Normally I’d suggest hiring a seperate editor or even find a volunteer editor for not just your breakdowns, but your videos in general, cause it’s clearly a large workload for your team. But I understand that you don’t want these videos to dominate your life and you seem have a very specific editing style (correct me if I’m wrong). Do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable Rob, and keep up the good Ink Tank😁
You also have to remember they already have a bunch of staff as members of the ink tank so saying "hire another editor" is just a bit of a big ask. Not to mention editing yourself is part of the videos themselves. Different people have different styles of editing so you can't just "hire someone" it's all a bunch of nuances that aren't so easily remedied.
I think another editor would be nice, sure the identity within the doting would be different but it could be interesting, we're also at a point I think another editor might help increase production value too allowing more time for all series and allowing for easier growth at this point youtubers thrive based on things like that
I had a feeling it would come to this. Doing the math based on the previous rate of your breakdown videos, it would've taken up at least another 2 or 3 years till you finally finished. As a creative, commitment to something like that can be difficult (plus I think a lot of viewers forget you actually have a separate Ink Tank job lol).
That's fine. The situation is that the Ink Tank are an actual small company that make art designs and commisions and that sort of thing for media, publishing, advertising, etc. The RU-vid channel is just a side thing.
kuro, as much as we all love these breakdowns, please dont force yourself to do these, take care of yourself man, we love you, this new format that youre gonna do seems interesting, looking forward to see what episodes you decide to make full length videos on
Thanks for being open with us Kuro! As a student in college, I know full well how hard it is to juggle multiple things at a time and how big of a strain it is on the person, as well as how hard it is to have to sacrifice something in order to lessen the weight on your shoulders. Out of all of the content you've created, this series has had the biggest impact on me, cause it helped revitalize my love for this franchise, and even got me to rewatch it again after several years! Thank you for making a compromise for us, even though you didn't have to. I agree that the less important episodes don't need a full 10+ minute analysis, so this is the best case scenario. If you ever get into a similar situation like this, know that it is completely fine to drop something when it's inconveniencing you or giving you a burnout. Keep it fizzy dude!
Please tell me the title isn't true. Whatever you decide to do I'll continue to watch your content. I found it this channel because of the Ben 10 breakdowns but I stayed for ALL of the content. The custom artwork, the stories you tell, and your opinions on animated media in general are all unique and enticing on their own.
Partial compromise? Do you think you could fit in those unselected episodes that are cut to only a 60 sec short INTO the full breakdown episodes? You don't have to add anything to it, you could literally just drop those shorts into the full breakdowns as is. Not too sure how well it would fit, but it'd be slightly easier for completionist sake incomparison to some scattered shorts some people could miss.
@@apirlfools it's rob's choice if he likes to post raws or edited reactions, and in this case, he prefers edited, so it DOES save. Besides, the alternative is copyright infringing.
A bit sad not every episode will be covered in full but it's understandable and atleast we're still getting full breakdowns for other episodes. Been watching the channel for so long I'm fine with whatever ya decide to do
It's probably for the best and it's also the compromise a lot us has been considering as well especially when Omniverse has 8 WHOLE SEASONS JESUS CHRIST
The Breakdown videos have been a highlight of my week for some time now, so it's a shame that they'll be cut down from now on. But on the other hand, there are many many episodes frim here on, particularly in UA Season 2/3 and Omniverse that are slender enough in concept and execution that covering them in a much shorter format hopefully won't take away too much of the experience. I'm glad that important tentpole episodes, or episodes that are simply interesting to discuss, will still get the focus they deserve as well, that seems like a good compromise to reduce the workload without dropping the breakdowns entirely. Anyways, a big thanks to you Kuro for putting in the time and effort in the breakdowns so far, they're one of the most impressive series of analytical videos on any piece of media I've seen, so you've already gone above and beyond.
Im really sad but I feel you somehow..so here's an idea..for those episode u won't breakdown..we can vote if we want to see them or not..but I really really want to see episodes like "if all else fails" and the "catch a falling star" maybe the egg man cometh and others on a breakdown..so thats why I'm kinda sad...now I'm going to watch the new breakdown on the other channel..Good luck for the future inktank 👍
Dang bro I'm going to miss your breakdowns I'd watch them while I was doing meaningless tasks at work and it would put a smile on my face. I love your content man and Ben 10 but do what's best for you.
