How can the premise of looking after your family and doing what you can, to help them in life and not become a statistic…Be considered “Woke” and, or “Garbage” This is merely a scene about Family helping Family understand that they’re cared for and They matter. That is simply empathy and humanity. If you consider that “Woke-Garbage” or it doesn’t fit your Nostalgia of what the show was….Then you either do not understand what it means to have family, or to feel for them, and if that is true then, You simply did not understand the show in the first place. How could you possibly hope to understand the compassion in this or the previous iteration. “Why don’t he want me man?!” As will said in the first iteration to uncle Phil, to this. Crafting the Character it takes To Be a Man, isnt woke, It’s courage and compassion. If you don’t see or understand in a tale of Fiction, lord help you In Your waking life.

Whoever thought that I would like another Uncle Phil, but I think I'm gonna like this guy as Uncle Phil. He has that same calm, but authoritative demeanor that made the original Uncle Phil such a force to be reckoned with. Yet, what I like about this new Uncle Phil, is he doesn't feel like a copy cat. The relationship between Will and Uncle Phil in the original was a highlight not just of the show, but of TV in general. And it's repeated here- at no point does Phil talk down to Will, or condescend him, or yell. He talks to Will man to man, stays calm and lays out not just the potential consequences of his impulsiveness, but what he stands to gain by staying on the path he (Phil) has laid out for him. I am REALLY excited for this new series. :-D

James Avery is the originator of Philip Banks. He set the tone. But I can see this new guy taking that tone and doing justice to it. This was a really good heart to heart. He doesn't scold will or ground him. He tries to reason with him. Keeping his voice steady and talking to him man-to-man. He sounds genuine and reassuring. And I know the handshake will work into a hug down the road. Well may not of had a father growing up but he has one right now trying to stop him from making a huge mistake that could cost him his life. The casting is brilliant and you really feel for Will and Phil trying to make this situation work.

3:46 "A real man takes the time to consider the consequences to his actions." Will, when I was a boy, I was so close to idolizing you; though before I did, I came to my senses, I remembered what God shared in his word, you are just a man. You actions this Oscar weekend was disappointing. You've allowed a women you chose, who has made your business known, and also made it know that she did not favor traditional marriages to break your home. God is the center for a reason. You argue against it, but every family I've witnessed that took this fact very seriously has been married and stuck together for decades upon decades. Now, you've allowed her to get away with disrespecting the sanctity of marriage, your marriage. If you don't correct course, you two will not survive. I don't wish this upon, it's just ostensibly obvious, the volcano beneath your eyes is roaring. You are justifiable upset. If you've done something to have also aided in get decisions to step out, hey, maybe y'all should then stop speaking publicly about personal info no one asked y'all about.

I love this i got goosebumps watching this I grew up with and always loved the fresh prince and I appreacite the the reboot because its a similiar story but two completly different takes on fresh prince because the OG series was comedy and and we all loved it and thats why the emotional parts just hitted different back then and now the reboot is more dramatic and darker and I love it. Of course you cant compare the two because they are like two diffrent genres Im looking forward to this series and I just love the fact that this was born out of one fans selfmade trailer of an darker version of fresh prince. So for everybody who actually read this dont try to compare it its not possible. I wish you all peace and health

I hope people stop caring about you will smith. Your reaction to Chris Rock's joke was childish and and act just for your "wife". Your first reaction to his joke was real. You laughed at Chris' joke then you saw jada roll her eyes. Alopecia is not a life threatening condition. It is hair loss. I am experiencing hair loss and get reminded all the time. These people are not even joking. Yet I take it in stride. Sorry will but I am not on your side. You were brilliant in Six Degrees. It has been all downhill since then. You need to PUBLICLY apologize to Chris. I'm not talking about some knee jerk half assed apology that is an attempt to revive your career in a few months. You need to do it NOW!!! Good Luck

I was not thrilled about the reboot at the beginning when they announced it. However, after viewing the first three episodes of Bel-Air, I liked and enjoy on the direction of the reboot is going by making the changing the major characters by twisting their personalities and giving them more vulnerabilities in order make make the show more ground. I enjoyed Carlton Banks character changed from the original show to making him more resentful and jealous towards his cousin, Will and feel threatened by his presence because Carlton was the major Alpha in school. He would do anything get rid of his cousin no matter the cost In addition, he struggled with a cocaine addition as well. Also, I liked on how the reboot changed Hillary from dimwitted airhead to a social media influencer who is a gifted in the arts of culinary and odds with her mother in different points of view. Geoffrey’s character was changed more of a confidant and friend to the Banks family opposed of merely being the wisecracking butler. I also watched on Uncle Phil was more reluctant of bringing Will to LA and felt using his influence on the justice system was crossing the line, but he did the right thing by bringing his nephew because He knew that Will was a good kid who was in a bad stituation in the wrong place at the wrong time. I liked on how they expanded the thug’s character and I believe that he would go into alliance with Carlton and his sidekick, Conner due to them of sharing a common enemy towards Will. What gave it away was Conner’s corrupt grandfather who is a federal judge would make the thug’s criminal charges go away and used his influence to have Will prosecuted instead.

I love how Will turn the show into a completely different direction. I love how Hillary is not so dumb found, Ashley is not so innocent, Carlton is not so bougie, Geoffrey is not a butler (assuming), Jazz did not come from Philly with Will(interesting), and how Will friend from Philly will fit into the show. This is so good. Thank God I thought it was going to be a no. Leave Fresh Prince like it was but Bel-Air is good.

Damn, I can’t even lie. When “Uncle Phil” asked if Will cares if he lives or dies, the look on Will’s face as he ponders that question reminded me of a young Will Smith. Unpopular Opinion but they could've pumped the money from this reboot into an ORIGINAL black story. I'm tired of the reboots and we really need some original content for this new generation. The thing that made the 90s so iconic was the varied shows and movies that depicted black people in different walks of life, both comedic and dramatic. It's sad that here we are 30 years later and the 90s STILL outshines the modern day in representation AND creativity! Sad
@FreshPrincex4
@FreshPrincex4 2 года назад
It's actually thanks to people like you why original shows now fail. Hell even certain reboots now are doing good and CBS has about 3 that's doing good I think the fact will himself wants to do a retelling of the story but in a modern way, with a whole different feel.
