After spending many hours watching tests like yours, I finally maxed him. As it’s been almost six years since this game was released, you don’t need op commanders in every cycle. You need to close the gap between old and new commanders. That’s why they released the museum system, that’s why they released Beli P; a similar lvl cav commander (power wise), not op but niche role skills. So players can take a breath and be easier to fix their starting line up marches instead of chasing the cycles. I’m running three cav marches and tend to swarm things a lot so it was a relatively easy decision. For someone who is running less than three marches, Nevsky Joan Huo and William are in the pole position. I believe that is the strategy that the developers will follow at least for the next year or so regarding commander releases; a very good rally or garrison commander and a not op open field commander that will have a good niche role skill (buffing or debuffing).

This is the right way to test Commander like him. Swarm with 5 Marches a enemy march down. Check the Time, how fast you killed and how much troops you lost. Then replace a Commander with the new one and test it again. That Beli Prime 12% dmg doesnt work so well is bcs of RoK's Battle Math. Every swarm march lost the Counter dmg. So the white dmg from swarm marches drops round about 50%, so also the skill dmg drops 50% from your 4 Marches. Belli's Expertise give you now max. 12% back. Your white and your skill dmg is now just 38% lower.

What cav marches is best for 1x1?

Everyone: "Nevsky is dated and overrated" Nevsky: *Consistently performs the best of all cav comms in all metrics, all scenarios* Everyone: "omg, so surprising!"

I don't agree with the take "I would target Nevsky before Huo". Nevsky is tankier and also doesn't deal as much dmg as Huo, therefore you would want to target the Huo first, so you can kill the bigger dmg dealer that is less tanky first

Who won: huo+beli vs huo+nev?

Shappy, dont give bad advice bro. Belisarius is a bad investment for lowspenders and f2p. He is made for whales. For the f2p and low spenders, Its not realistic to run 3 marches of the same troop type in the current meta anymore. Your 3rd march will always suffer the disadvantage of the "3rd best" Cav march against the opponent's best marches. Tests indicated that its best to run 2-2-1 ratio for troop type. Your 3rd "best" Cav pair will always lose to enemy's using the meta marches.
