Ben Kweller is a singer-songwriter who previously found fame as part of the band Radish. His heartland hooks and folksy flourishes made fans out of several artists, and Kweller soon found himself touring with the likes of Juliana Hatfield, Guster, Kristin Hersh, and Evan Dando.
His debut album is easily my favourite of them all (and they are all really good!). This song really shows his skill in songwriting and song composition. A real favourite of my kids, my wife and myself. This is for them... x

I remember burning this version of the song on a cd and playing it on repeat while riding the bus home from high school.. those were the days.

Loved this song since it came out on the album (bought after seeing them open for dmb.) I knew right away this was a different version. Surprised the album version wasn't the top search on youtube. I was just trying to get my friends, who might not have heard this yet, to check it out. Didn't expect to find a new version of the song, much less as the top video. This version is awesome. Don't know where you got it but cheers, James.

If you read the conversations below, this version was released on the first version of the album. Think it was remixed for subsequent versions (or something like that as the other versions don't sound like this one. This was taken straight from my CD copy. Glad to you enjoyed it.

This version was taken from the CD i bought upon the album release waaaaay back in 2002 and sounds different to more recent issues i've heard. Piano more prominent in this version and i think its sounds much much better for it. Haven't heard any other versions but, IMO, this is the original and best released version.

you're right. i have the cd also hahaha. this is for sure the original version. In E minor. a lot of versions came up after in D minor. 1 tone down for he can sing more comfortably. and besides, the original starts playing a preparation in B before going to E minor, like this one!

Is this the album version raised a whole step or another version? Because I heard this version first years ago and now when I hear the album version I don't like it because it's lower....so if you're gonna post songs on RU-vid do it in a way that keeps it in the key it's suppose to be in or don't do it because otherwise you're gonna ruin songs for certain people.

As discussed previously, thos was the original version from a first pressing/release of the album. I picked up the album as it was released and was the only version i knew until i heard a later version which was obviously different. I think this version is better and will be, in my opinion, the best version, hence why i uploaded it. If its not YOUR favourite then thats fine, dont listen to it and enjoy your own version. Nobody is trying to ruin anyones perceptions of what is a great BK song.

This actually isn't the original, I know where you are coming from, i listened to the original, 20 years ago, as a teenager and this sounds like it, but the drums mid song and even the background at the very end were not in the original. I pulled out the original cd, from his concert, and listened to it to verify. This is like 99% of the original, but not it. I'll upload the original to RU-vid and see if they take it down.
