Oh Wow, that was a shift, 22 mins in and I'm exhausted 🥵. What a great day with spectacular views, be it a long one. !! Great to end it with a cool down in the river , looked glorious, a wee refresh for the bike ride back. 🚲 Well done all, great blog, great day.🌞
Good morning and happy SUNday Paul, big thumbs up from us 👍 another two munroe bagged and two that will live long in the memory banks for sure, what a fabulous day! 👌 🌞 We have really lucked out this year huh. Loved that you cycled in, what a fab approach and fooatge! 🚵♀️ lol careful 😅
That was an epic day Paul. Good to see up there again. You & Frank must have enjoyed cooling off in the river. We returned back over Beinn Bhrotain on a very windy May day about 20 years ago. Need to get back up there again. ATB Derek
Thanks Derek! What a warm day that was. The river was a very welcome addition to the trip! Wow 20 years ago! I bet nothing has changed at all in that time! Strange how the mountains are timeless that way! Thanks mate! Paul
If it wasn’t for that river……a great day and those views were fab! The walk down the bealach and through the Glen was hard in that heat but that dip in the river…..amazing 👍👍👍
Cheers Andy! We mentioned that it was a Andy Astro blue sky day! Fantastic weather albeit a bit hot. Too many hills to contemplate but the views to the devil’s point were amazing! Thanks again mate! Paul
Nice one lads. Whit a day. 😎 Good memories of me & Robin's trip. We Camped doon by the lochan...Mind now, there is only 1 dynamic duo. 😉 Yooz can be the aulder dynamic duo. 😆😉
Cheers Kev! A fantastic part of the world. I watched your video with Robin before I went! Hows about on account of our age we be the bionic duo? Would that be acceptable 😁😁😁paulo
What a day that was mate !! Looked bloody hot too. The dip in the water must have been very welcome. Amazing hike really cranking up those miles. Beautiful scenery as always!!. Love the idea of biking in like you did..... Real sense of Adventure. I'm slowly on the mend mate so 🤞 I'll be up the hills again in a few month time. Class vid as always mate ATB Simon
It was a fantastic day Simon. Real feeling of remoteness on these hills. The weather, whilst warm was amazing, the clarity of the views was terrific. If you come to do these hills you would be best bringing a bike. Takes the heat out of the long walk. Wow! That dip at the end was so refreshing! I wish I could have stayed in all night! Glad your on the mend mate! Hopefully see you on the hill soon! Paul
Bless ya Paul, felt the burn by the end....but then 💥 the sweet sweat release of a watery dip! 10 miles of mountains is no joke, thanks so much for taking us along, really enjoyed from the safety of our sofa this morning , have a great weekend, Ceri and Kat ❤️ 👍 ☕️ 🧭 😀
Yeah I am not sure the difference between the routes but I think they are both long! 🥴 I had watched a few videos and thought the route from linn of dee would give the views of the devils point on the way back. All in all a good day with the descent down the bealach being the most difficult bit! You will love the walk and hopefully you get the great weather we got! All the best! Paul
Nice one Paul. Cracking weather, if not too warm. We split it with a camp on the way out and it still seemed a slog: got to the tents in the dark. Well done. Gordon
Cheers Gordon.just a tad too warm but I’m not complaining 👍. A great walk and the bikes certainly help with the initial walk in. Be even better if it was an electric mountain bike! I think the other two An sgarsoch and partner look even further! Cheers for watching mate and thanks for the support! Paul
@@PAADVENTURES1 I’m up that way this week and saw two guys on electric mountain bikes earlier on meall a buchaille. Looked the business. What altras were you wearing?
