I love everything about this BUT beluga whales DO HORRIBLY in captivity. Imagine the hundreds of thousands of miles they swim normally, being able to mate, take care of their young, use those huge brains and they have a very very high death rate in aquariums. The mystic aquarium where I grew up used to go through them like crazy in the 90’s and always had rumors they buried them on property. Every few months of years a beluga would die and it’s heartbreaking. I grew up near an aquarium and every few years the beluga would be gone. They would die every three years at the most. Then buried on the property. If you educate yourself on the intellectual capabilities of whales and dolphins you would never want them to be in any aquarium or water park of any kind. Sperm whales have a higher IQ than people from 7 countries. (I won’t list them but you can google them). They did the first whale brain scan and scientists who spent their life studying whales brains found that whales are so far superior in intelligence, they rival humans. They also have spiral cells that make it so difference whales from different areas have different DIALECTS AND ACCENTS. Like humans. So different dialects being different languages but accents just like in North America how Canadians sound to southerners to people from Boston etc. They also do things we don’t even know about deep below where we can’t access the ocean but they DO meditate and Bob in order to counteract the fracking which is EXTREMELY damaging to them as any sound that level, naval rockets, etc is physically painful to them. There are so many great documentaries. Start with Blackfish and then one on RU-vid if you search “sperm whales”. They can break your bones using their sound when you are swimming next to them but CHOOSE not to. They are as intelligent as humans and in the future it will be a disgrace that we didn’t defend these mammals we share the earth with. They have proven IQ’s higher than 47. Which is the national average for a few third world countries. And that’s just what WE KNOW FROM ONE BRAIN SCAN!!!!
