Hey JS Dwayne!! We remember you saying you were going to share your homeless story. That's crazy your mom put you in a shelter, because you were out of control. It's really hard when you don't have family that supports you through the challenges. Family members fight sometimes... and it's sad. Butters brother and father got into a fight in the backyard before too, because of her dad being ignorant. So sometimes you just need to stand up for yourself. We have heard of other places having cots at the shelters. The demographics of Rochester sound similar to where Butters grew up... Lots of people on Government Assistance. Many people at these shelters need a heck of a lot more than just a place to sleep and a pep talk to get back out there. We all have struggles we have to get through, and it's the support we have going through them that makes all the difference, and we all can use some compassion, decency, and love! Being homeless with nobody but homeless friends teaches us alot and yes they are some of the nicest people

I try not to judge people that are down on hard times because I have been too, we've all been there. If it weren't for my family I would have been homeless at some point in my late 20s. My parents did foster care for years and I could tell when I got close to my godsisters and godbrothers that they went through hell by the time they came to us (from the other foster homes). Every child deserves love. Great video!

That is so painful when parents attack their own kids. It is supposed to be a safe place but when it's not safe that can leave a mark. Shelters can be very tough. You never know what someone is going through. A lot of people have used public assistance at one time or another, it's nothing to be ashamed of ever. It can be hard to break cycles of poverty without help sometimes. I'm glad you ended up ok!

Do you sometimes miss your dad and mom especially when you see children with their parents. Sorry to hear your sad story. I believe someday you will find happiness with someone.
