2024 and still listening to these amazing BBC Radio 1 shows! Always love listening to Ben Howard. Music therapy at it's finest. It's a good time to be alive. #Grateful
I'm definitely fanboying here...But I honestly just think that a lot of people that come across Ben Howard on the Music Scene really don't get just how genius and beautiful his music is. There is just so much depth and emotion into EVERYTHING he sings, it's not seen anywhere else and he puts more passion into what he does than iv'e probably heard anywhere else....It's just crazy beautiful and I'm not just talking about this but everything else...I thank him everyday for his beautiful music
I've listened to this song an unhealthy amount of times. It never gets old. I could probably listen to it on a loop (literally like the number 8) until I take my last breath. I. Love. It. Seriously.
+iMertin I listen to him in all moods and have done so for 5 years now hah. But yeah, when I feel down and listen to his darker stuff. Takes me to the darkest place possible, but I kind of like that kind of suffering in some weird way.
Agree 100%. My only conflict is if I should tell other people about him. As much as I want him to be successful and get what he deserves, I don't want to ruin what makes him special by going mainstream.
I don't think I have seen anyone else cover an original song, make it thier own and play it better.. but it's like he does it unpretentious, like most wont see it unless you stay and 'listen'. Just incredible.

It would be nice- Easy money maker for them, too bad it’s all about streaming… albums were something… play in the order and arrangement it was made. When albums had a story, when albums went from one song to the next- (Every Kingdom by Ben Howard- check out also Motopony self titled first album- I swear by it- so beautiful) Now a days some things just seem soooo choppy- cos it’s not for an album, it’s to be heard that day, upload it- stream it- link it- like it- : ) #loveyourneighbor2021
I Just love this. I hadn't heard the Ellie Goulding original but listened to it out of interest. I am amazed by what Ben and his band have done with it. Pure musical genius....what a superb version this is. The guy is pure class. Cannot stop listening to his stuff. Totally hooked.
How does one man have so much talent? He is absolute treasure and a breath of fresh air for the music industry! In other interviews he shows that he doesn't care about the fame of the music industry and in the two shows I've been lucky enough to see him at it is obvious he cares about the music and the fans and that is it. I'm lucky to have encountered him in my lifetime. Long Live Ben Howard and the band.
Ben Howard's voice is so hypnotically relaxing, amazing cover of a great song. Good job! =D Its about time for both Ellie and Ben to collaborate towards one awesome original song, their voices together would make for some eargasmic listening material...
You must be kidding! That is the sickest version of that song that will probably ever exist! I had to watch it at least a dozen times to see everything that was going on instrumentally. Truly unreal. Goulding has a beautiful unique voice but she ain't no Ben Howard.
WOW! what a great job! I absolutely love it when India comes in at @4:06....oh my word....simply breath taking! and the 10 or 15 secs that follows. Ben Howard is great....but India's backup vocals are DELICIOUS!!!
Nice to see India getting some much deserved recognition. This girl plays percussion, guitar, and other instruments too. Beautiful voice I cant get enough and a smile that melts me everytime. What a talent
Awesome yet again...he changes the vibe of this song completely and it works! Stunning and awesome live lounge!! Can't wait till I see Ben and the band again live! True talent!
Omg he sang so well and mixed the two songs it blended into one, it almost seems like a one original perfect piece. I'm glad that Ellie Goulding version exists so I can understand this better.
i first heard Ben's cover & then Ellie's orignial song. i have to say that the cover is WAY BETTER than the original!! so smooth & melodic. awesome artist!
Breathe your smoke into my lungs, In the back of a car with you I stare into the sun, Still not too old to die young, But lovers hold on to everything, And lovers hold on to anything I chase your love around a figure 8, I need you more than I can take, You promise forever and a day, And then you take it all away, And then you take it all away Place a kiss on my cheekbone, When you vanish me, I'm buried in the snow, But something tells me I'm not alone, But lovers hold on to everything, And lovers hold on to anything I chase your love around a figure 8, I need you more than I can take, You promise forever and a day, And then you take it all away, And then you take it all away So lovers hold on to everything, And lovers hold on to anything, So lovers hold on to everything, And lovers hold on to anything I chase your love around a figure 8, I need you more than I can take, You promise forever and a day, And then you take it all away, I chase your love around a figure 8, I need you more than I can take, You promise forever and a day, And then you take it all away, And then you take it all away
I agree. I don't know how in the world anybody could say he has a "disgusting voice" - it's incredibly unique and textured. It has so much depth and soul.
All music in my opinion should be listened to on good headphones / sound systems. It's amazing to see what money can buy in the home theater world too, you will think you know songs until you hear them on a sick system.
this is exactly what I always think of when I hear Ben play. I was always wondering which artists I'd had to tell my children about, like my mom and dad told me about the beatles and queen etc, and now I finally found one.
Ben's voice is simply breath taking. I have never found an artist where I cry in joy at their music but ever since I saw Ben live and hearing perfect, flawless covers like this really pushes my emotions over the edge. Never stop making music, please! Also, India is stunning.
This is the best piece of music I have heard in a long while. I have no idea what the Ellie Goulding version sounds like, and to be honest I daren't listen; I would assume it wouldn't even come close to this. Can't believe I've only just discovered this guy, but my goodness am I grateful I did. Also, if India would care to marry me, that would be just fine. All of the live videos I have seen of theirs are fantastic - must get myself along to a show soon. Well done Devon!
Every generation has an artist that defines it. We have waited, 90's Kids, and now it looks like we may finally have that one act we can tell our tell our kids about,
