I always loved how Bela played off of the brothers. She gets a lot of hate because of the things she's done, but honestly the boys have allied with MUCH worse. Crowley, Rowena, Ketch, Lucifer, etc...
I think the main reason she didn’t was because she didn’t really have any humanizing or funny moments that made her likable. She just came off as a bitch with no redeeming qualities

Bela would have been a fun recurring character, sort of an evil comedic foil but sometimes reluctant ally for Sam and Dean, sort of like Crowly in later seasons.
Agree the early episodes of most series are normally the best. I thought the story lines in season one were the best. Later seasons with the angels and demons were not so good, although I think Cas and Crowley were great characters. The script writers sadly ran out of ideas.
Bella wasn't evil she was desperate to get out of a crossroads deal and she wasn't honest with Sam & Dean about it. Her lack of trust ended up being her undoing in the end because if she had asked for their help in the beginning they could have probably helped her. However, when she broke down and finally asked she had done them wrong & did wrong on so many occasions that Dean refused (it was already a little too late for her when she asked anyway).
The fact the fanbase hated both Bela and Ruby's characters in Season 3 (and 4 in Ruby's case) is so disappointing. Because the writers chose to write them off. Just sad.

I mean personally I loved Bela as a character. Plus her lack of trust in men & self preserving behavior stems from her abusive childhood. If given more time she could've learned to get over her shit past or come to terms with it. Just a victim myself, who was very similar to her before some much needed therapy, she was a favorite character for me. It's not like she was a demon or anything evil. She was a damaged girl who did some shit things to get by. Very human.
@Ellie B. Bela dying is one of the main reasons I lost interest in spn after s3, she could've easily been given a really good redemption arc. Her story was really tragic, unfortunately, fangirls were too jealous of Lauren Cohan.

I did keep watching it for the same reason but thing is I was never a part of the fandom, I didn't even know it existed, until like a few months ago so even after I finished watching I didn't even know destiel was a thing because I really saw their connection to be quite brotherly and Dean even says Cas is like a brother to him! So imagine my surprise when I found out that people actually shipped them! I was honestly shocked, even his confession seemed platonic to me at first watch. And what shocked me even more so, was that they shipped the freaking actors as well! I mean wtaf is that? I know I'm ranting at this point but I honestly regret ever finding out about the spn fandom, but ig there are some sensible fans as well.

Even I sort of felt that Misha Collins supported the ship because he didn't want to be taken off the show because honestly, Castiel didn't have much of a role in any of the story lines after s7. I feel he supported them to remain relevant. I agree with you there too, I'm all for ship and let ship, but these people will go after anyone who disagrees with them. It's actually pretty sad really. Anyway, the series is over now, and I can only hope they will do it in a better way if it's ever rebooted.
@Ellie B. It should've ended in season 5, they had completed the arc perfectly and it should've been closed. The rest of the season had just one season story arcs which basically means they were just doing whatever they wanted to at that point. Even ending it at s8 with them closing the doors of hell would've made sense but they just kept doing the same thing over and over. Supernatural had a lot of potential to be series for all audiences but in the end, they only catered to the raging fangirls and teens. Pretty sad but nothing we can do about it ig.
I used to hate Bela more than any other character on supernatural. Then I saw twd and now I can't hate her anymore because of Maggie xD Lauren Cohan is such a talented actress ans very underrated.

not entirely true. Lisa was well-loved by the fandom. Bella could have potentially been a great love interest if only her side character wasn't developed into a manipulative, self-serving person. the way her character always played and fooled the brothers over and over again made her nauseating for the fans to the point that they boycotted her and wanted her off the show. as far as Lucifer and Crowley goes, their characters developed over time. they are annoying at the start but with Bella, her character remained as is and has never shown development, but mainly she became too annoying.

She was supposed to come back several times, including the final season, where she would of had Kevin’s role in saving the boys. Unfortunately due to secluding she was unable to do so.
It would have been amazing if during the series Bela had found John and killed him on Lilith's orders it would have been like a variant of Maggie getting revenge on Negan in an alternate universe

While the character was more annoying and unlikable, there was a chance to redeem the character and develop her forward in future seasons. Killing her off always felt like a cheap copout to get rid of her due to poor fan reaction. It would have been better to save her return for later.

People who love Bella forget she is not just a theif which is bad enough but the amount of people she has hurt is probably spectacular. The people she gets these items for are probably not using them to help people. How many people are probably dead or suffering because of her? She was great in "Bad day at black rock". A very funny episode, especially where the bullet ricochets a great scene, and the lottery tickets a great ending. A great mix of humour along with the usual stuff.
No I would go for Sasha Barrese, Casey the demon in the episode "Sin City" or any of the of the crossroad demons either Jeanette Sousa/Sandra Mccoy, or Genevieve Cortese (Ruby).
From what I remember the hellhounds got her. It was certainly very early in the programme. My favourite episodes with her were the rabbits foot( Bad day at black rock) and the ghost ship (Red sky Morning).
Turns out she had accepted a deal from the yellow eye demon to stop her father from molesting her ... and it's 10 yrs then your bill is due. She tried to steal "the revolver" from Sam & Dean, she bargained for it, but in the end [closing scene] you heard the Hell hounds coming ....
I don’t think the appropriate name for someone who steals stuff and only thinks of herself is “queen” I liked her too but the appropriate name for someone like that is “bitch”

I love Bella so much and miss this character. WC would have been so much better if LC had played Frankie similar to Bella and Jensen played Will. No hate on Scott but these two had way more chemistry.
