Today marked the official opening day of the next-gen Amazonia Intamin rapids ride inside the brand new Mundo Amazonia area at Bellewaede Park. Footage captured by ‪@ZaraDKyt‬
Amazonia features lifts, a halfpipe element on a rapids ride and a sudden free fall drop of 5M as riders ride the 540m of track with a ride time of around six minutes!
14 boats 8 persons per boat
120cm min height limit
1000 capacity per hour

Who’s gonna put one of these inside a show building first? That final element inside with effects and theming would be amazzinngg. I immediately thought of a Goonies ride, imaginee. Ty for the upload didn’t even know these where a thing and one was being built 😂🤦

Whoa, that final elevator is cool! However, considering the lack of seatbelts I’m waiting for the moment a guest will think the ride is over at this point , stand up and hurt him/herself.

@Funfair2304 sure, but some people might be scared and try to get out, or simply dumb (do NOT underestimate the potential dumbness of theme park guests). Or maybe some teenagers acting stupid. A seatbelt would at least show people that they should stay in their seat.

People here in the United States would do something like that. However, people in other countries are smarter than us and have much more relaxed rules because people in other countries don't act as stupid as people do in the united states. It's the same thing when you go to a water park in another country and they only have a lifeguard at the bottom of the pool, if that they don't have someone at the top telling you when you can and cannot go because they trust people to do what they're supposed to do. The United States can't be trusted like that.

Hold on, I just remembered that rafts can’t have proper restraints so that riders can get out if the boat capsizes 😅 my bad ( oh and BTW, some Europeans aren’t smarter than Americans… for example, fairly recently , a woman got out of a boat on Its a Small World at DLP as the ride was down. She was standing on the edge of the trough, getting her kids out as a cast member was yelling at her to stop and she couldn’t care less about it.)

Bits of this combined with a traditional rapids would be something else! As it stands, it looks like an extended version of that rubbish water ride at Thorpe Park, obviously much better. I need to ride it for myself. To Belgium!

I prefer themed rapids over something like this personally... just get some theming into Congo around the layout / trough and it would be a cracking ride especially now it gets you wet!

@@seany84ukexcuse me Congo is not lazy anymore and never has been!! Congo is now the best rapids in the UK by a million miles, waterfalls, Soundtrack, waves machines next year coming back! Don't know what much more you could ask, Congo definitely dominates the UK rapids!

Intamin may have another hit here. I could see these in most parks. I think the video would have been a lot better with more riders including reactions. It seemed as if she wasn't required, a camera alone could have shown just as much.

We were with 2 in the boat. I don’t know why they didn’t let others in😭 the maximum weight is 400kg and everyone had to stand on a scale but they were too slow because they weight too much so we had to go alone.

Innovative for sure but.... the "boat" does not spin much. It looks pretty dry and the lack of theming (not intamin fault) killed it completely. So far looks more like capabilities show off waiting for someone to do something nice with it.

Hmm. I'm not sure about this ride... Would I really like it? it looks a bit boring to me, like a boat in a gutter and absolutely not what a rapid-river means to me.
