+Steve Rogers Honestly in the past couple of years critic reviews have been dropping tremendously in quality (to the point where it feels like the critics are trolls - the ones on Metacritic being the worst offenders) and I couldn't really take them seriously anymore. The critic reviews themselves are bland, strongly opinionated, constantly missing the point and just feeling like they were paying much less attention to the movie than a 8 year old kid in the theater was. it's better to just go with the audience review/rating/see for yourself and forget the critic at this point. The critic is dead.. Buried.

+Steve Rogers Honestly, I tend to pay more attention to *audience ratings*... And if you check that out at Rotten Tomatoes... *This film has a 74% approval rating* which is actually appropriate to me because it was roughly a 7-8 out of 10 in my humble opinion. Not fantastic, not the greatest thing to ever slice bread but not a flop and not a piece of shit either. An enjoyable and good/okay film. I even looked through just 5 pages worth of *audience reviews* at Rotten Tomatoes and counted *16 negative reviews* (people who rated it between 1/5 and 2.5/5) compared *68 positive reviews* (people who rated it between a 3/5 and 5/5): www.rottentomatoes.com/m/batman_v_superman_dawn_of_justice/reviews/?type=user In my humble opinion, Rotten Tomatoes should place more emphasis on these scores. What makes or breaks a film should be the will of *4,871 average everyday people* not the opinions of *146 critics* who are really just average everyday people who get to act like they're "professionals" for expressing their opinions.

+Loukas X. For me, I loved Ben Affleck as 'Bruce Wayne,' but watching Batman just pull out guns and waste people....kinda took me away from his character as Batman. He was an excellent actor and his lines were AWESOME but it just felt kinda.....idk, weird to see Batman just use guns to kill people and go joyriding through the city murdering villains XD In DC, the point of Batman is that he lives in darkness but he has one line that he never crosses that just barely keeps him from being a villain. In this movie....he had no line he wouldn't cross and it kinda took me out of an action scene every time I saw Batman murder someone. Branding? Totally fine and kinda cool! But using guns and happily murdering villains? Idk...just too weird >< There's artistic license and then there's kinda just completely missing the point of what a character represents (Batman=a dark hero who does whatever illegal thing it takes to save the day except one....and ONLY one thing.)

The whole concept of the batman in this film was exactly what you guys found wrong. At this stage in Bruce's/Batman's life, he was so over the fact that everyone he loved was hurt; and just didn't care anymore. He was so hurt morally, which made him throw out his whole moral compass but still somehow not go full villain and stay a vigilante.

I Fuked Er Bich Oh I would definitely dig that! The problem is....that's just a theory :/ That is never stated in the film, it's just danced around. Batman blatantly wastes people, and the fans either gotta come up with a reason and justify it in their minds to themselves.....or just say 'wtf.' For me, I kinda understood why he did it because its similar to Flash Point Paradox where Bruce Wayne's dad became Batman instead (Bruce and his mom were the one's that died in that universe) but a WAAAAY darker Batman. The difference there though is.....the reason he killed there is well explained. Here, you just draw your own conclusions from easter eggs background objects....

because they're in this for the long run. the reputation of the franchise is what matters. ben and henry are locked into a contract to play batman and superman for 10 years. one movie's revenue will only get you so far when you need people to support 10 years worth of directing, writing, acting, etc...

lol pretty sure that's the last thing they're doing right now since they're laughing all the way to the bank :P BvS broke a crap ton of records during opening weekend, which is super amazing for a movie that was ""panned"" (unnecessarily imo). This time around there's a giant divide between critics and audiences. BvS was hella good -- so good that I want to watch it again. Gorgeous visuals, the music (omg) and acting from Ben, Gal and Henry

The movie was honestly good. It was a little mumbled up, but it was very enjoyable. Affleck killed it as Batman, we just needed more of a story for Superman. It was overshadowed by everything else that was going on.

+Luke Bryant well this is not a man of steel sequel and it was never ever branded as such...he had is shot in the limelight with man of steel..if this movie was more about him it would be man of steel 2. I have not seen it yet but if you say he did not get that much time then that makes me happier that they focused more on batman and the other characters who need that screen and character development time appearing for the first time in this new universe. I hate when movies introduce so many characters but dont utilize them. If they gave time to superman like it was his own movie then the rest of the characters would suffer for it.

guitarman0365 It wasn't too much at first, but even recently Zack himself has started to class it as a sort of loose sequel to MoS, even the cast sometimes refer to it as the sequel. But when you watch the film, you'll see the whole film literally revolves around Superman and the events of MoS and how all these characters react and respond to it. It's much more of a Superman story than anything else. The only Batman characters you get in it are Batman and Alfred. The rest aside from WW, are all Superman characters.

the director was fine, we need the writers and creative direction crew fired ASAP. the story was so messy, and the motivation behind each character are extremely weak and the dialogue was almost entirely too vague each scene to the point where it wasn't clear what was happening until it already happened. it seemed suprisingly amateur.

