I remember doing those fast dance moves back in the day and sweating like crazy. Never had to worry about obesity and having weight problems dancing like that. Miss those days....
I'm definitely bringin' this style back. Stocking up on vintage coats and shirts. Lol. People have been saying the 90's fashion is making a comeback and they may be right.
Artistes from the 80s to early 90s were worth every penny they earned because they entertained the hell out of us. They sang, danced, rapped and dropped some incredible beats. You could listen to a whole album and be entertained. These days you are lucky if an album has 1 memorable song!
When this song came out in my final year in high school, seems like it was an anthem. It was played EVERYWHERE and EVERYDAY. It hit like a big wave, that's after Bobby had spoiled us for two years with HIS album.
Man, this jam was so freaking big! As soon as that drumbeat started, there was like a mad rush for the dancefloor at the clubs I used to go. And the whole club would be singing along to it too.
Yep, 100%! My girlfriends and I used to hear this at the clubs too, back in the early 90s. I really miss the 90s. The impact...man, this song was (still is) HUGE!
When I deliver newspapers I mostly listen to new jack swing songs, every second I want to dance, I seek in this music, I lost the time when I hear it, two hours are like 10 minutes for me and I am only 23 😂
This isn't actually New Jack Swing. Only Teddy Riley and Gene Griffen could do that. This is Hip Hop, smoothed out on the R&B tip, with a pop feel appeal to it.
Omg..Memories This is when a house party was really just about dancing and having fun versus today where people have to worry about being shot. Dang Bring back the 90s pleaseeeeeee
Bell Biv Devo was the shit this is what we grew up on back when we was them 80s babies listening too New Edition back in the early 80s when we was kids!!!🤗🤗🤗
These guys got a song that will last forever, and their telling you facts in the music this is still a head of it's time, and will still rock the dance floor 💯💯
Man I remember the 90s as being a time when no one gave a duck about what clothes they wore.. Including these guys in the video I mean sweaters and Nike shoes
So happy to have been born at the right time to enjoy these guys at their 'peak'... Saw NE w/ and w/out Bobby and JG perform live several times and they put on a helluva show! Can't wait to have the pleasure of seeing them in concert again. NE4LIFE!
I was 7 years old when this joint came out. And whenever I watched the video, I would NOT only dance to it but also fantasized about looking like the women in the video and being hooked up with Ronnie Devoe...lol Memories...memories...memories.
That dance that Ricky breaks out into at 2:09 is literally the best part of this video. I feel like there’s always somebody that breaks out and starts dancing like that at every Black family function. 😂😂😂
This song is telling us beginners that are trying to get a girl that be careful some girls are just deceiving scheming and just plain bad and will break your hearts guys. So watch out there's a lot out there.
It's 2020 and RU-vid comments are still flooded with what year it is and how "real" music isn't made anymore. Go out and look for it lazy, there's so many artists out there directly inspired by this shit. GO LOOK
My friend ashleigh and I are the only ethnic kids in our US history class. So my history teacher told us to pair up and and bring a song that represents our two different cultures. I'm Mexican and she's black and so we both agreed to do this song and it got the whole class pumped up. Thank god for black culture!
My dad used to always play this song on the radio. I love it so much. My parents always say that I was born in the wrong era. They say I would have loved the 80's and 90's.
Damn..16 yrs old and I listen to music like this more than this new Skool..can someone build me a time machine so I can personally experience this era?
When the dropped everybody picked it up. This 12 inch was a weapon on the dancefloor, everybody knows exactly what it is and woman would start screaming. I played this constantly over the next decade nobody got tired of it.
I was just randomly going through the older songs that I really liked as a kid, and realized how much better music was back then. These guys are amazing!
[Michael Bivins:] Yeah, Spiderman and Freeze in full effect [Ronnie DeVoe:] Uh-huh [Ricky Bell:] You ready, Ron? [DeVoe:] I'm ready [Bell:] You ready, Biv? [Bivins:] I'm ready, Slick, are you? [Bell:] Oh, yeah, break it down [Verse 1: Ricky Bell] Girl, I, must (Warrrrrn yoooooooooou) I sense something strange in my mind Situation is (seriooooooooous) Let's cure it 'cause we're running out of time It's oh, so (beautifuuuuuuuuul) Relationships they seem from the start It's all so (deadllllllllly) When love is not together from the heart [Hook:] It's drivin' me out of my mind! That's why it's HARD for me to find Can't get it out of my head! Miss her, kiss her, love her (Wrong move you're dead!) [Chorus:] That girl is POISOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON... Never trust a big butt and smile That girl is POISOOOOOOOOOOOOOON... [Kool G. Rap:] ("POISON! ") [Verse 2:] [If I were you I'd take pre-] (-cautiooooooooooooon) Before I start to meet fly girl, you know? 'Cause in some (portiooooooooooons) You'll think she's the best thing in the world She's so - (flyyyyyyyyyyyy) She'll drive you right out of your mind And steal your heart when you're blind Beware she's schemin', she'll make you think you're dreamin' YOU'LL fall in love and you'll be screamin', demon, HOO... [Rap Verse: Ronnie Devoe] Poison, deadly, movin it slow Lookin for a mellow fellow like DeVoe Gettin paid, laid, so better lay low Schemin on house, money, and the whole show The low pro hoe she'll be cut like an aaa-FRO See what you're sayin', huh, she's a winner to you But I know she's a loser (How do you know?) Me and the crew used to do her! POISOOOOOOOOOOOON... [Kool G. Rap:] ("POISON! ") [Mixing of Kool G. Rap's "POISON! "] [Michael Bivins:] I was at the bar, shake, breakin and takin 'em all And that night, I played the wall Checkin out the fellas, the highs and lows Keepin one eye open, still clockin' the hoes There was one particular girl that stood out from the rest Poison as can be, the high power chest Michael Bivins here and I'm runnin' the show Bell, Biv DeVoe [Ronnie laughs] ... now you know! Yo, Slick, blow... [Hook] [Chorus] [B.B.D.: adlibs] Yo' fellas, that was another Dope one... You know what I'm sayin', Mike? Yeah, B.B.D. in full effect Yo', wassup to Ralph T and Johnny G And I can't forget about my boy, B. Brown And the whole NE crew POISOOOOOOOOOON... [Bell harmonies]
Music from back in the day was real. Especially from BBD from Roxbury/ Boston. I went to Northeastern in Boston in the early 90s and urban music was part of that experience. Thank you .😊
Tia H. Amen to that. I'd play this track for 2 days in my car nonstop! Still here. Nothing can compete with music back in the day. The groove was so different. Miss this era.
