3 big groups and much more minor groups!
1. it is middle europe! very important couse the culture come and go in the right and the left side in the same time! 2. no not blacks.... gypsies (has indo-iranic roots but mostly they are light skinned or browned a bit) and beas (has roman descends and other balcanic roots they are dark skinned without african attributes) also many hungarian has turkish roots or other roots like germanic or slavic even romanian (south european) after the ottoman empire 3. the population"s 12-15% is beas and gypsy and there is asians mostly chinese (a lot of student and 2nd or 3rd generation asian) very few black (african) also some german and croatian polish serbian they are also 2nd-3rd generation but they are around 5-6% also jewish (ok it is not race but the most jewish is hebrew or has hebrew roots around 1-2%?)
You did an excellent job with this content. However, I am not a big fan of trying to convince Europeans that Africa is a jungle and that its inhabitants permanently live under the threat of wild animal attacks. In addition, you paid too much attention to concern about Hungarians viewing us as poverty-stricken. You went into details about ''oh some of us are from rich families''. You should have ignored all that.
Really? Egy do you think IT? Because we are stearing at you? You know I was almost 14 years old when I first see a black people in real life??? Of yourse I stared. I think if I go to african village they would also stare me I think. We did not have colonies and slaves... So we do not understand some part of the problem. Only balck people we had here during the Soviet times were university students. Some of them stayed here, so they had and still have the Best education level as an average I think. Classic rassism arrived here in the 1990s with some american movies. Of course we had some idiots like every country. But this people usually has problem with everyone..
They’re only racist towards people of color or Jews. If you don’t fit into one of those two categories, you should be fine! Just make sure you tell them, at least 4X, ( under 4 is an insult) how wonderful their cooking is.
According to jews Hungary is one of the safest countries for jews in the world. Same for everybody who comes here. It is a safe place for turists, foreign students and legal migrants, because we resist the far leftist agenda. They make these videos to mislead people. This girl lives here for a long time and she herself said she never experienced racism. I only once experienced, when gypsy kids were harassing Hungarian kids at my son's school with death threats. Also that case was nicely resolved by the teachers, by education, and the kids became friends in the end. This is the second time I experience it: this lady hates Hungarians.
What you need is therapy and to love yourself. You want to SPECIFICALLY have a wife & kids with a WHITE woman is very colourist & ignorant. I support interracial couples, but not one's based on fetishism. Get help.
@Ramsey Brody Race/ethnicity is millennia of distinct ecological adaptation, biological, cultural, and psychological. It is not merely 'skin colour'. I value it, as do you I expect for all non-Europeans. if you weren't such a hypocrite, you'd value it for europeans too.
@Ramsey Brody if you learn the etymology of the word 'nation', you'll understand that it very much does have an ethnic component. But that's not even my primary point. My point is that you would never tell an African that their ethnicity doesn't exist, or that their culture is not an expression of their race. So why do you (and every liberal on the planet) feel so comfortable doing so to ethnic Europeans?
