Me gustaría saber si Bela Siki aún vive. Muchas gracias!

I studied w/ Siki at UT Austin in the 60’s.Very severe;silken tone when he rarely demonstrated. He granted an act of kindness when he explained that I should switch majors to law.

Hard to tell, a Blüthner perhaps? Or maybe a pre-WW2 Bechstein? The sound of a grand piano, especially the older ones, depends on many things (hammers, strings, dampers, the crown of the soundboard, the size of the instrument, humidity, type of microphones used in the recording, mic placement, room acoustics, recording equipment, mixing/mastering, etcetera). Unless there are specific characteristics to the sound that are typical for only one particular brand of pianos, you probably won't find a definite answer. Maybe you could look for some documentation on this recording or search for information on the studio that recorded the performance. Maybe the artist was sponsored by a particular brand of instruments. Good luck finding your answer!

Excellent performance! If he had played the scherzo slightly faster though, it would have been perfect.