Yeah just need to save up! I have Altra lone peak 4.5s I love them! So comfy and a large toe box which I really like. Water just swaps into them though but great for this weather! Paul
Hi John! An epic day indeed. Not technically difficult hills but the feeling of remoteness is tangible. The heat was nice but definitely makes it a bit harder. Yeah colin was in Australia for an extended holiday and unfortunately hurt his back on his return. He is on the mend though and we have some walks planned as soon as he is fit! Not been out with him since March! Feels like a long time ago. Cheers again....Paul
@@PAADVENTURES1 Kat has been lucky enough to spend soem time there when she was little, he parents planted the adventure seed young. Sadly I have only whistle stopped Ben Nevis twice we the N3Ps a few years Nick. Desperately want to get up an explore more, your videos really tantalise! 👌❤️🤗
As always Paul a pleasure to be out hiking with you. That was a loooonnng day with the descent down towards the river Dee particularly hard going, the dip in the river was so welcoming. Views were stunning as you would expect on a day like that. Brilliant editing and captured the day well. See you on the next adventure hopefully soon. Cheers mate, Frank.👍🏔🥾
Cheers Frank! Likewise thoroughly enjoyed your company and shenanigans 😀😀. That’s a hard descent and the slog through the heather at the end was particularly hard! Great views though and well worth it for the dip in the river! Cheers mate and thanks for the invite! Till the next time. Paul
Chris it was a toughie! The cycle part at the start was lovely and easy but the heat saps my energy quicker than normal! The views across to the devils point was spectacular and the walk along the plateau to the second Munro was quite special. The highlight of the day was a cooling dip in the river! Could have sat there for hours! Cheers mate and hope you have been getting out on more adventures! Paul
Pride rock looked a glorious viewpoint. Some wonderful views all along. That was a long tough walk. We are "enjoying" some hot weather at the moment in the east of France. We would have loved that small pool at the right time. We have been away a lot since I last viewed your videos but now we are on our way home hope to catch up with more of your recent adventures. Have a great week.
Thanks Ivor! I don't think that I expected the image from pride rock to be as good as it turned out! If I had known that I would have taken more footage! It was so hot and I have to say the pool at the end was probably the best part of the day for me! So refreshing and revitalising. Hope you are enjoying your holiday and look forward to your kind comments! All the best.....Paul
Brilliant - was hoping for the snooker theme tune for 147 - what do we get "In The jungle" on the way up...10hrs for the walk - impressive, good effort. 🌄👍
You know Dave I never even thought of that! A snooker related milestone! I have ever other round number notes as another wee part of the journey too! Missed a trick there! Frank is always throwing in some impromptu singing and the lion king, in the jungle was apt for pride rock! What a great wee spot with amazing views! If we didn't faff about and carry on so much we could have done the walk in 5 hours!,, 😁😁😁😁cheers mate. Paul
It was magic anyway "🎵 ding do lil do lo de do de lo...doot do root to root 🎶" - that's my best rendition for the snooker milestone get a darts one pencilled in for 180! - Frank seems like good fun anyhow! Seemed at times you were slogging a bit on that one...no wander you went in for a sit in the wee lochan. Faffing is all part of the fun! 💦👌
Another fantastic adventure Paul 👏 you have my sympathy because although its an amazing part of our beautiful country 🏴 its also a feckin long walking from Linn o 'Dee to get anywhere near the Munros 🏔 well done both of you although I'm not sure about Stripey Arse Guy trying to steal the limelight 🤣 atb Brian 👍
Cheers Brian! Having watch some other RU-vid videos I still underestimated the walk! The bike helps a bit but it was still a long old day! 🥴🥴stripey pants guy! Now that would work! 😂😂😂cheers again mate! Paul
Absolutely brilliant Paul. The wee recap at the end was amazing 👏. U must have been gubbed mate after only a few hours sleep 😴 well done for keeping going. Frank still made me chuckle in his drawers lol. Fantastic mate loved it ATVB Tam
Cheers Tam! Don’t think i realised how tired I was until I got home! A great laugh with Frank and those shorts! Stripey pants guy indeed! 😂😂😂cheers mate. Paul
Wow, what a long, hard day in the heat. Definitely both got your hill fitness💪. Another great video to watch on the big TV while I'm ironing😅! Well done 👍!! Dropped you a wee E-mail with a personal update🙂.
Cheers John! It was warm but very enjoyable. The old hill legs were tired after it! Well done by the way! Got your email!! Fantastic! You will love my wee video next week! Another target for you!!! Cheers. Paul
Looks like you might need to adjust the exposure on your camera - it was indecent 🤣 Looks like a great hike! Still got a lot of these more remote Cairngorms on my list so looking forward to them.
