@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders thank you for visiting our country! ❤️ But there can't be opinions about Kosovo - Kosovo is de jure a part of Serbia and will stay that way forever.
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders if you say that, you are not welcome in Republic of Kosova 🇦🇱,it's same like I say sweden norway finland ( I don't know where u from) are all Russian land
Hey! I’m traveling to Serbia next week and was wanting to a couple of things. It would be great to hear your thoughts (thanks in advance :) ) : Do you know of any well-kept local secret places I should definitely check out? I heard city centres and outdoor markets usually sell food at inflated prices. Where do locals shop? Where can I get the food that they do? Also, how do Serbians commute between places? I hear the local transport can be a little erratic at times! Thanks again! Looking forward to getting your input!

@@emiliasanchez3637 Well hello and wellcome. Hmm Belgrade Kalemegdan park (old ruins of a castel), St. Sava Church(a very beautifull monument), Nikola Tesla museum maybe. Outdoor markets provide naturall grown food, groceries no GMO.So that maybe the reason for the prices to be a little bigger but still very afordable for people coming here. The food by its self anywhere is pretty top quallity(truing not to make it look like am braging, but it just is, look into more videos people from US coming and trying the food, youl see their reaction). Taxi is not that expencive, but if your just want to look around the city, do it by foot, because of trafic, it can take some time at some parts of the day.Alot of people here are Multilingual speak at least one, two languges beside english, so ask around, people are optimistic to help you around. I dont know what else i could help you out with. Its a peacfull coutry with multicolturism. No wars, very low rate crime.Very safe for women.
@@tristandimitrijev3195 And how do you do usually go from one city to another? Would you suggest I rent a car? What is the restroom situation like along the way? Say I travel from Subotica to Nis
@@emiliasanchez3637 Ouu that tipe of traveling.Just use a buss, like i dont know depends where you re going.1dollar for pass to get on a station, and 2,3 or 4dolllars for a ticket to the other city. Rent a car, hmm if you want the luxury, i dont know how much it is, havent used it.But prices arent that high for the quality of stuff and service you get. When it comes to the restroom when your traveling via buss, you need to keep it in untill the end of the ride, after go to a coffie shop or sports betting place(i dont know how do you call them).even long rides an hour they dont stop, if you rent go to a gass station.I hope the info helped

what a lovely family! its so nice of you how you teach your children about history and show them historical places. Much love to you guys! regards from Serbia
you should also check history about WW2, US and Serbia were allies, serbians saved a lot of US pilots. Type on google '' American Taylor Matthews tattooed on his body, "Freedom or death" in memory'' you will find some nice story by american guy. Love you guys!
Really nice to see that you enjoyed your trip to Belgrade. You should come again when its the situation changes and the weather is warmer. There is soo much more to discover. Stay healthy! :)
18:41 Kosovo is not a country, young lady It is an autonomous province of Serbia although american government alongside EU is trying to make it become fully independent which is against serbian territorial integrity. Cheers.
What a sweet and lovley family😍 Great video girls👍🏼it’s amazing and important how you teach your children about history and culture. welcome to serbia anytime❤️
I'm an American living in Belgrade and I don't see many other Americans here :( so it's really cool watching this and hearing your thoughts about the city :)
I know how you feel. It’s always nice to meet someone from back home. We were only there for a short time. I’m glad you found our channel. I hope you enjoy many of our other videos too! 😉

