Just pulled the trigger on a black Venture 6l. I had the Lite Sling in Chalk but I gave it to my mom since she always complimented it so it was a nice gift for her, also the white was a bit off for me aesthetically speaking, I mean it was really nice but I use black gear way more so I feel this will be the perfect upgrade to the Lite Sling. The extra pockets and more structure compared to the Lite will make a huge difference in my use case. I mean, I love pouches too but sometimes I just want to have the option for organization right away without fiddling around. Also, I've seen the amount of stuff you can fit and how low profile it remains, I have slings that look way bigger but fit just as much if not even less, like the Trakke Largo, which I love but it's too bulky sometimes. So excited to get my hands on this one, also the black on black logo version made me drool so that's what I'm getting. Great reviews as always.

Thank you for watching and for the support! That’s great to what you’ve had a good experience with the lite sling, the venture sling is definitely another great option and a nice smaller alternative to the largo

My mom bought one kislux and she loves it. It had been there for over 10 years when she went out with it.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

I have this one in the previous fabric. Have it with me on a trip in Japan as well as the evergoods 2l sling. I carried it around the first days in 35 degrees and insane humidity and it was fine. The larger size did result in me carrying too much stuff. Second half of the trip I have been using the evergoods 2l sling. I loved the sunglasses pouch in the bellroy. Super useful. Loved the different pockets inside as well so I could have my small items like a hand sanitizer in the same spot, which shifts around in the evergoods one. I'm taking the bellroy when I want to be able to take a small umbrella with me on top of a small water bottle and the other stuff I have in the evergoods one, which is really full. I love the strap and how it can adjust, also how it cinches the bag down when it's not full. Imo the bellroy is the better choice if you don't think you would always fit in the smaller 2-3l slings and only want 1 sling. Since it gets compressed it's not always a 6l bag when not full.

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the slings! Although I like both I can see how the bellroy might be a little more versatile

@@dannypacks I love the evergoods one and the large main compartment. But then I also do miss the pockets from the bellroy as my chapstick fe goes on an expedition every time. Heimplanet has the same as the bellroy that it has a small stretch pouch on the sides inside. I find that super useful for chapstick like items. It doesn't take away from the large main compartment but gives the option to put something that you don't want floating to the side. The bellroy has a less useful pocket for quick access to my wallet and passport than the back pocket on the evergoods.

Regarding the Bellroy 6L Venture, I’ve read one comment that concerns me. It’s the fact the main compartment zipper doesn’t form a complete closure on each side (by design I’m sure to help the bag compress). This leave a small opening at each end where small items could fall out. What is your opinion? Did you experience this? Thank you much!
@DaemonViews
@DaemonViews 5 месяцев назад
@@TroyWindhorstI went to get mine to check because I couldn't believe it. But it is not like another sling where the zipper completely closes off the bag. If I fiddle around I'm able to jam my finger between the zipper and the fabric. In what scenario a chapstick would be able to leave the sling is unclear to me. Even having it tilted upside down and shaking it would be unlikely to have an unwanted leave of chapstick due to the narrowness and how the fabric folds, meaning it would have to turn and wiggle. It's not a straight opening. There is a lot of fabric folded there and it takes an entire finger to reach free space inside.

Very nice video! I actually got this sling today! Same color too. However I found it too small for my liking. I currently have the Bellroy Venture sling 9L (in the midnight color) and figured I'd get something a little smaller since I always seem to have so much extra room in my 9L. Turns out I've become accustomed to the space as it allows for a lot of packing options. Go figure, right?😅 All in all I may pick up another 9L Venture in the green color because it looks so darn good.

I got this one in the discontinued basalt color (that fabric is stiffer). Its really my favorite sling, the wider straps are much better than the thinner ones of the belroy lite (I have the 7L lite, and seemingly the venture can fit more inside). The venture is better in every way than the lite, except for weight and flexibility. The buckles are the best thing about this sling. I own a lot of slings at this point and Bellroys just have the best strap mounting solution, its not so much about compression but the flexibility and way it holds the bag to the body, there isn't a bad angle for it. The only thing the bellroy doesn't do is carry tech well (no ipad/switch sleeve like other slings this size), but it is good at carrying a small umbrella or 20oz drink inside, which a lot of other slings this size can't do well if they have a lot of sleeves and compartments. I have my ipad mini in a zugu case so don't mind throwing it in here. This is the best of the "one big compartment" slings this size. I liked it so much I got the 10L.

@@ih8pikeys Yes, it fits with plenty of room to spare, but there is no sleeve for it internally, so everything you put it there is all together.

