My mom passed away last December, and she loved buying clothes, shoes, handbags, jewellery and makeup. Also hairspray, shampoos and cleaning products for around the flat she lived in. She wouldn’t throw birthday or Christmas cards out that the close family had given her over the years. She had even kept my late dads school report from when he left school, and he was 88yrs old when he died. What a sad and stressful time me and my two sons had when it was time to sort it all out. The heart foundation came and took her clothes( 30 black bags full of just clothes, and then there were about 10 coats!!! When it all comes down to it, it’s just STUFF!!🤦♀️ Ornaments, crockery and furniture!!! There is no end to all!!!😢😢😢. I’m trying to sort STUFF out now, so my family don’t have to go through the same night mare when my times up!😩🙏🏻❤️
Me too when my mum died it took days to sort out her stuff it was all stressful I don't keep stuff that is basically pointless exactly for the reason I don't want my daughter to have to sort through and go through what I did when my mum died, I have a, clear out every 6 months 🙏 I hope wherever my mum is and all the mums that have gone are in a good place ❤️
Hi Kim one item in one item out. My mother in law passed last August so we had to combine her house with ours. We had limited time as it was a rented property and had to give the keys back. She was a minimalist so made our job so much easier. I think it also helps with mental health having less clutter. Enjoy your week lots of love xx
Hi Kim, you lucky lady, the ballet eh! I love the ballet. Many years ago I travelled to London to stay with an opera singer acquaintance of mine, so we could attend Sleeping Beauty in Covent Garden, it was magical. And, it was my first taste of hummus and pitta bread , as well as taramasalata, at a Greek restaurant in Wood Green. It was my first time in London, and on the underground I got invited to dinner by a business man !!!! He only reached to my chin, and I could have crushed him as I was a big girl at the time.
Spring is in the air and I think everyone seems to be clearing out especially when you get a bit older I’m 60 n the amount of cds videos n books I’ve got to get donate is unbelievable, but once you’ve done it you do feel better. Me n hubby are thinking of downsizing so it’s a must, my healths not great n I struggle with my house now all the kids are gone, but their clutter is still here they never seem to want to take it !!! Wonder why 🤣 Glad you had a nice Mother’s Day it’s much better spending time with them n going out for treats
I live in a flat, too, Kim, though it's larger than yours. I have so much 'stuff' that it's piled up all over the place and I can never find what I want (sometimes resulting in me buying a duplicate). Like you, I have paints and other art and craft things, and want to use them, but have no room to do anything. I have got rid of some things and have tidied part of my living room. But my problem is that I don't have the space to do the sorting - I need somewhere to put the things while I'm sorting them! I really need to just start somewhere small, and work from there, I think.

Hi Kim 👋, I love minimal 😍, good for you. I had a lovely weekend. Being from Ireland 🇮🇪 we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day on the Friday & Mother’s Day on the Sunday d so I milked it & I got spoiled. Delighted you had time with your children, time & making memories that’s what it’s about 😍😍😍.
Happy Mother's day Kim,,,,my happiest times are spent with my adult children and grandchildren oh now even great grandchildren..My mom passed away in 1991 but I still wish I could call her and just say thank you again for being so good to me and your grandchildren.......I'm also starting to clear out many things,,stuff I haven't used or warned for a long time...enjoyed the chat session .

I was not well Saturday so when l woke up Sunday I had roses and a new vase plus had gifts from family and husband I would rather have time with my kids
Hi Kim, Happy belated Mother's Day 😊 so glad you got to spend some quality time with your kids, our mothers day is in May. I don't like clutter, and specially small ornaments, that would drive me nuts 😅
Does your contract say you cannot strip the paper or change colours my contract says we cannot have pets but must keep the flat clean and decorated that we cannot change bathrooms and kitchens without consent
Not sure why you would invest money in a property you don't own or will benefit from financially by doing up bathrooms or kitchens, OK painting walls but I would be asking the landlord to buy the paint 🙏
My daughter rented for a while and she got the landlord to do the decorating, I didnt blame her, why should she spend her own money on a property she didn't own?
I think that when you live alone your grown kids arent comming to see you or your not envited to theirs,thats where it started for me,i was allways cleaning when i had the kids,but an emty nest,i wasent taught to treat myself so its allways house stuff its so frustrating because you know you dont have a need for it,but its a replacement i never went out much atal im even worse now i want to go out but im nervous on my own,ive tried online courses drive you mad 😁and i do declutter but if i had my way id dump the lot 😅its just that little 5 mins of happiness,then your family will want to shame you oh you have loads of stuff,well i wouldent if you called around to see me,instead waiting to tell everyone how a bad hoarder i am ,dont they know thats how it starts,they left?? Rant over 🤣🤣im still going to stop buying house stuff and look after myself more thats what i should have done,our upbringing too, has a lot to do with it stayen in to clean the house mams grans aunts sisters 🙃 great to see you kim you make me feel normal 🥰💐happy belated mothers day..xx
