What a good sport! Who would have the balls to read negative comments about themselves and their work and laugh about it- no one has done that- respect affleck! You’re hot and amazing!:)
In hindsight, he probably shouldn't have. You can sense he was nervous when suddenly his speed of words picked up ever higher a notch. Those bad reviews really afflected him and partly contributed him in breaking up with her.
@@LubnaB friend of mine says Ben's the one guy in Hollywood he feels bad for, thinks the man was happy writing Good Will Hunting and hasn't been in the years since.
I really feel for both of them and what they went through at this time but I can’t imagine how it must suck because doing a movie is a lot of work and to put all that work into something and then for it to fail and not be received well kind of breaks my heart to see that even though it’s a part of life really sucks
I'm sorry this had to happen to Bennifer; they should've stuck with the original version and it would've been a hit rather than be watered-down as a romantic comedy.
I heard that that Gigli WAS supposed to be to be a mob thriller as part of director Martin Brest`s original vision, but Sony studios decided against the idea and wanted to cash in on Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez as romantic leads. Martin Brest then retired from directing altogether as a result after Gigli received such bad reviews.
He's so Handsome and very Diplomatic ...2021 guys are you in this channel..they are much matured now to handle all this Papa...razi! There been there, nobody could stop them now not even there Exes .....Dahhh
There were worse movies made and shown AFTER GIGLI, but it was bad, and poor Al Pacino and Christopher Walken were BOTH in the movie. GLITTER was a lot worse, the final episode of SEINFELD was worse, and there are some others.
Cool...Ben mentioned my city of Winnipeg in this interview. He said Jennifer was shooting a movie here. Must have been that dance one with Richard Gere.
Eggs Benedict Cucumberbatch No one cared about the movie, so no one obviously cared to watch Ben talk about it. The low views on this reaffirms how much Gigli sucked.
The theatrical cut of Gigli was actually a good movie. It just became fashionable to bash it. It had some genuinely moving scenes and excellent dialogue.
James Thomison Now we are talking like men. I can give you an answer if you want, but I get the impression you will just argue to not admit you could be wrong, or to save face, etc., but I'm happy to answer your question in light of the belligerence I expect to receive in return. In the theatrical cut -- after a good half hour of running time, where the fake tough guy and macho man, Gigli, just cannot make any headway with the Lopez character, no matter how hard he tries to attract her -- there is a scene where he explodes on a rude driver and bashes his car up with a baseball bat. When he gets back into the car, he brings up a past conversation the Lopez character had with him, where she talked about men and how they don't deal with their problems correctly, and essentially breaks down, but in a very controlled way, and explains he's heartbroken because he's basically in love with the woman sitting right next to him, and wishes he could be with her, but she has no interest in him and it causes him sadness. The combination of great dialogue, great delivery, and fitting score in this scene is actually quite beautiful; for the first time, the viewer feels empathy for the Gigli character (who was this big, dumb, fake tough guy doofus until here), and so does the Lopez character, because he's spilling his guts to her, and has dropped the cheap lines and silly flirting and just bared his soul like a man, and she's left speechless. They changed it up for the video release, but it all came together so well in the theatrical cut.
Back when reviews were honest and stars would (sometimes) admit when their film didn't meet expectations. Now, the critics will give everyone a 10 out of 10 and attacking anyone that had to actually spend money to see a film (or play a game).
Irony of the day (so far) - the movie is playing on some channel right now and I halfway watched several minutes. The scene with Jennifer doing some yoga on a mat while talking to Ben about a woman's body versus a man's body......she is SO GORGEOUS AND SEXY in that scene.....a really beautiful young woman before her ego grew beyond belief.
I tried to watch this stinker last night and it's everything the reviews said. I don't see either as good actors. They played themselves. Flirty Jen and Goofball Ben.
@@theitfactorjameswheezer2852 It's pretty clear, Carl. They can't act. She's desperate to have a man and he just went on national TV and embarrassed Jen Garner so I change my goofball to total jerk!
The worst Ben Affleck area. I love Ben Affleck even his cheesy movie with miss paltrow but boy when he started to dated lopez... You kind knew it will not get a great ending.