drz That's subjective, just because YOU think it's a good movie doesn't MAKE it a good movie. When a movie is made public, it's subject to criticism. A movie is supposed to leave you thinking, but when that movie breaks the immersion with plot holes and whatnot, then it fails. When a critic boils down the movie, they find things that make it a not-so-great, or a bad movie, I.e plot holes, distracting shots, poor character development, and much more. That is why it can be regarded as a failure of a movie, or a not-so-great great movie, because they have facts and evidence to back up their statements and arent going off by their emotions, such as you. To put it in laymen's terms: They went to fucking college to study film design, they have a fucking degree in this shit. Their statements hold more validity regarding movies than yours ever will. Personally I think Ben Affleck was the best batman we've seen so far. He fits the physical look, the Bruce Wayne older, experienced look, & he even has the dark & grimy Bruce Wayne personality from Arkham that I like. And in a weird way I loved the way they portrayed Lex Luthor. He seemed like a power hungry psycho down to the core & had a clever vocabulary & deep perspectives on the world. Plus, Wonder Woman was sexy. I give this film a solid 9/10. I think critics are being too hard.

Affleck was superb. Cavill was slightly underutilized. Eisenberg was just so annoying. And really, the cut and direction of this film is the issue/problem here. Too bad...Snyder makes cool looking movies, but why he isn't just considered another Michael Bay is beyond me. This property, in the hands of a storyteller, would have succeeded.

+Dominic Macino It's because he hasn't told many bad stories due to the fact he doesn't really tell his own story but reinterpret stories faithfully step by step to the big screen. Sucker Punch is his worst orignal story but Man of Steel, while based on a comic book character, is his best original story. He's not a bad storyteller, he's a storyteller who is still new to story-building. Like literally 3.5/4th of his films are someone else's story. In someways you could say movies like Sucker Punch, Man of Steel, and BvS are his directorial debut in the film industry.

I can imagine how they thought it was going to be as good as deadpool. How the FUCKKKK did they think that when they don't keep faithful to the comics?!!! Deadpool did and everyone loved it! It is a movie that the Audience will love, yet critics will not. It has an awesome "general experience" concept going for it and I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. But yes if you broke it down like a high school english class then yes the director made some poor editing choices.

+Liam Fields They do seem to praise the connected Marvel universe product even if alot of fans openly hate some of them. I rarely know anyone who liked Iron Man 2 yet 72% of Critics liked it & I guess 72% of casual audiences liked it. Thor The Dark World has the lowest score of the MCU library which I think looks reasonable. It does feel as if Film Criticism has become an oversaturated Market more so than not. Just because I like Civil War doesn't mean I agree it should be 70% higher than BvS.

That's subjective, just because YOU think it's a good movie doesn't MAKE it a good movie. When a movie is made public, it's subject to criticism. A movie is supposed to leave you thinking, but when that movie breaks the immersion with plot holes and whatnot, then it fails. When a critic boils down the movie, they find things that make it a not-so-great, or a bad movie, I.e plot holes, distracting shots, poor character development, and much more. That is why it can be regarded as a failure of a movie, or a not-so-great great movie, because they have facts and evidence to back up their statements and arent going off by their emotions, such as you. To put it in laymen's terms: They went to fucking college to study film design, they have a fucking degree in this shit. Their statements hold more validity regarding movies than yours ever will. My favs are mostly the british actors, but Cavill is just.. like I said cold. Didn't like him that much as superman either, he was again very cold in those movies aswell. And ultimately a lot of fans now days aren't fans of the source of comic characters but rather the movies and the comparison of other comic movies. Ben Affleck is definitely the best Batman ever. This is a tough role to play: an overtrained detective surrounded by enhanced creatures all with superpowers. I don't see why the critics are all bringing down Ben in this interview. Ok so he is not a natural born salesman so what? Further to the above, the same critics did not seem to mind the Batman killing Superman in Batman vs Superman. What happened in Justice League? I am really happened in Justice league?... Did the so called critics NOT like the opposition of the Batman with Wonder Woman (a very popular character go wonder why?) on the subject of bringing the Superman back to life? And him being right about it? We definitely want to see more of Ben Affleck in the Batman role.

I thought the movie was great! It did get a little messy after a while, but I did not leave the theater bored or disappointed. I just think maybe Zack Snyder should've let someone else take over the directors chair and maybe we would've gotten a more cohesive story. The actors were awesome too. Ben Affleck was a great choice, Henry also great. Jesse a little cartoonish, but hey he wasn't all that bad. Overall the movie was great 7.5/10

Rotten tomatoes is so accurate! Y’know, the way they give Sharknado an 82% which is higher than Forrest Gump, a Best Picture winning movie! And the way they criticize BvS for being a little overstuffed and CGI-ey and having a so-so villain, it's not like they've ever given a fresh rating to a movie like that! *cough* *cough* Avengers: Age of Ultron. So yeah, Rotten Tomatoes for LIFE! :D
