BIRTH OF BELL VIDEO • Birth of the Bell Heli... This video is related to show the stabilizer bar components, functions and how the stab bar works during flight. The stab bar function is very similar in all the models that use it.
Could not have explained it better!I got to watch lots of UH-1's land & takeoff as a child, amazing machines..I had them figured out @ 5 yrs old but didn't have proper vocabulary! I loved that rotor system, collective/cyclic LOWER mix, stabilization mix @ top..body can move under "stable" rotor..almost like a load on a stable cargo hook, or a beam crane! Great MECHANICAL stabilization vs current electronic gyro inputs (that reduces weight & "mechanical" maintenance)
Hello. I have a question. So if the pilot applies 60 % and it takes 5 sec to the stab bar to give the other 40%, what happens when the pilot finishes the maneuver before that 5 sec? the stab bar will continue giving the 40 % after it is no longer needed producing an undesirable banking/pitch?
You answered yourself that question. The only way the pilot " can finish the maneuver he wants " is after the whole process takes effect and you have 4 to 6 sec and you said 5 sec so is withing time. Regards
