Ghost freak is no longer in the Omnitrix considering he separated himself from the Omnitrix so his DNA is no longer registered. So Ben won't be able to transform into him anymore

Fun fact: Dr. Animo and the mutant ray was supposed to take place before ghostfreaked out. The writer stated that they intended to let Ben turned into Ghostfreak + Xlr8 combo.

The season 2 finale is a great character moment for Gwen when she finally overcomes her jealousy of Ben. Gwen has always wanted to help people as much as Ben. That's why she's an overachiever. Because she initially wanted to climb the ladder and use connections to help people. But when Ben got the Omnitrix, she felt she missed a chance to become something she always wanted. But in the season 2 finale, she witnesses Ben sacrificing the one thing that made him special for her safety. In that moment, Gwen finally realized what kind of person Ben is and what truly makes a hero.

What you hated most about the Omnitrix's power, the limits, are what keep the show focussed on the aliens AND Ben himself, you're about to see how that can be a good thing in the next season anyway.

I loved the finale episode. It showed us that Ben is indeed a true hero. Not because of the Omnitrix but because of his good nature and good heart. Gwen after seeing that Ben was going to sacrifice the Omnitrix over her life, she realized what kind of a person Ben really was. And this is where her jealousy for Ben stops. She finally saw how much Ben sees her as family.

Ghostfreak’s actual name is Zy’skayr an ectonurite, Zy’skayr as he mentions is that his species consciousness exists in the smallest of his cells so as long as a single cell exists he can never truly be killed. Zy’skayr’s true form is what he originally looks like aside from the head which is upside down. The reason Zy’skayr is harmed by sunlight and ghostfreak isn’t is because ghostfreak thanks to the omnitrix has a second layer of skin which Zy’skayr tore though.

09:49 my first interaction with this episode was in this scene. I just opened the TV and I saw this moment and the rest of the episode. Because I did not know what is happening and after that I saw the Circus Freaks I though that this is actually Zombozo resurected in a new form more powerfull and with new powers. And by the way the real name of the Ghostfreak is Zs'Skayr and he is the king of his planet Anur Phaetos. And after this episode the DNA of Ghostfreak is gone forever and Ben can no longer transform in his ghost alien untill he scanes the DNA of an Ectonurite.