Hi. I'm curious on your opinion as someone who has owned both bags. I'm deciding between the belroy 6L and the Aer day max (6L). Aiming to be able to carry a camera (small mirrorless: think sony a6000 or fuji xt size with a compact zoom lens) around alongside a power bank and other bits like keys/wallet/etc. which of the two would you recommend? i already have the city sling 2 from Aer and I do like it. just a bit small for my current needs. My concern with the Art day sling 3 max is the way it sits. from what i've read apparently it sits better as a messenger style bag rather then along the back like the belroy or city sling 2 would. is this the case in your experience?

Great review, as usual, Danny. Danny, @daemonVice, @jonuluc, do you find that water pools in the front access pocket, as there's a gap above the zipper? Looks like it's a potential. Does it hug the body, as it lacks side wings (or whatever the heck they're called)? I love the look of the Evergoods 2.5L. I wish they had put a little more thought into the strap and buckle (IMHO, it's too large for such a small bag and hits me in the wrong place). I've always wanted to try an Aer Day Sling but I'm not fond of slings with Fidlock buckles, which enjoy opening at the wrong time. I think there's a Venture Ready 2.5L. Might take a look at that. Has anyone tried?
@DaemonViews
@DaemonViews 10 месяцев назад
I have the aer city sling and have no issue with the fidlock on that one. I like the look and how it sits of that one the most. I use it at home to quickly take stuff somewhere. For quick city or store use I will always pick that. It's the one that is lying around ready packed at home. The bellroy starts to go in the direction of a backpack as I can take both a flask and a small umbrella and all I need, which I can't in a 2l pack. There it is choosing between water and umbrella. The aer city sling has so many pockets and stuff that it is difficult to carry more stuff. The evergoods one just has a large dump pocket. So when I drop my sunglasses and water in the evergoods, I can easy access my wallet, passport, small battery bank using the back pocket. While on the aer, they are squeezed behind my sunglasses and water bottle pocket, making it difficult to quickly grab. If it's only my passport, that fits easily in the very safe pocket of the Aer city sling. I have been enjoying the evergoods one traveling. That buckle and strap is absolute crap though. I don't understand why they don't provide strap keepers and it also loosens on its own. Aer and bellroy do that so much better.

I've only been in the rain out with it once or twice, one of my normal carry items with it is an umbrella anyway. I don't think it would be much of an issue, even in a good storm. I don't think much water would get past the zipper, also the zipper is not at the bottom its actually above the bottom of that fold. I doubt water would really get the opportunity to collect there anyway just with how the bag is worn mostly (exposure to rain would be if on the back, and on the back its slanted so would run out the side). I have had other slings with "wings" and those only really help wrap around in fanny pack mode, on your chest, unless properly angled (hard to explain) the wings can cause some... torsion? it causes slings to either cant away or towards the body, and rest on the edge instead of lying flat on the back of the sling against your body. The good part of the venture, is you will notice the two parts that actually connect to the bag are not parallel, the one in the front is higher than the back, this plus the relative flexability keep the belroy against the body more nicely in more positions than any other setup I've seen. The modern dayfarer active sling with the mounts on the upper edges and pivot mount also works very well. Also a less complicated setup of having one mount "up" and one out straight from the side (like an L shape, aer day sling 2 was like that) is other good option for upper chest slingwear. This one has sorta an L shape with it simply going diagonal from the upper edges, its the 3rd best option I think, and better than just having straps that go straight out either end (that causes twisting on the chest). Sorry went into the rabbithole with slings, but here I am lol.

Thank you for watching and for the support! Great questions and it looks like there’s some awesome answers already! Like one of the comments said I think the water would roll off the side while wearing it and I haven’t tried the venture ready sling yet but it looks like the people that have used it really like it! I haven’t had any issues with the aer fidlock as of yet, but I could see how it might feel a little less secure than the buckle system on this one or the evergoods sling

Does the iPad mini 6 fit inside of the zippered pocket? I’ve been trying to find a small-medium sized sling that can fit both my iPad mini and water bottle inside, but want the iPad in a separate section than the bottle.

This would be the perfect sling if only it had a mechanism for storing a water bottle outside the main body of the bag. Even a simple/strong stretchy loop, strapping, or pocket on the base would do it. At the moment, if you want to carry a decent camera on a day out and other day bits in the bag, having a water bottle in there too is really impractical. Even a small 250ml or 350 ml size one takes up too much room and also would hit your nice camera, like my X100V. If you stick in a small water bottle even vertically, it sticks out the top with the zip not fully done up and looking/feeling awkward. I've bought this sling but the lack of a water bottle solution is a real issue for me and I might send it back unfortunately cause it's superbly made. I wonder if I could sew something on the base myself????? Then I'd have room for everything else inside! mMMM so near THE perfect day bag, but not quite...

Have you tried using a carabiner on one the straps? This is what I've been doing when I need free up some space inside. Not perfect but still. As a side note, I own the 10L version and the straps below the base are awesome for carrying a jacket or a tripod (they won't work for a water bottle though).
