Belize City - Walking To The ferry (1/2) December 2016
I arrived in Belize City and walked to the ferry terminal to see where it was and to buy a ticket.
Belize was the last country for me to visit before I could say I have been to every country in the Americas. Although I have only been in Venezuela for 4 hours.

I’m an American that recently moved to Belize City and so far I love it. People here have been so nice and welcoming even though I’m the only white person I’ve seen since being here so I look like I don’t belong from the get go. I’m still not comfortable going out at night unless I’m with my landlord that grew up here but I’m hoping with time as people get to know me and that I’m here to stay that will change. As always thanks for the great video.

I'm planning to visit Belize in 2019. I want to check out the country, both Belize City and the Cayo region, as a place to move in a few years. Any other insights you would want to share would be appreciated.

It is a very old city that started out as a settlement. The land had to be " built up " because of it's close proximity to the ocean and the composition of soil. This is the one of the main reasons why you do not see any tall structures is Belize. Also, Belizean laws prohibit the erection of buildings taller than 12 floors, I think . I can be wrong about the number of floors but most likely no more than 20 stories is allowed. This is also true in many other places in the world, but is mostly due to not having tall buildings obscure / hide the beauty of the older historic buildings.

I didn't stay long. I had to prepare myself to be in the U.S. before Christmas. So I was only in Belize for 3 nights. I was in Belize City 1 night, Caye Caulker 1 night and San Pedro 1 night. Caye Caulker was my favorite.

Yes, I should have. I honestly wasn't talking much in my videos until maybe 10 months ago. I was actually going to make a video of walking around Belize City at night, because I did walk around at night. But, I did feel pretty uncomfortable doing so.
