Heads up guys, I didn't know the episode title when I watched this. If I had, my whole bit about the song "video killed the radio star" would have been different because Vivienne was obviously doing the exact bit that I wonder about - Sam
For the record - they got the same voice actor for Sir Pentious as they had for Adam. Alex Brightman I'm certain is the name. Yeah - he was Beetlejuice in the musical of 'Beetlejuice' from a few years ago, and he's been in Hazbin's sister show 'Helluva Boss' (mostly as the imp Fizzarolli I think).
Fun fact about Vox, he died in the 1950s and originally had CRT TV head but he eventually updated it to a flat screen later on and while Alastor only likes the technology up to his time period (1930s) Vox has always kept up with and adapted newer technology throughout the decades. Hence why Velvet, who is an icon of social media as well as fashion has been part of the Vees since she arrived in Hell which was some time in the 2010s. Also, Valentino died in the 1970s which is why he sports that classic pimp look.
I would recommend checking out Angel's Addict MV and it's post-credit scene. It was released a while after the OG pilot and gives a little more insight into his character. Also yes, the point of the scripted roleplaying was to help teach Sir Pentious how to say "no" to sin 😅. Like how they would teach young kids not to do drugs, underaged drinking, or give in to peer pressure (at least back in my day).
Am I the only one who got Hades vibes from Vox? I mean true they are completely different characters but when Vox got angry before calming down or especially at 7:50-7:59 when Vox found out about Alastor the Radio Demon at the Hotel and being angry at Valentino for telling him, it’s very similar to how Hades acted in the actual movie.
There actually are several levels (or rather Rings) of Hell, but Sinners (aka human souls like Alastor that went to Hell after dying as opposed to demons that were born down there like Charlie, Imps, Succubi, Hellhounds, etc) can't visit the other ones You can see more of those different Rings in Hazbin's sister series on RU-vid: Helluva Boss The Rings of Hell are based on the 7 Deadly Sins, with each being ruled over by an embodiment of each Sin, these Sins/Rulers are: Lucifer for Pride (he's also the King of all of Hell) Asmodeus (aka Ozzie) for Lust Beelzebub (aka Bee) for Gluttony Satan for Wrath (yes, Lucifer and Satan are separate beings) Mammon for Greed Leviathan for Envy Belphegor (aka Bell) for Sloth
The actor they got for Vox - Christian Boyle. He was in the OBC (Original Broadway Cast) for 'Spamalot', 'Something Rotten', 'Legally Blonde: The Musical' (as Emmett), 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (there's the London Cast and the Broadway cast, with a few different songs, both fun to listen to though) and most recently the musical version of 'Some Like It Hot' (different to the Billy Wilder 50s movie 'Some Like It Hot' but basically the same plot, and 'Some Like It Hot' is already such an iconic movie that you'd have to make some changes to prevent being called a pale copy of it - if you haven't see it, check it out.....the movie that is before giving the soundtrack to the musical a listen).
11:47 If you want to see something deeply unnerving but VERY WELL DONE, there are 3D rendered animations of this bit of the song. The 3D models make these demons even creepier than I thought they could look, especially Alastor.
5:37 An interesting trait of Valentino's is that he switches between an American accent and a Latino one (his nationality and ethnicity aren't solidly confirmed, just that he's "latin-inspired" and that Vivziepop named him after her cat who passed away.) You can hear the difference better at 17:36 ALSO, when he gets angry he squeaks like a real moth, since he's a moth demon.
Vox - if you have to show how powerful you are, it means you're not that powerful. We'll see different version of powerful people in this show, including about who flexes and how much.
5:35 Remember in the pilot when Angel Dust got out of someone's car and told him to keep it discreet and that it was just a quick cash grab? Well remember also when we were going around hell watching how various people reacted to the end of the cleanse? We saw The V's tower there, saw Velvette (with a different hairstyle) start posting photos of herself and Vox, and we saw Valentino on the phone. If you freeze-frame the shot focusing on the texts, he's been texting Angel - he's the one who made him get that 'quick cash grab'. He's Angel's pimp. And the guy who makes his movies.
@@samandmariachannel No worries. Vox just mentions that Alastor has been gone for seven years, which is also how long it’s been since Charlie has seen her mom. Not a spoiler or anything, just something to think about for the next season.
6:36 Vox says Val still has Angel under contract. His contract says Val can "do anything to Angel while Angel is in the studio." Angel USED TO live in the studio, but for the past few weeks he's been living at the Hotel so Val can't "do" anything to Angel when he's not there. That doesn't stop Val from harassing and threatening Angel to work (much more heartbreaking stuff on that in episode 4, Masquerade, 😭😭😭) but for now the Hotel is Angel's safest place. But Val still owns Angel's soul and knows his real name.
What Vox feared came true. I wonder if the deal bet. Alastor and Charlie will have something to do with Vox since the Vees will be the main villains in s2
Just a tidbit on sinners, they’re ageless basically really hard to fully kill, they can regenerate if not completely destroyed and also be killed during extermination. This only applies to sinners sent to hell, the hellborn age and can be easier to destroy. Love the reactions, thanks for uploading them even tho copyright claims will be a headache ❤
So next up: 6 more episodes of 'Hazbin Hotel' season 1 8 episodes of 'Helluva Boss' season 1 and currently 9 episodes of 'Helluva Boss' season 2 - they're releasing the next few in a couple of months, takes a while to get everything together.
Something that I think is interesting to note about this episode is how childish Charlie’s idea of “goodness” is and how ill-equipped she is to deal with someone like Angel. Not only are his issues severe, but demonizing and simplifying his struggles with addiction and sex work hurt him in a way that’s not conducive to healing. All it did was make him feel more alone.
yes i think that is charlie's flaws intended by writers and vivziepop. her kindness and forgiveness works in situation of sir pentious because all he needed is someone who truly cares and forgives him. However it is difficult for charlie to understand sinners especially angel who has complicated history because she has never lived as humans before and the essential meaning of rehabilitation cannot be found in hell and even from angels who do not know how sinners can go up to heaven. erika who plays charlie says this series is a journey of charlie's mental growth and i'm quite looking forward to it.
Well, that's how it seems on the surface. But if Al really didn't care, he wouldn't have fought back. He walked out of the tailors expecting people to be paying attention to him but saw them watching Vox talk crap. He then broadcasts his first radio broadcast in years to start a fight that he knows he can win by getting Vox so riled up that he crosses over to his radio waves and can shut him down with a virus, then finishes by taunting him that he's just getting started. Al most definitely cares, he's just good at making his enemies seem so weak by comparison.
The song started with Vox telling Al he's gonna make him wish he'd stayed gone and it ends with Al using the same sentence against him. The ultimate uno reverse card lmao
