Just discovered the show recently. Things that stand out from the rest of the HGTV home shows... 1. It's not just about fixing up a house for profit. It's about history and continuing the next chapter in a story 2. You can genuinely feel the connection and love between the two of them 3. Learn to value the old and bring it into the new 4. Big things can be accomplished a small step at a time
You had me at "sike", Thank Goodness I am not the only one that still says it. You guys are great:) Everyone was, i enjoyed the camaraderie and beautiful make over of course.
I just love this show! Ben and Erin are so fun and sweet and talented and their passion and caring personalities come through in both their designs and presentations. Their clients are all so blessed to have them! ❤🏚➡️🏡

Love how you take what you have and make it better. I have been doing that with my rental houses in the country for years. It is economical and you never forget the joy you have with that idea. I live in California and want you to build me a house somewhere perhaps Laurel Mississippi.
Looks like it leads into an office, but it would be nice to have it explained. Hopefully it is not the only access! Probably explained better on the full show.
The dining room color matched the woman's shirt who owns the house. For me, I didn't like the dining room color or the fireplace tile; it was waaayyy to Busy. & with the designs of the couch pillows, really Clashed with the fireplace. Living in Mississippi, they're going to want Screening on their porch if they want to sit outside & eat or drink. I did Love💖the little door leading to that room.
That secret panel door, should, IMO, have had the hinges on the inside rather than the outside for a seamless look, and, then very few would have noticed it at all.
Hate all designers setting up living rooms with one chair and one couch. So you can invite a single friend over. Just saw the same thing on Houzz. Owner has brother, wife and 3 kids come over. That one set up round table for 4. Floor eating? Living room possibly room for 4 to sit, since one is a kid. Owner is a known chef.
The MDF is pretty standard roof decking. They did proper waterproofing flashing over it before putting on new shingles. That's pretty much where the water damage was localized, and the rest of the roof was in pretty good shape, so it was a perfectly adequate, budget-friendly solution that will last for years until they can afford to redo the whole roof. :)
Wendy Ramirez I understand what you’re saying and “Storage” might work for you. However this young couple is/was extremely attached to their church where they used to live and this was a very thoughtful addition for them. The house was re-done with them in mind. 😊
I find it hilarious that these shows expect people to believe the home owners spend all this money and have to say or any idea what theyre getting 😂😂😂 yeah okay
