Look to nature for erosion control. Plant native willows along your stream and establish a thicket. You can buy a few, let it establish for a year, and every year after you prune and propogate the cut stems. Bonus, dried willow branches are very useful for all sorts of home projects.
I can’t believe how time flies, I used to watch your videos with my dad. Now it’s been over four years since he passed and I took over the farm. God bless you and never give up
The next time you fly consider a pelican air case with firearm stowed in with your camera gear. This legally turns the camera case into a firearms case allowing you to secure it with regular non TSA locks. Per air line and TSA regs the case can only be opened in your presence. Toss in an Air Tag for a bit of tracking insurance. Stencil your contact info on the case. Bring a spare set of locks or replacement shackles to rebuild the locks in the event TSA messes up and cuts them as back up. I've flown for years using my clothing and other things as padding for the firearms in my case just to keep TSA out of my luggage without me around. Worst case scenario and the bag is misplaced you can throw the you have a missing unsecured firearm in your airport card. That usually elicits a more prompt investigation. Shame its got to be that way...
I had a TSA case and then I double TSA locked that case then locked the case to the frame of the luggage with a firearm lock. The case could still be opened and inspected via TSA, but not removed from the luggage. Like you I then buried it. I then added more TSA locks to the exterior of the luggage. Criminals are lazy. If you make it very difficult for them, they’ll probably pass you by for an easier target.
What a fantastic video Cody. The encouragement at the end was much needed, it's so hard not to get caught up in the daily despair. It seems whenever I'm struggling with something I decide to check on your YT channel and you have a message that helps in such a great way. God is at work in all of us. Also, congratulations to Jack! I can't help but feel joy for him, what a fantastic example of a young man. God bless you and your family.
Congratulations Jack. What a fine young man who is ready to make this world a better place. And congratulations to your parents on raising such a great kid.
Congratulations Jack! Very well done! Jack cleans up pretty well! A fine young man! And a reflection of his parents upbringing. And morals. You should be very proud! :)
I'm a biologist who studies invasive species, and I gotta say I'm proud that you planted native trees and took some time to remove that horrible Russian Knapweed!
Thank you and your family for all your time and efforts, Cody. Much as the Prodigal Son returned to a father looking to the ridgeline for his son, so too have the members of The Big Fizz been watching our notifications for your live streams... and you are welcomed with loving open arms and smiling faces.
You are outspoken, but I love your family unity and I will definitely keep you in my prayers. Thanks for all your hard work on your videos.. I enjoy watching.
As a former TSA employee I can tell you it by far was the worst job I ever had. People would sell their mom to move up the ladder. If the other employees weren't stealing or breaking stuff on purpose they were on their 10th break for the day. As an honest person I was quickly deemed enemy #1, so I departed. Welcome home!...Hope your stolen claim (if you filed) pays enough to replace your items some scumbag stole.
Much like most government workers we could do without 80% of government workers. When people realize it’s better to do for yourself and pay less to government and keep more for yourself your family and your neighbor.
I know exactly what you mean. retired transit NYC. people I used to work with 80% were scums bags. Lazy / kiss ass - shine shoes to move up, or think they can Lol.
@@jayinmass yes you can transport a firearm on an aircraft if 1. It’s unloaded and separate from the ammunition 2. In an approved locked case and 3. A member of the flight crew keeps it in the locked cockpit.
We all fall short of his glory beloved. One of my favorite chapters in Mathew is 6 verse 25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27. Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life. And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith?
Good to see you back Sir, you always know what I need to hear, thank you Sir and God bless you and your family. Your message is going far and loud. I appreciate all the work and dedication you put into your channel.
Cody, I appreciate all the work you do to provide us with content. You've been such an inspiration for a young man growing up the last 10 years on RU-vid. Thank you.
After the whole smear capmaighn attempt I haven't really been on the channel in awhile, glad to see your thriving and your will remains unbroken, in better spirits than ever. Property looks great. Also Ive taken up some traditional woodworking so if you need any ideas for content, im absolutely clueless fumbling my way through hand planes, bit braces, and hand drills 😂 been revisiting some of your old content that brought me to the channel in the first place, you really inspired me to take up tinkering, woodworking, and vintage tool collecting in memory of my grandfather. I recently added a couple boxes of his old tools to my new workbench, God bless.