Season 3 of Alien Force was called *the end of Ben 10 as we knew it;* and now, we have *the end of Ben 10 Breakdowns as we know it* !! Truly Season 3 of Alien Force was the beginning of the end for Ben 10.
The change of format is a bit of a shame because I love the breakdowns but I'm always in favour of losing out on some content if it makes the creator's mental and physical health better! I look forward to the other stuff you'll be making and hope that you keep it fizzy
I was so excited for Utimate Alien breakdowns, especially season 1. I stopped watching youtube content because it was taking too much time from my life and for the past few weeks I've basically only watched your AF breakdowns (I initially stopped watching them when the OG breakdowns came to an end because it was when I stopped watching YT because of it taking too much time of my life). It really sucks for me that you got kinda tired of it but it happened, if you gotta change the content in order to be happier then at least we got the breakdowns for 6 entire seasons of Ben 10 (OG and AF 1 and 2). Thanks for all the hard work, you're amazing for basically carrying the fandom, like there's no doubt that out of everyone, you're the one that contributes the most. Even got an interview with Tara Strong and Greg Cipes, just amazing. Forever grateful.
It will be an achievement to at last finish all the series, am glad that kuro can share opinion about a project that he's wants do more of and other content
Just got to this video through the main channel We love you dude! Your well being >>>>> Anything else. (between you and me you already covered all of the best seasons anyway)
You know what, dude? I think that you guys should do what you believe it's the right thing. You're clearly professional people and we believe in your creative process because you've proven time and time again that it always pays off.
I like the new idea for the breakdowns since episodes like the trio of episodes from the previous breakdown arent interesting enough. I just skimmed that video personally. As long as the big events and popular episodes are covered, im sure it will be great.
While I adore the Breakdowns and all your thoughts on them, if you are stressing about it too much then I want you to do other things. Im here for more than the Ben 10 stuff, though it did bring me in. you watch things like I do, pausing to looking at background characters, animation scuffs, weird designs. I like your attitude and the other Ink Tank members as well, so I'm here for the long haul.
The fact that the we love these breakdown so much really goes to show how much of a impact the classic continuity of Ben 10 had on us. How much we're invested we are. How much love we have for the essence of Ben 10. Stuff such as the deep lore, the character development, etc. The vast expansion in the omniverse/multi verse, etc. Stating our disappointment really is a tribute and it's a positive thing, however we should still respect Kuro and at least try to understand. That doesn't mean you can't still share your feelings, as long as it's written in a respectful manner. It also goes to show how the network still hasn't learnt its lesson... That they keep making the same mistakes over and over again, despite it being literally *YEARS.* It's not that the network and others can't get cartoons to their former glory, they're choosing not to, ultimately down to them wanting to make money which is a huge disservice and extremely disrespectful to not only us the fandom, not only Ben 10, but even to the network itself... A lot of us feel sorry for the younger generation these days as they don't know what they're missing. Cartoons even used to give lessons to kids. If more of us make a effort to show the younger generation these cartoons back in our day, the golden years, only then would they know. But sadly we've had to gotten used to what they're doing in the present... It really isn't helplessness, they can make a difference, if they wanted to and made that decision. May God assist us and bestow his grace on us all.
With the bad Ben 10 episodes some could be another collab breakdown like the one with Kellen to make a bad episode into a funnier breakdown and there could be a different guest. The Ken 10 breakdown is my favorite because of the back and forth talking, knowledge one person may have that the other doesn't, and the jokes. Ultimately it's your choice and I can't wait for future breakdowns and the shorts!
listen man i love the content, the ink tank made me fall back in love w/ ben ten and 5yl made me realize that i was missing out on danny phantom. that being said i completely understand you having too many projects to juggle and how they all snowball into much larger projects. as sad as i am to miss the iconic Kuro analysis for every single episode, i completely respect the decision to change things up like that if it means that you are still able to manage all the projects. keep up the amazing work and i can't wait to finish the latest breakdown
Do you Rob. We'll support you and your Ink Tank team in any and every way. We will always have Ben 10 to connect us all. Can't wait to see what you have planned for us. Cheers!
