Hello friends! I am finally facing my overdue plant chores, but I was a bit ambitious about things I can achieve in a week. There were some things I planned to do this week but I simply didn't have the time for them. Do you have any plant-related chores that you have been avoiding? Well, grab a... whatever you will need to accomplish your task. I am not a witch, I can't tell you what to grab.

As you know, I have been using MARS hydro grow lights and grow tents for over 2 years now and I have been very happy how my hoyas and other plants have done. They grow faster and my hoyas bloom much earlier than they used to. I still make some mistakes because using grow lights does entail a certain learning curve, in terms of just how much light our houseplants need, but overall they are all healthy, happy and thriving.
I have 3 of their grow tents, in 3 different sizes, but I also grow my hoyas outside of the grow tents using their lights, like on my hoya grow wall where they also thrive. I also use the lights for my aroids and they have gotten seriously massive. I use several of their grow lights on my plants, TS600, TS1000, FC3000 and FC4800.

Just one orchid, I don't need any more. 😂😂😂 I now own 3 regular sized Phals, 4 mini Phals, a Cymbidium, a Wildonara, a Beallara, a Burrangea, 2 regular sized Oncidiums, 2 mini Oncidiums, a Vanda, a Paphiopedilum, an Angraecum, a Trichoglottis. Hello Miro. I loved your new orchid. Very beautiful. I killed one once and have been afraid to try again. I believe that your planning efforts like mine have great potential. It’s the execution that needs improvement. 😊oh well. I love your channel and your love of Hoya has made me start my own collection. Thank you.

I love how weird you make me look in my room smiling at the tv when I realized there a long episode I get to watch from you Miro! ❤Your humor and faces it’s the best it’s all a read I can relate to. You helped me save a Hoya by the way my Hoya Potsii which I learned from you is also a verticulata… I know I spelled that wrong no judging the novice. 😂

I adore orchids. I don’t keep many in the UK, but I consider my mothers MASSIVE collection in Australia to be partially mine. she has too many for one person, and when I’m there i always spend multiple days tending to the ones that are to big and heavy for her to manage

Another shout out to you. I've been experiencing one of the most difficult times in my life, and watching your vids have been wonderful for me! You are adorable, gentle, kind, funny, and I've been a fan of hoyas for about 30 years now, from when you could ONLY get Carnosa, or Pubicalyx, so you being stuck a Hoya fan.... I adore you hun! 😊 Thank you for all the details and cuts you add to our watching experience as well, if tv were a thing still, you could have your own show ON TV (yes I'm old shut up🤣) So, thank you for being such a loving support to a whole lot of strangers 💜💞💜

Ps. I am an Orchid L❤ver as well!! ...And yes from about 30 years ago as well... ...Jeeze! If I were younger, and if I were talking to me... I'd think I was such an old fart!! 🤣🤣💜 (I did not have success with Orchids, and had Children, so I put my energy into my children over Orchids! 😊) I keep asking to this as I watch the vid! 😂 I also loved violets since my 20's as well! I AM SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT YOU DO WITH YOUR NEW MACRO LENS!! 😍🫨🫨🫨😍 Wait a minute here... Are these close up's you added in after FROM your new lens? Because they are really nice... I'm confused here! 😂 ... Some time later ... Yes!!! I was right! Macro! I love it so much!! Ps. If you haven't guessed I am watching this after having a little Plant Medicine!!! 🤣 So I'm a little silly right now 😁🎉🤣 Oo Oo Oo!!! You have WAYYYYY more plants than I do (lost everything a couple times in my life 🤷‍♀️) but HERE'S how I show that I am more of a Hoya, or PLANT lover than most (regular 🤣) people.. When I cut off the ends of stems, I PROPAGATE THEM!!! 🤣🤣🤣 It does work almost all the time as well! So you could have put those empty end branches in water, planted, then sold them later if you wanted!! Hoyas are SO amazing!! 😍😍 I love the so much 😁😁

