Great video ! Love the training videos of Kai. I just got a 2mth old belgian mali and your videos are so helpful. I have a question, what do you use as treats during your training sessions and when do you have training sessions? Thanks

I always use different kinds of treats, from chicken, boiled eggs, apples, etc. But as Kai grew older, I often use toys for his reward (his play drive > food drive). For 2 months old Kai's training sessions, I'd say 3-5 times a day, 10 minutes per session (just keep it short). When your pup's older you can lengthen the duration of each session. Now we can have a 2 hours frisbee session at the park without him getting exhausted 😂

@@PawtyTime omygosh 2hrs without getting exhausted? For just a year old belgian? I hope my puppy's fetch would be perfect in time so atleast I could exercise him even at home. There's no such thing as dog park here so there's no way for me to exercise my dog like that. How much time do you suggest to physicaly exercise or walk a turning 4 month old belgian?

@@jennyarrmagsipoc9159 yeah Kai sure doesn't have an off switch 😂 and my friends that also have Maligators would also agree. Ummm for physical exercise, I only limit Kai's jumping and running during the first few months

First things first.. patience 😂 baby maligators are going to bite bite bite for the first 6 months. Other than that, consistent daily obedience training, walks and as he grew older, daily exercise to burn their energy 😆.

I know this is pretty random but hiw di you get him to heel on the lead .I've tried everything with my mali but she persists her temperament completely changes on the lead she becomes even more stubborn even treats dont work . Sorry for the essay .I love your videos and find them very helpful

I definitely understand what you're dealing with, Kai wasn't always a nice walker too! My answer will sound very simple, yet the result will take some time. What I did was I will keep changing the direction everytime he pulls me. No matter what, I would keep changing the direction when he pulls. I also bring treats, and reward him if he did a great job. The next one you can consider is bringing her favorite toy on your walk, you can hide it first, and pull it out to have a short playing session during your walks. Those were the things I did, and I would say it will take time but be patient, the day will come! I hope this helps! 🙏😆

What is the best dog food that you believe is was the better option for your belgian?

It's difficult for me to give suggestion since I'm no expert at nutrition and stuffs, but I do give him dry kibbles and mix it up with chicken breasts (sometimes raw sometimes cooked). I couldn't specify what brand we are using, but some dog food brands are decent, while some others are very bad! Some people gave honest reviews on youtube, you can go check them out! Serving homemade dog food can be very beneficial, but it does require extra time and effort, and since I have quite many mouths to feed in the house, I prefer giving my boys dry kibbles, which I do believe has a balanced nutrition, plus chicken for training treats, or just for dinner :D.

All my past GSD were as equal as smart and fast learners as my present Malinois. Both are great breeds to follow commands, it depends more on you than them