Very sad to see the full breakdowns end, was excited to experience the Ben10 content after AF through them as I stopped watching the show when Alien Force concluded.
Totally respect the decision man, just kinda wish that the change was mid Ultimate Alien, because I feel like almost all of the first season is worth covering and some of the filler is pretty wild.
The drive to want to finish the projects you start and not wanting yet another loose end that you never get around to tying up..yeah I relate to that. It's a struggle for sure. Take care man, and do what feels right for you and the Ink Tank
Yeah, been there. I write short stories in whatever paper I find and sometimes I write for my folks something special as a present showing my love for them, but when they keep asking me when you'll finish it gets harder and more difficult rather than being FUN
To sum up: Kuro's not gonna do full length breakdowns for every single episode anymore, just select ones, and the one he's not giving full length breakdowns for, he's doing short videos on on the Rustbucket channel. While I am disappointed, at least we still get breakdowns and your mental and physical health gets to improve.
I hope more people sees this comment and agreed These breakdown are taking too much time for him. On one day he react to episode then next he do his intro and final day and He edits those and upload on this channel. But hey atleast we got Classics and AF first 2 season Breakdown as these were the peak of Ben 10 before season 3 started to to random story.
Well, I'm glad ur not just dropping the breakdowns. I do understand tho, u do have other work that needs attention, and I'm more than satisfied w/ the effort uve been giving the breakdowns so far. The breakdowns have been loved cuz they feel like binge watching a show w/ a friend who loves and understands the show as much as I did. I appreciate ur passion Kuro and look forward to see how the new method works out. Keep it fizzy, man.
Personally, I'm glad you chose this direction as It cuts right to the episodes you'll actually have passionate thoughts towards. Also there's a lot of series to go through...
I'll just be up front and say that while I do really enjoy the episode-by-episode style the breakdowns have been going with so far, you're the one who's been putting in the _incredible_ amount of work that's needed to actually put them together. So if you feel like you have to change how the breakdowns work in order to get a better balance going between them, your other projects, and your personal life, then go right ahead! Even if _every_ episode isn't going to get a full breakdown going forwards, I'm sure that like you mentioned there's going to end up being quite a few episodes going forwards where a full play-by-play breakdown isn't really all that necessary, and would just end up adding more work in the end than they're actually worth and stretching on the length of the breakdown series out by a _ton_ overall. So having a smaller list of hand picked episodes you feel would actually be worth the time that would go into them is totally fine by me, *ESPECIALLY* if it helps to lighten the workload that goes into making these kinds of videos with how lengthy and editing heavy they've proven to be over time.
If you are going to make more non Ben 10 content you could make breakdowns of few select episodes form other animated things. This doesn't need to be a consistent series. You would make those whenever you want. I would recommend "Zuko Alone" and "The Storm" from Avatar The Last Airbender or "Heart of Ice" and "Feat of Clay Part 2" from Batman The Animated Series. Everyone has different picks from those kind of series, i just wrote my picks. You could do different episodes too.
I do respect your decision and hope others will too. I only recently started watching your breakdowns and other videos and plan to read 5YL. Your passion with this franchise resurrected mine and I can't be more grateful. Just wanted to thank you with that comment and also wish you best of luck!
It’s a shame. I was really looking forward to hearing your opinion on episodes like Hero Time, Basic Training, and especially Above and Beyond. But i understand if you feel burnt out.
honestly kuro can post anything he feels like. ill watch it all and love it. i initially came for ben 10 content but i stayed for kuros personality and respect for his work. i am excited to see what he has planned for 5YL and his other future projects
Hey, that's cool. I don't think I even wanna see a breakdown on literally every single episode, since I intend to rewatch the whole series myself eventually.
This sounds like a really smart call, and a great way to balance finishing the breakdowns while also moving on to bigger and better things. Hope this works well for you!