@@BasiePlants omg! wow! I'm so proud of you!! Did you read what I wrote you about those bare tip cuttings? Because.... 🔔 Ding ding ANOTHER great idea for you came to me! Because you're so busy with all your plants, you could put the cuttings in water, then sell them as wet, rooted cuttings, sell them starting at like maybe the lowest price you want, for like, 3 if them then up the price for more onwards as you choose! What do you think!? I am so silly right now I'm very curious if you like it, and maybe try it. And then how it goes for you 😁😁😁 AND for all that matters, I'll be happy if another fan of yours reads this and does this and find it helpful, as well, the many, many people you share this idea with (if you do try and like it)! I want the world to know! 🤣🤣🤣 Just like you with your channel, you share all your expertise with so much fun and love at very little to no cost to us! I love your work! I'm proud of you 😁 this wild have worked well for me "when I was younger" (gramma voiceover inserted here 😂) ... And.. Who knows, maybe in the future I will do something on my channel 😊 How you have a most wonderful day/eve/night!! 😊💜 May the sun always shine in your heart! I just thought that up... "Unless I heard it a while ago somewhere..." (Grampa voice inserted here, even though I don't mean my partner or anything, I just heard it in my head like a Grampa voice!! 😅) Bye for now! 👋💜 Also (heh... Oops after edit🤷‍♀️😜) I am still CURRENTLY in the problem of the soil. My plants are STILL suffering, and I hurt for them every day! I need to be selling some for income these past 2 years or so I've been trying to work with the soil. I was thinking, I'm hoping to build up the courage to talk to try, say "Look, I'm on disability, I bought your soil to make money, and not ONLY is it killing my plants, but I cannot sell ANYTHING because I only have YOUR soil! Please replace it with a bale of quality soil with shipping, as, I NOW do NOT have a car because I'm broke broke broke!. Or, if you don't offer soil without any recycled materials in it, please send me one from another company!. The end. 😜🤷‍♀️ I funny if I'd even be brave enough to say that!! 🤣 We'll see! 😁 However, I was thinking if they don't want do anything, I would like to tell them that I'll could social media to tell my experience, and while I may not have an amazing plant channel myself, I do follow a few that might be willing to tell the truth about things... Then I like to give a person such as yourself all the info to share, if you're comfortable doing so. Anyway. No big deal. I love your channel, and I know, once I'm socializing again, I'll be sharing your channel with more people trust me! We're gonna watch you TOGETHER!! 😁🤣🎉🪴🎉

Love the new orchid. I tend to kill orchids so I enjoy seeing them in others collections. The vlog is fantastic and I think it is the random nature of the content that makes it so enjoyable. Don’t worry I think a good many of us get far too ambitious. I have to say living vicariously through you and another Hoya lover in Taiwan fills that hole in my life that massive amounts of Hoya blooms has made.

I picked up an orchid randomly last year at the pharmacy of all places and somehow managed to keep it alive and blooming, and yes that surprised me. Next weekend there is an orchid show happening in the city and I’m thinking about going and checking it out, maybe picking another up that catches my eye. I managed to put off watering my plants by watching this, so I thank you for that 😂

Yes, it is a standard practice :) I used to do that 13 years ago, when I grew in organic substrates, but this situation is a bit different than being root bound. In many cases, I find the roots don't really develop exactly the same in pon as they would in organic mixes, and they react to repotting very differently. That plant, though it has a lot of root going out of the pot, also has a lot of root that has died back due to repotting (in the pot). In these cases, I find the best thing to do is to unpot it, clean off the roots, and try to save as many as possible, since there is a chance more will die back when uppoting again. Unfortunately, I also find that some plants cannot be kept root bound in pon, since there won't be space for the roots. In organic mixes, they organic matter tends to break down and then they have more space, but that is not the case with inorganic media. Many people report their plants dying completely if not repotted on time. I mean, my plant clearly found a way out of this :D It is one of the negative aspects of inorganic media imo, but then again, there are negative aspects to organic media as well, etc :) Also, some plants are a bit more sensitive to cutting of the roots, so I don't do it with plants that are not so easy to replace (not to mention you risk fungal infections).

My Hoya surigaoensis is HUGE. it started out as two damaged leaves. something told me to give it lots of room to grow, I put it in a 6" orchid pot. last year it grew two vines, each about 5 feet long, with sparse leaves. This year, there are multiple growth points from each node, multiple peduncles . I am looking forward to this year's growth. AND by the way, the sun stressed leaves is stunning. I hope you get to love your surigaoensis as much as I love mine!

Wonderful video. I have a desk full of notes of things to do. The best thing I ever did was self watering pots. But the weather is changing here and I find that I have to fill them at least once a week and my pots all have a large reserve. I have many orchids, african violets and hoya all on self watering. I too certainly do look forward to your videos. I missed last week because my children organized an 80th birthday party for me. And I got more orchids.

I definitely agree, self watering pots are a life saver! I really hope I can figure out a way to make a self-watering hoya wall :D And then all my problems will truly be solved. At least when it comes to watering. Those plants are dry in 2 days and I am not pleased :D But some in the tent and in the cabinets have been watered 2 weeks ago and there is still water in the reservoir :)

Love your new orchid. I just can’t keep them alive. Also do you keep all your Hoyas in pon in self watering pots? Also do you spray down the planks with fertilizer and water to help the plants root into the plank or would moss poles flattened out work better

Oh really? I find them quite easy! Well, there are some hard ones. I killed many cold loving orchids. Not all of my hoyas are in pon, but a lot of them are and I am trying to move as many as possible to self-watering pots since I am definitely an underwaterer. I don't spray the plank with fertilizer :)
