Belinda Carlisle performing "I Get Weak" from a special edition of Club MTV filmed at the home of a MTV contest winner in Adams, Mass in August of 1988.
I (JUST) CAN'T FIND THE RIGHT WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW MUCH I MISS THE 80s! Since January 1, 1990, what I find sad or disappointing is that EVERYTIME we say or said, "Happy new year!," we move(d) FURTHER and FURTHER AWAY from the 80s. I've said this BEFORE and I'll say it, AGAIN, the '80s, WERE, and ALWAYS WILL BE, "THE PINNACLE OF CIVILIZATION!"
Wow how smooth the transition from the MC to the opening of the song. Fans must be thrilled with the event, they were really close to the artists who performed on the stage. What an great era for music ❤😘👍🏼👍🏼
What the hell are you writing about? What is absolutely perfect for you?!? A sound like from a fair, a voice like coming from the bottom of a well, and a girl who has no idea how to sing, but screams? Vibrato like a machine gun! Your education is at an "enviable level". It is immediately obvious that you have not even passed a music school.

This is how MTV was originally : Music Television. I'm glad that you're sharing these tapes so today's young can compare them with the current so-called "MTV". Thank's God we have RU-vid !
when I think about Belinda Carlisle voice she is close in tone to Stevie Nicks in my opinion. Never saw it until recently her songs had strength throughout.
…and they share the same producer for the vast bulk of their solo work. Stevie Nicks recommended Rick Nowels to Belinda Carlisle, and a heavenly musical match was made!!
THIS reminds me of a contest, back in 1984, when MTV and Quiet Riot, authorized an MTV "Metal Christmas!" I DID send in an entry form or two, but, UNFORTUNATELY, DIDN'T WIN!
@@PS-ru2ov She was in the grade behind me in school. I certainly knew who she was, but we weren't friends. I was 21 at the time, so she would have been 20 or 21.
I was there, albeit on the outside of the fence! From what I heard from those who were around her, Belinda wasn't exactly in the best of moods that day to begin with. I do remember she was supposed to do something else...not necessarily another song, but maybe an interview (I don't quite remember)...but Julie Brown announced that Belinda wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be doing it. Maybe she simply wasn't feeling well, but you could tell she wasn't really into this just by her body language. Just came on the stage, did what she had to do, and left.