I completely get where you're coming from. I'm interested and excited to see where the channel and The Ink Tank as a while go from here. Keepin' it fizzy
That’s unfortunate as the Ben 10 Breakdowns were unique and separated them other generic reaction videos as Kuro would analyse and say info about the episode which made them entertaining. Do whatever is best for your health as these Breakdowns would most likely take another 2 years.
I do understand you wanna other things and that’s fair enough as you’ve spent so many years doing work on Ben 10 and I can’t wait to see what those other projects are. Always keep up the amazing work Kuro and everyone at the Inktank Team.
I love the long videos they are great background for when I'm drawing or writing. but obviously if they are taxing then you should do what you can to make them fun and care for yourself. I support you in whatever you (and the whole team) decide to do. do what you gotta do. much love friend!
I really like the breakdowns. I've already watched the whole show (without the reboot) and don't feel like watching it all over again but I enjoy watching the breakdowns. It is like watching it without actually watching it.
If only you could clone yourself; turn into Ditto or Echo Echo, etc. Although, we wouldn't want you running into the split personality issue that Ben faced in Duped which was overall the 100th episode and the second episode of Ultimate Alien.
Still hoping one day I can meet all of the inktank crew as you all do such an amazing job at keeping Ben 10 alive and thriving and I can’t wait to see where 5YL goes.
It would be nice to know which episodes would quantify to be worthy of a full review in your opinion. Maybe even show us the list. That could potentially not get our hopes up for some of them. It would be nice to know the criteria in your head. Tried to keep this short and I respect and understand why you're doing this. May God assist and bestow his grace on us all.
You know that even if you drop breakdowns for now or in the future you can always pick it back up and finish it in the future wether it’s because you have more time or you just regained interest in it. I have loved your breakdowns and will continue to watch them in the future but there was a sort of charm when you watched an episode that you didn’t like before but found a new respect for it because of this format. Im sorry to see that aspect go but I do also understand why you are doing this and I am eager to see the other breakdowns in the future. Best of luck to you
It's understandable with everything that's going on that'd you be feeling this way. I'm glad you could do a breakdown for every episode of the first two seasons of Alien Force which you commend and rate very highly as we all know. Now that we've gone past that stage, there will be certain episodes that people only probably want to see you make jokes about which you could potentially do in the 60 seconds format... It did come to my mind that people could potentially have requests for you to do a full break down, but that could get overwhelming. If that sounds doable then maybe the episode that gets the most requests gets selected and of course the ones you wish to do anyway. Regardless, I'm certain a good portion of us understand. The ones who don't may at another point of their lives. We won't have to wait as long for you to get to a certain episode too. I'm glad you conveyed that you understood how it felt to us and it also felt to you that way. The thumbnail helps us understand how you feel and some of us got worried a little while back too. I'm certain you'll still keep the Ben 10 fanbase active which is something you wanted to do as it means a lot to a lot of us. It's great we can come together to a place where we share a common passion.
The Color of Monkey is the episode I always go to. Not because it's particularly good or noteworthy but because it has color in the name and reminds me of when ben 10 omniverse aired every day
Let them go, man. If that's what needs to be done, we understand. We don't need the breakdowns and you don't need to apologize. You've already brought two dead franchises back into relevance. You have 5 Years Later AND the And Beyonds. And, all things considered, you've done excellent managing everything and we can't thank you enough for the countless hours of entertainment. We are not entitled to anything. You do this pouring your heart and soul into every project and we see your hard work and dedication. You inspire us all to be better on our journeys, to work a little harder to make our visions realities. If it wasn't for you, I would never have had the courage to return to my passion for storytelling. Because I was told it was one in a million and that my concepts would never make it. You taught me otherwise just by being you. So keep doing you. We'll be there to watch, read, and listen. Can't wait see how your career continues to grow.
Like you could do like how Linkara does History of Power Rangers or Marcosatsu History of Kamen Rider: Just do a season in the spam of 6 months to a year, talk about the main points, mention the small points, fun facts and remove the grading of each episode to mainly the season on its self (or just do that part like all Breakdowns have done). That would be less difficult and move on to finishing Omniverse... and the reboot. So yea. I get it, it's how I feel about about doing my fanfics but I still enjoy it. But don't worry, we get it and making the breakdowns shorter and quicker would be better. Best of luck!