It was fantastic Claire. A tiny bit too hot but I'm not complaining. I think these are a long way away and any route is long! So glad for the refreshing dip at the end though! Best part of the day! Cheers Paul
Well done Paul .Deffo think this is the best way to do these 2 rather than crossing a featureless plateau from Glen Feshie.Better path than i expected heading up after ditching bike.Drop back down into Glen Geusachan was pretty steep eh 😱😱 with still a long walk back to bike.Long day but amazing views makes it worth it.Another 2 ticked off for ye.😃👏👏
Cheers Andy! We met a few people going both ways but I loved this route. The cycle upto the white bridge was an easy start to the day and whilst the track along the river was tricky we managed it fine although Frank did disembark from his bike a few times 😁😁. The hardest part of the day was that final descent and walk along the glen! Steep and slide then long and boggy. I was melting all the way. Finishing with a dip in the river was nothing short of sublime! What a day! Thanks mate and thanks for watching. Paul
Well done Paul. A long day out and another great video. Love the Cairngorms and the scenery is absolutely stunning. Was recommended an app called Peak Finder which is brilliant for identifying the hills around you. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Thanks Euan. It was long and a wee toughie in that heat but still enjoyable and very memorable. Do you know I actually have peak finder! Keep forgetting I have it! It is good though and helps a lot. When there are loads of hills though the screen is a bit crazy to look at! It ends up so busy that it is sometimes difficult to read! Next video is a wee bothy overnight adventure......don't tell anyone 😁Paul
Was this last weekend Paul? We were up there on Sunday visiting Ben Macdui and Beinn Mheadhoin. It was roasting!!! You're fairly rattling through the hills, so you are. Know I'm not very reliable on the old commenting front but I do watch every single one. ATB, Stefan
Hi Stefan! Great to hear from you! Hope you are well! Yeah last Sunday! What a warm day eh! The breeze on the hill was nice but down in the Glen it was fierce hot…the river dip was amazing. Don’t worry about those comments! I feel your presence always! 😀😀😀😀cheers again mate and maybe we will cross paths again soon! Paul
Aye that breeze saved the day! Was reading 29.3°C in the Loch Avon basin about 4pm! Needless to say I was straight in that water. Aye, hopefully bump into you again sometime. I'll bring my autograph book next time 😂
Well done guys. A long one and I could tell that descent was everlasting! No hills for me this month as in 🇵🇹 just now. Got a long weekend planned up that way next month and might do this route. I see Frank was being “stripey pants guy” for the day😂😂🤣🤣😜😜
Thanks Andrew! The final descent is a lot of heather bashing and it's quite wet and boggy! I would still recommend this route though as the rest of the walk is quite special. The views over to the devils point on the way back are amazing! If you get the weather like we had a wee dip in the river is a must too! Cheers again mate and hope you are enjoying your trip! Paul
Well done Paul you must have been well goosed after that epic mate can literally seeing your face getting red and more red as the day went on. Did you drive straight home or have a night in the van at the car park?
Hi Peter. Do you know it wasn’t that difficult too, it was just the heat made it hard! An amazing day and I would definitely recommend the route. The last descent and walk along the river was the hardest bit. Yeah had to drive home as it was Sunday and I was working Monday…..a long but great day! Have you been to these hills?
@@PAADVENTURES1 No yet mate have/had it on the tick off list for this summer but going to be absent for a wee bit. But when i do i want to bag them via an overnighter from Glen Feshie as i love that glen and pitch my tent somewhere up on The Moss. But defo no no in this mad mental heat lol! Would be like watching Lawrence of Arabia ha ha!
@@MUNROSnCORBETTS it’s roasting eh! So many options, it’s hard to know what’s going to be the best! I think I am going to try the other two remote ones from geldie lodge with a wee camp. Hope all is ok Peter and you don’t stay away too long mate! Best. Paul
Peter,,,,I’m so sorry to hear that. Words are never enough. I hope you are managing ok and you can get time to sort everything out and when you do get back out it will be good for you. Thinking about you mate.. Paul
No problem! I wouldn’t recommend going back the way we went! If I had to do it again I would retrace my steps back the way I came! The Glen is extremely boggy and very long 🥴
@@PAADVENTURES1 sure I agree with you 👍. I was actually surprised when you went down to the Glen Dee. I will retrace the same track back to the White Bridge 🙏. But beautiful views and a beautiful glen and Munros though...
