For those who do not understand why the whales were not moved straight to the ocean. You cannot do that. It would be to traumatic. They have to slowly adjust a step at a time. It is just like kidnap survivor's getting their freedom back. It takes time and patience.
@@2goblinsinatrenchcoat damn you're a genius! Poor whales...I wish people would stop fucking kidnapping all of them and especially killing the sharks for their fins!
It will be better to keep them in the Sanctuary, these whales are way too dependent on humans to be sent into the wild, take for example that one Orca that was back to the wild from SeaWorld. That dependency on human content got the poor fella killed.
Incredible! All creatures in this world is equal; they deserve to live free and wild. Thank you team for the wonderful job. It brought joy to see them back to where they belong.
The SEA LIFE TRUST Beluga Whale Sanctuary was created in partnership with Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) with the aim of providing formerly captive beluga whales with a safe and more natural home. These are holding tanks to allow the whales time to acclimate to the water. They've come from Shanghai to Iceland. These people know what they are doing. 💗
👍 I teared up after seeing that photo of her smiling eyes at the beginning. It is nice to have something to look at that is so refreshing and joyous, during these perilous times. ☹️😔😑😐😌😊😁

Can I order that large sleeve that they're using for transport from Amazon? By time quarantine is over I'll be bigger than the whale, 😒🙄😂. Haha, peace n' love earth family. Everyone be blessed🐋💕
Considering the circumstances, there’s not a better solution that’s feasible. In an ideal world they’d never have been captured, but they’ve grown up with significant human influence. There’s been quite a few research studies on releasing captive whales back into the wild, and most of them have completely failed. These belugas are lucky to have each other, and it’s more than likely that they will do far much better than whales that have been released alone. Whales like belugas are supposed to be raised amongst their own, and when they aren’t they lack crucial skills to survival as well as social skills. This is more than likely what’s best for them. They can never be truly released into the wild, just look what happened to the star of “Free Willy”. These individuals were raised by humans and can never be truly free. This is the best known solution for them, and arguing that they are just in a “bigger cage” is completely ignorant. I hope they are able to live far more fulfilling lives, and I’m sure you hope the same. These animals are not “wild” but “tamed”, and they can never truly be wild.
They didn't show the whales actually IN the ocean of their freedom? That would have been the real END of the story. Why wasn't 'that' part of this video??? : /
this is just a area to give them time to adjust and monitor them closely for few days. The bay is very large, here is a video that shows the bay more. twitter.com/BelugaSanctuary/status/1291761785100435457 belugasanctuary.sealifetrust.org/en/about-the-sanctuary/the-sanctuary/
I agree. I was thinking that that couldn't be the new enclosure right, i can't imagine that being more comfortable. Oh man, animal videos break me sometimes:(
The SEA LIFE TRUST Beluga Whale Sanctuary was created in partnership with Whale and Dolphin Conservation (WDC) with the aim of providing formerly captive beluga whales with a safe and more natural home. The holding tanks were only temporary allowing the whales to acclimate to the water. They travelled a long way to arrive in Iceland. These people know what they are doing. 💗
@@GretchenAmyReilly it's an amazing organization. You can't take whales out of the ocean, put them in an aquarium, and just let them free back in the ocean. They were slowly acclimated to the cold water of Iceland. They have saved 3000 whales. I'm vegan for the animals. 💚
@@elaine-kittyfostermom oh wow it sounds great Elaine, ty for telling me! Animals deserve all the best that we can stil provide on our broken earth. They are way better than us humans anyway.
Beautiful video. Beluga whales are pretty smart peaceful whales. Thanks to the troupe who finally brought Beluga white & Beluga gray back to them after long, lonely, dreary 20 damn long years in captivity, their beautiful big home the ocean, the sea 😍🤗🙆👍👍👍❤❤❤💘💘👏👏 I really hope for the two belugas that they will get many friends as well as make friends with many other belugas. I wish them both a contented, happy & long life and I hope they explore the wide, big, deep sea where they got their home back. Make the sea unsafe together you two pretty whales 🤗😍😗💋💋💋❤❤❤❤❤💘💘💘💘
Beluga death rates are higher in captivity than they are in the wild. While belugas live up to 60 years in the wild, in captivity they very often die before the age of 30 and sometimes much earlier.
Beluga whales 😍 I find them always in my crunchy cheetos! Lol. My daughter be like oooouuu Mommy, lol. Obviously when she was little in elementary school etc. 😍
awwwww i'm gonna swim to beluga soon but my weather is when he arrives because my grandfather signed up for Texas and I can't wait because I've been begging and I couldn't🥺
They are domesticated 😔. Can’t fend for themselves in the ocean 🌊. But they seem to know that they will be taken care of. Instead of being mistreated by the Russians for political gains.
@@jacquelinepayne4737 domesticated is not the correct term. They are captive wild animals. Domesticated means that over generations they have been breed to work along side humans as pets or livestock. Whales do not fit that definition, they were taken from the wild and forced to live in captivity and only feed while training and performing. They always retain their wild behavior and memories. Beluga whales rarely give birth in captivity and if they do the baby rarely lives more than a few days. In fact the record for one baby Beluga was 9 years, considering they live to 50-60 years in the wild... well.😞 Beluga whales typically do not live passed 30 in captivity anyways. They certainly are NOT domesticated.
If you were kidnapped from your family, finally rescued after a decade of being held prisoner.......would you "feel sad" about being taken from your captor?
Is this where they will be now...like forever or am I missing something? Looks like another tank maybe bigger than where they came from but still a tank. I was hoping to see like a mile or more of a designated monitored area for them and in do time for a full release. Is there another part to this story?
