It was Bell (Ricky Bell), Biv (Michael Bivins), Devoe (Ronnie Devoe) song, but it featured all the other members of New Edition. That was Johnny Gill at the beginning during the keys part who actually sung all their names. Yes that was Bobby Brown who sung the chorus and rap. And that was Ralph Tresvant who song and was rapping with Bobby. Crazy you didn't notice. Ricky also song all their names in the second verse. This was the first time all 6 members were ever together on one song before New Edition's Home Again album which is the only album to feature all 6 of them. All 6 of them literally just came off of their Legacy Tour celebrating 40 years of New Edition.
Jack all 3 members of Bell Biv DeVoe are from New Edition, this was the first time all 6 members were on a song together, New Edition spawned 3 successful solo careers being Bobby Ralph and Johnny and a successful group being Bell Biv DeVoe, on top of that Michael Bivins (Biv) discovered Boyz II Men and a ton of other artists
@@JackReacts904 It's a remix of a song from Bell Biv DeVoe's "Poison" album. In fact, this remix is the first song to feature all six members of New Edition (even though they're not using the New Edition name).
I LOVE that it's Bell Biv DeVoe, but featuring Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill. The whole gang was THERE!!! And I love that Ronnie mentioned ALL OF THEIR SONGS, EVERYONE'S SONGS (BBD, New Edition, Bobby, Ralph and Johnny's songs). This was GREAT.
It's funny how you describe this music as a mix of hip-hop and R&B. BBD described their music as "hip-hop, smoothed out on the R&B tip with a pop feel - appeal to it"!
2:58 You just described the Bell Biv Devoe sound. This song is BBD featuring Ralph, Bobby and Johnny and it was the first song with all 6 members of New Edition.
Jack, As others said, this has all the members of New Edition. Ronnie's verse before the second rap was a list of some of their hits as a group and solo artists.
Bell Biv Devoe is one half of the six membered New Edition (Ricky Bell, Michael Bivens, Ronnie Devoe). the other 3 are featured in this song Ralph Tresvant (lead singer), Johnny Gill, and Bobby Brown making this this first New Edition song in 2 years (since 1989) and the first New Edition song ever to feature all six members. this is an iconic homecoming.
Jack…This is a reunification song “get right back to where we started from”. Bobby Brown and Bel Biv Devoe branched off from the group New Edition. All six of the NE members are featured in this song and video. In this song, Ronnie rapped the titles of all of the hit solo and group songs of all the members. After their solo careers they came back together to make this song and it’s the first recorded song that featured all six members (the first time Johnny and Bobby were on a song together).
Omgggg this my song. I discovered this song like back in 2011. I like randomly clicked on it and I loved it ever since. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. I miss seeing talent like this now.
FYI….. Bell Biv Devoe is a spin off group of the group New Edition. When Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill left New Edition to peruse solo careers the remaining 3 members of New Edition Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins and Ronnie Devoe formed the Group Bell Biv Devoe. This song was Bell Biv Devoe featuring Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill. Word To The Mutha was all 6 members of New Edition reunited on a song.
The were all members of New Edition. It was the first time all 6 members featured on the same track. Especially as Johnny gill was Bobby browns replacement in the group. This was special because this was remix version. The original on the poison album only had bell biv Devoe on it.
And it is bobby brown & bel biv devoe they yse to be that group New Edition another great classic group. Also have all there music on my playlist also has sentimenta. Would hang out in the cornor when i was young & would go for my dads on the weekend & just sit in the corner making mix cassettes & i be jammin out to new edition. Keep on the good work. Glad your experiencing my old school music thank tou for the memories jack Stay Groovy
Yes, Bell Biv DeVoe, Ralph, Johnny & Bobby's solo careers are just a continuation of my love for New Edition.❤ Other songs you would like Jack is "When Will I See You Smile Again", a slow jam & my favorite from them an up tempo jam "I Thought It Was Me B.B.D."
Hi Jack! Bobby Brown was an original member of the group New Edition. After his falling out with the group, he went solo.Johnny Gill replaced him, and this video is a reunion of sorts, with all the original members of New Edition, plus Johnny Gill.
My favorite reunion video. All members of NE are here. This is the remix off BBD's album. I think thry did the video in their hometown of Boston. Love how Ronnie rapped everyone's solo songs and NE songs. BBD was hip hop smoothed out on the rnb tip with a pop feel to it
Hey! I know I’m late to add this comment but I just saw your reaction to this video. I am sure by now you know the history off BBD and Bobby Brown. Both are members of the super group from Boston New Edition as it says in the video. Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricke Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ralph Tresvant first appeared on the music scene in 1983 with the song and album called Candy Girl. Bobby was put out the group and he began his solo career. After New Edition continued as a four man band. They later added singer Johnny Gill from Washington, DC. Ralph who was the lead singer of NE and Johnny Gill began to work on solo projects the rest of the group on the suggestion of hit producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to form their own group and Bell, Biv, DeVoe (BBD) was formed. The video you reacted to Word To The Mutha! is the first time all 6 members of New Edition collaborated on a song together. In the video you see Ronnie DeVoe with cue cards rapping the titles of hit songs by New Edition, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, and BBD. When doing these reaction videos it’s best if you know the history of the people you are reacting to so you can have a better understanding on these individuals and the history they have.
It’s all the members of New Edition which bore BBD, Ralph Tresvant, Bobby Brown and Johnny Gill. You should check out This Ones For Me and You with all of them. One of the more recent songs, technically Johnny Gills song❤
I was a teenager when this came out and it was the first time they came together on a song. This remix is 1000% better than the original. I miss the days when remixes were a thing. Long live NE
You have been jammin out jack keep on the good work. Another of my favorites & that song has sentimental to me. When this song came out i was a teenager & me & my best friends would hang out cruise & listen to good music & bel biv devoe was one of them. Good groovy song also have it on my playlist. Thank for the good memories jack really appreciate it. Keep on the good work & stay Groovy ✌️
I cannot believe that you didn't notice anyone other than Bobby. IT WAS THE ENTIRE NEW EDITION GROUP!! How did you not pick up on that? It even said it on the screen.
You must don't know anything about New Edition: Bobby Brown, Mike Bivens, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill. Bell Biv DeVoe came from New Edition. Bobby, Ralph and Johnny did solo projects but they are still NEW EDITION. So Word To The Mutha is New Edition.
New Edition started first with Bobby Brown, understand with this group you have so many solo acts because they branched off, me and my best friend was there trying to get on camera. That was a fun day tho.
Bro what is wrong with you, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Ralph Johnny too Are New Edition, BBD is New Edition, Bobby Brown is New Edition. Ralph Tresvant is New Edition. Damn you been doing this long enough not to know Them. Tighten Up.
Let me tell you right now it’s a new addition song that’s why Bobby Brown’s on it Johnny Gill on it I know I’m eight months late, but this is coming from the number one fan
