To Patrick Meyer. I am the person who made this film and did the commentary in situ as I was filming without any aid or knowledge except that which I could see. You weren't there to see or witness the difficult and at times dangerous conditions in the bell tower. Percy Featherstone.
I don't think you don't know what you are talking about. I think you did a fine job of narrating the film. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Thanks for posting it to youtube.
Is this the self an same Vicar arrested on suspicion of trousering cash handed over at funerals? Met him numerous times round the village an always seemed approachable with time for anyone
@SrWilson3s Hi and thanks for the kind message, When did you ring at All Saints, Trevor the tower captain was wondering if he or any of the present ringers would remember you... Cheers Roland
I don't know how much the work for the restoration cost, but regarding the making of the video it didn't cost a penny from anyone. I did it as a project for the then Barnsley and district Video Club. P. Featherstone.
I very much doubt it as the bells were quite unringable in the early 1990s. I noted when I saw these bells in 1974 that the second was being swing chimed and the fittings of the other bells were quite derelict. Ropes were attached to the clapper flights to enable 'clocking.'