I so relate to that feeling of having the idea and passion to start a project, only for it to turn out to take forever until I either ditch it or I start a new one alongside the old one and have both drag out forever. God, I have a WIP artwork from 2 years ago that I'm still yet to finish that I refuse to let go, I got a CN x Miraculous fanfic that I'm in the final stretch and refuse to give up on + so many other ideas that I get and then write down under a list of "will get to those eventually". It's definitely frustrating to make so many things and then end up either not doing any of them or taking forever with just one. It's a shame the Breakdowns will have to take the hit, but I totally see where you're coming from and if I were in your place, I would've totally done the same, if not, just outright put them on hold. Okay, to be more fair, I'd probably been too stubborn to do this change immediately and postponed it to after AF S3, but that's mostly because I generally like the episodes that are left from the season, bar from two. Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. My point is, if you believe that the new format will greatly decrease your workload and that it will be beneficial, then you should totally go for it. Fuck it, even if somewhere down the line you straight up want to stop doing the Breakdowns altogether, it will be fine. Like you said, some people will be disappointed, but just on a quick glance in the comments, it seems that people are very understanding and want the best for you and your health, myself included. Do what you feel is best and take care, Kuro. We'll still be here tuning in regardless. :)
What you described I think sounds like a really good idea. I support you on this. I agree that the breakdowns are taking too long. I haven't watch some of them all the way through.
Do what makes you happy and healthy Kuro, whatever decision you make for the future of the channel will be supported by the people who value your time and opinion
I hope you will reconsider your decision in the future, especially on Ultimate Alien, which has a lot of jems, but I understand Omniverse's 80 episodes are too much for the current type of breakdowns. Regardless, my most important hope is that you continue to do what you like as best as you can, because you have a vocation for this kind your video, but motivation is their most important component, so don't do videos you don't feel motivated enough. Lookimg forward to the future breakdowns and if you want a suggestion for future cartoons to cover, I recommend Generator Rex, Secret Saturdays and Teen Titans, the only cartoons on CN close in quality to Ben 10 IMO(and the first 2 tragically underrated). Keep up the great work!
I say you do what you need to do and that is also best for your own life, health, drive, and mental state cause honestly you come before the channel as does the rest of the ink tank crew we can wait and you deserve to all be happy
I actually really like the idea. We get to watch the best episodes and you enjoy them, and the worst, we’ll they’ll just be there for the avid fans and won’t take up much.
As you were saying "...the breakdowns keep getting bigger and bigger..." my eyes wandered to the top suggested video which just so happens to be the latest breakdown. And it is about AN HOUR LONG. . . . Yeah the breakdowns can go. I like them, and I like them long, but man that's sooo much work. In the back of my head I'm like "Well you could probably space them out to like once a month." But then it would take YEARS to get through the series. What you're planning is the best way forward. My one suggestion us that when you post the sorts, simultaneously post the short as an unlisted youtube video for the breakdown playlist. That way the playlist can still be complete and in chronological order.
I wouldn't mind just one episode per breakdown a week, other than two parters. I enjoy the breakdowns and would've liked to see every episode. I've been keeping track of every time Ben turns into each of his aliens. Fourarms is in the lead for Classic, and Jetray is at this moment in the lead for Alien Force.I'm also keeping track of morality points for the main characters. Gwen's in the lead for that, but Ben is somehow not far behind. I hope you show each time Ben transforms in each of the episodes you put in the short breakdowns and say who was the most in the right in the episodes, or atleast say it in the comments.
The breakdowns are a cool idea Kuro & hoping the 5yl & And Beyond stuff will make a return when you're ready. That'll be there to watch & read as i enjoyed reading 5YL so much cause i haven't ready that many comics in my life, but 5YL brought me to read it as i enjoy crossovers a lot & Ben 10. And Beyond has brought an amazing feeling to see planets that weren't shown in media. Thank you Kuro & The Ink Tank crew keep it fizzy & awesome on the future projects.
As much as I wish every episode would get a full breakdown, you need to do what is best for you and when you feel better, me and the rest of the fans are happy
