I like the idea of Bellroy, thin wallets, nicely designed, but I have to say that their quality control is awful. I have the Note sleeve as well. The first one I got has a serious issue, the card slot won't fit any credit card sized cards, this problem is actually quite common for Note Sleeves after I reading some reviews on Amazon. The second one can fit cards, but both sides of the wallet cannot align properly, I see your copy also has this problem, but just not as serious as mine. Really hope Bellroy can improve the quality, but not just put the vast majority of their budget on marketing.

Card slot issue is because most people don't know you have to break the slots (well one slot, in particular) in. If you just leave a card in there for like a week, it really loosens. Maybe that wasn't your specific case but a lot of people just don't know about that.

Thanks for the warning Mate (yours being the 3rd I've read). It's precisely because of these good samaritan warnings I prefer to do most shopping online now. Hopefully Bellroy at least attempts to address these QA inconsistencies. Me and My dollars shall keep 'looking' and might (roughly as much chance as Pigs & Tigers flying) return if we can't find anything BETTER.

@@ieyasutoku I've owned my Bellroy for a couple years, and my credit card fits fine in ANY slot. The leather just takes time to break in. Stick your credit card in the pull tab slot in the meantime.

I use a Slim Fold wallet, the soft shell variety. It's not as professional looking as leather wallets, but my wallet carrying 5 credit cards + License and other necessities has the same thickness as that Bellroy when empty.

The wallet featured is the new version, the old version in which the single card slot had a cutaway, was, in my opinion far better.bellroy are usually very well designed and my original note sleeve is wearing well after 2 years of daily use. The only problem Bellroy have is that their updates are usually for the worse.

Looks like a little bit of a hassle. I picked up a BOSCA Single I.D. Trifold wallet a while back and I love it so far. 9 card slots plus an I.D. window and regular place for cash. Plenty of room for cards, insurance card and an emergency contact card.

Liked your review, but you obviously have a bias against the Bellroy. Look at 6:30. The Bellroy is clearly slimmer. At 8:49 you said the Bellroy felt "cheap". I've seen leathercrafters rip the Bellroy apart stitch by stitch and admit it was high quality. I think your love for the Tumi is clouding your judgement. And yes, I am a Bellroy owner.

The normal one doesn't age well, but the Designer Edition does: bellroy.com/products/note-sleeve-designers-edition/leather/burnt_sienna#image-0 Make sure the design is something you like as well. It took time to get used to for me.

I've had a common fibers carbon fiber rfid wallet( THE MAX) for 2 years now and it still looks brand new. It's slim and has a lifetime warranty get alot of compliments on it. the outer shell can even stop a bullet lol. the only thing id say is to not get black interior version of the wallet. I recommend getting the one with leather interior as it will age better than the nylon version i have. Do not store any metal objects in the same pocket with this wallet as it will dull the shiny appearance. If anyone's interested in one.

sains hand the risk of RFID theft is miniscule. They can only steal your data if they stand a few feet away and they can only use the token once. The banks will also not hold you liable for any theft related to it.

I just switched to a "big skinny" wallet that I've been pretty happy with. It makes getting your cards out a little more difficult since it's designed to put more than one card in all of its slots, but I currently have 18 cards in mine (counting credit cards, IDs, and store rewards cards) and it is skinnier than my old bifold wallet is empty. It's a little longer than a normal wallet but it's worth it to me because I value always having all of those rewards cards with me. leather will always have wrinkles and other flaws that is referred to as charter or aged look so knit picking on the smallest things is petty.

I feel like other brands (i.e., Hermes, Moynat, etc.) age a lot better, even after 6-12 months of use. The point of my channel is to nitpick -- I literally analyze credit card expected value and first/business class flights.

great video. however, i've tried some other bellroy wallets, and to be quite honest, they are not my favorites. i don't like them because they do show wear/tear and usage quickly. i am not sure if i am able to mention any brands but bellroy doesn't get close to them. of course imho.

What brands? I still need to try something with Horween leather (i.e., Shinola) but most have been pretty bulky/thick.

Ask Sebby hello! I've tried the Horween Shell Cordova wallet. Pretty good though it may get a bit bulky after a few cards. Of course the crease I don't like but it's a durable one. I may be practical but I love minimalist wallets. I've tried the A&F ones too and as crazy as it sounds, the Clark's are oftentimes in my pockets. I only carry with my about 10 card total including bank cards and ID.

Not at all impressed with the new wallet, hate the "pull out" system. Like the individual compartments of your old wallet. Won't be a wallet I'll be buying.

There technically is. I don't really carry change though (and my main wallet doesn't have that feature either anyways).

Ask Sebby I never liked getting a lot of change back (rarely use cash) but when I get it back I never like having to carry it around but you do if you are looking for the next opportunity to use it and get rid of it.

Not a big fan of Belroy. Overpriced. Since I wear my wallets in my back pockets, it tends to bend if you sit on it. I'd recommend the Dango Dapper which has a aluminum frame to prevent bending and if you want a slim wallet get Allett. Much cheaper and better quality. Both made in San Francisco and San Diego respectively.

Yeah, it doesn't feel as great as I thought it would. A lot of people kept recommending it to me (since I was looking for a smaller form factor) but, something about the feel of the leather.

All slim wallets will need to use split or smooth leather. This type of leather is made by shaving or buffing off the top layer. That's what make it thin and smooth but also very prone to crinkling and scratching.