Graffiti is the oldest expression of Art. Literally all the Art started thousands of years ago when they were drawing animals in the caves. Glad to see your positive comment about it. Some of the murals in Belgrade are mine :) the first one I made was in 1999 during the Nato aggression. It was a crow flying out of his cage. I was 14 then and wanted to fly away from Serbia.
You skipped that Belgrade was also under the rule of Byzantium and Medieval Serbia. From the Romans, you immediately went to the Ottoman Empire and skipped more than 1000 years of the city's history. :) What you have shown are not the ruins of the 1999 NATO bombing, but you can find them near the fortress in the center of the city.
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders glad to hear that, but never walk in the streets alone with your kids, you should get a tourist guide before you try to visit any place so you can enjoy your time safely
Hi Yousef, Hope all is well. We are planning our trip now to Egypt and I wanted to check and see if you had any other suggestions or recommendations for places to visit. Warm regards.
I remember going through the former Yugoslavia in 1988 from Greece back to London on my big OE. It was so cold the coolant in the car radiator froze overnight, never seen that before. and we also got caught by police for overtaking on a double yellow line only just as it was starting, they took our passports and wouldnt give them back until we gave them cash which we didnt have cause we were about to cross the border.
When you see them(graffiti) on the road signs, it screams rebellion 😂😂 Don't worry graffiti here in Serbia are something we are used to and seeing them in a certain neighbourhood doesn't mean that its unsafe
Tito was a socialist, and though there were many good things that came out from him to the betterment of Yugoslavia, there were plenty of repression and such (his system of economy is communism that ultimately owned indirectly by the state, though his system was more lax - wouldn't call it free market - Do have to remember that communists do have their own system of "free market" which is to invite capital through multinational corporations and millionaires and billionaires elites into investment to generate revenue for the state to continue to repress the masses). He could be a benevolent dictator but a dictator nonetheless. He did fight with the USSR on many occasion, but they are different side of the same coin - The EU(SSR) is the successor to the USSR in term of suprnational communistic technocratic system.
Croats are Catholic Serbs 🇷🇸. And Tesla was from serbian lika and Parents where Orthodox Christian Serbs. Ustaša croats killed Tesla's family later....
Croatia did not exist when Tesla was born, Croatia is young country first time in history established by Nazi Germany 1941 (there is no evidence in the Europe about Croatia, anybody can check it, just go to any European museum take look in the maps there is no Croatia at any historical period before 1941 ) , during that WW2 period period Nazi puppets-Croatian forces called Ustashi killed 90 members of Tesla family .Today Croatia kept insignia and flag from 1941 (during WW2).In Croatia is still legal to use same Nazi military salute what they used during WW2.
Just a note on a Geography side when you stand of a Belgrade fortress you are standing on a edge of Balkans peninsula as Balkans end at the bank of River Also the Tito was a Communist dictator who was responsible for many murders of his own people
Nikola Tesla is from Croatia, not from Serbia (born in Smiljan, Croatia). He was serbian nationality but in his life he visit just one time Serbia (for 2days). He was proud on his Croatian homeland.
Graphiti is on everything in Serbia and it's the one bad thing that harms its great beauty. It's really a mystery why the youth want to destroy the beauty of their home so much. They don't have terrible crime or anything just Graphiti
First of all you havent tried Serbian food at all....Food you tried is considered fastfood in this country. Also your understanding of our history is so wrong and your facts are so out of touch with reallity..
We were in Belgrade in last November and ya Belgrade is surprising specially with its food we went to Amber and Communal both places and it's food was amazing but desserts were really something no one should miss
Lovely vlog! Funny story: I know four Danish friends who visited Belgrade for a holiday, and decided to stay there. Now they are living there. It’s such an interesting, vibrant and beautiful city with amazing people and culture!
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders They do. I realized just now that this video is a re-upload and that you have been traveling all around the world. But if you ever come back to the Balkans, you should pay Sombor and Subotica a visit as well. Those two cities - and northern Serbia in general - is so much different than Belgrade. Very green and relaxing. Hope you enjoyed Belgrade when you visited. Glad to hear and see that you know where to go and have read the history beforehand. Real passionate tourists! :))
Wtf. Who normal would move from denmark to belgrade. They are probably on some social benefits or something so they can’t afford to live in denmark. They can live in nigeria also
@@jebanje23 Believe me: everyone with Danish standards can live in Denmark. But here I am not talking about the financial aspect. I’m talking about the beauty and spirit of Serbia and Serbians from what I have experienced. That is something that defines that nation.
