the reason there were comment two weeks before todays posting is because Club Members had a sneaky peak before I made it public. Bella was lucky to have her hooves trimmed by 5x world champion Farrier Steven Beane. 11th August 2020.
Well done. I can see why he's a world champion farrier, he's excellent in his treatment of her and in his skills. It had to be affirming when he complimented you on your care and training (which shows so well). The trim had to feel good to her, she looked so much more comfortable afterward. That early day's comparison image shows how far you've brought her. No hesitation getting in the box both at home and at the farrier. Curiosity, a little anxious, but no fear. Oh, big hugs.
Love how Steve calls Bella missus. What a good job he did and she let him do. Letting him, a complete stranger, pick up her feet, drop noisy instruments next to her, use those instruments on her feet... I am proud of you and her; you did a perfect job preparing her for the entire outing. She took on the entire experience with her usual curiousity; the only thing that gave away her nervousness was that cute snorting. I did laugh and say outloud, are you kidding? Of course I want to watch this video!! I clicked on link fast fast fast... 😄😂😄🥕🥕🥕🐎
Hooray! That was so satisfying to see and watch a Master at work. I missed most of the dialogue because of background noise but clearly this was a success! Bella seemed to mince along on her brand new toes :)) so shiny too! Congratulations!
You'd be forgiven for thinking this is a different filly to the little skinny fireball who arrived not that long ago. I'm so proud of her! She's such a fast learner and she's already growing up so fast! She's a credit to you Tara! You and Rens have done fantastically with her. 🥰

I dont really care for Bella's but I do like Apollo's, but as another commenter said, "fat chance!" HaHa! Tara and Rens like the clean look. They are beautiful lovely horses either way.
Oh dear, I started a disagreement about the feathers. We all know Friesians generally wear their feathers but in this case Tara doesn't like them so they are gone. Yes, Bella is an Andalusian, not a Friesian. I was hoping to persuade Tara to keep them for Bella even tho' I knew the chance was slim. She won't. She doesn't like them. I think they make her feet look like she is wearing high heels. 👠
What a difference a pedicure has done to her foot placement!. You could see as you walked her out of the barn she noticed the change in her feet and placed them down gingerly at first, her feet have perfect shape now and the oiling was just icing on the cake. I love her shorty grunts as she explored the barn. She was probably wondering where all the new horses she could smell were hiding, lol. Best of all, your smile when you finally could relax and bask in the success of all the hard work put in to her first successful pedi!.......so proud!. Well done to all involved! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😁❤️👍👍
It looks like she’s getting dapples! What a good farrier. He was quick, quiet and professional. All of your work building her foundation has paid off, and the farrier’s manner kept it a good experience.
I thought she was getting dapples too!! But I wasn’t quite sure. I think next Spring after months of TLC and a happy home life those dapples are going to sparkle!
Little Miss Twinkle Toes has had her first ‘pedicure’ and she did spectacularly! She is a completely different horse from the one that came to you 8 weeks ago. What a good girl she is! What a testimony to the love and care she has received from you, Rens, Steve and her four-legged brothers of all shapes and sizes. I just love that smile on your face....it says it all! considering how people were doubting your ability to handle her at one point, partly due to the videos that were shown in a bad light from another youtube author, you've truly shown them how patience and your abilities have proved them wrong. She'll go back to that farrier next time with no issues. You two are going to have a fantastic relationship together.

Fantastic!!! Its all come from the grpund work youve done with her Tara. Firm but fair. My little dartmoor filly was wild as was born on the moor,and I did exactly the same ground work as you. Its only fare to the farrier and the horse. You look chuffed to bits,its a lovely feeling isnt it!

Congratulations Tara you have prepared her beautifully for her first trip to the farrier. All that work was so well worth it for both Bella and the farrier. Some people do no prep and expect the poor farrier to manhandle them resulting in a bad experience. She took it all in her stride I was really proud of her and she's not even my horse lol. She is coming along beautifully and is going to be a stunning horse that you should be very proud of.

