Belvoir Castle was the place we decided to visit this time round, in particular the Cinderella experience that was on display. We knew our daughter would love it, as she enjoys all things to do with fairy tales, Cinderella in particular.
Belvoir Castle is situated within Grantham, up on the top of a very big hill overlooking miles of farmland and pretty countryside villages. It took us just over half an hour to drive from Nottingham, and was easy enough to find.
We parked up in the car park right at the bottom of the hill, showed our online tickets and took the five minute walk up towards the castle. The views from the top are something else, you can see so far. We then entered the castle to a festive choir singing Christmas songs and a open log fire in the entrance hall.
The decor was perfect, and you can clearly tell they know quality when they see it. Everything was perfect and felt so warm and cosy. We followed the Cinderella trail throughout the castle, then down a spiral staircase to the small chapel on the ground floor. After following a few corridors you're led out to the area where the gift shop is located and tea shop. After buying a few postcards we exited the castle back out into the perfectly manicured gardens, walking round the outside of the castle.
We then took the path back to the newly build children's wooden playground, where our three children enjoyed a good half an hour running around to their hearts content. Finally we walked across to the Engine Yard, which is a small collection of boutique shops.
Overall here at Manns Day Out we left feeling very festive, having enjoyed a pleasant afternoon at this truly outstanding castle.