I did LD debate for three years in high school, it's a lot of work researching and writing speeches for both sides of an issue and learning how to attack and defend both. But it's a great skill to have when it comes to dealing with opposing mindsets in the real world. We went to Bob Jones in SC and Mecklenburg county in NC several times for tournaments.
I’m sure you know that we are all proud of Jack. With debating skills like that and the knowledge he has Jack could have a very bright future in politics if he wishes
Welcome back Cody! The fizz has arrived! Received my shirt and the little surprise! Thanks for that! Looking forward to putting the shirt through the paces. 😅
Well done Jack!!!! And that final message resonated, similar to what we been thinking, constantly telling everyone we hear moaning, "we got to go through this, it's going to get worse, but then it will be so much better" Thanks for all your video's from the UK.
From what i have seen here in southern Iowa, those Cedar trees will be a worthwhile investment. I went a couple weeks ago to my local home improvement store to buy cedar for some deck boxes, and they wanted 45 dollars for a 5ft by 1ft quarter inch thick board. Probably would have been cheaper to make them out of solid Walnut.
Can’t believe you were in my town. Hope you had a great time. My daughter went to AC. I live about 5 miles north on a 6 acres homestead. NC seems to suffer from a Blue invasion. This whole area is growing like crazy.
@@wranglerstar Thank you, I hope so too. Been avoiding it for about 12 years now. Disk finally ruptured in October. Gotta love the VA healthcare system. Prayers would be appreciated.
@TLLConline fellow veteran here. I have an inherent mistrust of the VA Healthcare system. It took the VA 11 years to get my initial rating claim set. Now I'm at 80%. The closest VA medical is 90+ minutes away. As a retiree, I use TRICARE prime. I have no intention of using the VA as my primary care.
@@joeh4295 I'm just inside the radius, so some of my care is done through the community care program, but most major stuff is done at the Boise VA that's about an hour away. Thankfully it's been a good experience with the staff there so far. It's the VA system requirements to basically work up the ladder before doing anything substantial that has been the problem. ( If you're @80%, look into the individual unemployability rating edition. Basically takes you to 100% without having to have the scheduler rating)
Thankyou for the kind words regarding the spiritual attacks that God's Chosen are now experiencing. You're a refresher of Spirits! Many Blessings to your family, Shalom my friend!
UC Cody cuz as you sit there and act like you're so cool and awesome that everybody's going to what vote for you and support you because of the way you are well guess what buddy at no point in time and I ever going to let you have the power you dream of
Wow! I'm from Spartanburg, SC which is right next door to Anderson! Glad you made it to the East Coast but even more glad your videos are back! We have missed them!
Can you not store and put riprap rock behind the bank, So as the soil washes away, it slowly falls and makes a rock bank? After all storing rock is not a crime and not getting it removed in time is not a crime. Just find some good clean stuff.
As a long time sub, I love this video. The homestead videos (updates or working on) are def my favorites. The 2nd favorites are the preparedness /prepping mentality videos. This video touched both, so keep rocking on! Sorry but I don't watch any of your live steams. Life is just too busy
As someone that lives in rural NC, we welcome you!!! Granville County here north or Raleigh and close to the Virginia border. Moved here 5 years ago from the midwest and just love it.
On the river bank erosion, could you put Boulders there, up on the bank and "let" the river erode under them. When mother nature lets them fall it will be on her.
Respectfully, if you had personally cut down every tree, flattened two sides, removed the bark, and completed all the other work necessary to bring the logs to their current state, then you could claim to be making a log cabin “from scratch”. But this? No, this is not from scratch. I realize I sound like a gamma, but one of my hunting buddies is an east coast man in his mid 80s who actually is building a log cabin from scratch. The only thing he needed help on from a younger buck was putting the roof beams in place. That is truly impressive stuff.
I am about your age Cody but always had a hard time getting into the bible. Recently I read The Action Bible, which is a graphic/comic form and it really helped me get going. Highly recommend for anyone that needs an easier starting place like I did!