Wow, I’m sure I speak for everybody when I say she did excellently. Tara, you did an incredible job getting her ready, for this big day through your training methods. She must feel so much better. Also, I can believe how alert she is. The way she noticed even that the ground she was stepping onto was different. You’ve got a winner there. She had us all nervous that she might balk at having a stranger handle her feet but she came through it like a champion. Bella’s going to make you proud. She’s one smart little cookie!
Oh I have longed to see her tiny hoofies all trimmed up and pretty! I bet she feels different, this was a VERY good experience for her! I am so pleased for her and relieved. That very first visit with the farrier, a developmental MILESTONE :) I was so proud for you Tara (and Rens and Steve and Ike) with all the work and love and so much CARE taken to make sure she would be ready and safe for herself and the Farrier. She was MARVELOUS! I think it could not have gone better, thank our lucky stars and all your constant "little and often" training with her paid immense dividends this day :) So pleased just over the moon happy! We had one farrier come trim our horse...he whacked her on her side with the rasp when she was fidgeting...LAST time we used him!! I cannot tolerate that! We finally found a great farrier and stuck with him! I am so glad she had a good experience! Now she's going to have to get used to walking on those new feet. Great job...and in just 8 weeks! 🤯😊

I just noticed Bella has a dappled coat. She's being really good for the first time. I have a little trouble understanding the farrier - he has that thick Yorkshire accent doesn't he?
@@rozwood1668 Even though I have some Yorkshire ancestry it IS thick for me. Years ago I watched All Creatures Great and Small, every episode, and I ALMOST got so I could understand the farmers, but only almost.

She is a beautiful, healthy, happy, confident, trusting young filly blooming in front of our eyes. She totally loves you, Rens, Steve, Ikey, Apollo and Farouk. 💓💓💓💓💓💓 Bella realized Steven was doing something for her benefit. Tara i must say that I really admire your approach to training your horses. Letting them learn at their own pace, giving multiple cues for various commands especially verbal cues, being firm but fair, and I also appreciate the fact that you explain what you're doing, why you're doing it and you do it to where anyone, horse person or not, can understand what you're talking about. Also, many people don't know that horses can learn verbal cues and not even need a physical one to perform a task. Val, the man i worked for as a teen that bred and raised Arabians, told me that Arabs can easily learn 40+ verbal commands and i taught my OTTB about a dozen or so. I'm glad to see that Bella has learned to seek you out for reassurance and confidence when the boys aren't around. Very noticeable when you unloaded her at the farrier's house. She has truly come a long way in a very short time thanks to you. I can't wait to see how she continues to grow and learn and develop in your very capable hands. I've watched a ton of your videos and can see a big difference in the boys as well even though they were much more tame and mature when you got them. Is it my imagination. or is Bella's coat beginning to dapple? She did GREAT..you must have been so pleased with her confidence (thanks to your careful preparation) She wasn't even put off by the cat that scampered past..since it is mentioned below..I too am interested in her feathers..when you first got her, they were like thick pom poms on the back of her pasterns...now they seem much less...?? Where did all that puff go? Was it part of her baby coat? I have been anxious to see how she'd do on trim day, ty
Bella did so well, especially considering that this is the first time for anyone really spending a lot of time on her feet and how frightened she was of everything when she came to you. Tara, you've done such an impressive job bringing her along.
Good morning Tara, Bella’s cute little snorts & while Bella’s having her spa shower 🚿 she sounds like she is tap dancing with her hooves on the cement pavement in between snorting. Well done Bella 🍎🍎 getting into the horse box & off to have a pedicure. All these strange smells at the farrier’s & getting Bella use to it, Well done Tara you’ve taught Bella very well, it certainly makes the job easier for the farrier. She was a star - she really handled that well! Of course Steven is also a star with how easily he handles all sorts of horses, but Bella even seemed to anticipate lifting the next foot a couple of times. I was looking forward to watching this first-time process, and it went much better than I thought! I think she'll be a bit more graceful in her movements with her newly-trimmed feet - less clomping and more gliding :-)

I'm not surprised at all at how well Bella behaved! A little star🌟like I'd guessed she would be all thanks to you Tara! A brand new place, new people, new sounds and all new sensations and strange things happening to her hooves... I don't think you could ask for a more brave and clever girly. I knew her hooves were very overgrown but I think her standing on the concrete there gave a much clearer view of just how badly overgrown they were. She's bound to feel immensely better with all of the overgrowth finally gone. And now she knows the farrier is not such a bad place to visit 😉🖤💜🧡🌸
BELLA was so good throughout the whole ordeal. The gentleman sure knows his business. Her first pedicure and now she has those "GINGER RODGERS" ankles ! Very becoming . I'm sure she'll catch APOLLO and FAROUKS eye ! I often wonder, how the horses in the wild deal with their hooves when they don't have this done. BELLA has no problem at all now with the trailer.
