I remember downloading and listening to this on my purple iPod nano, on repeat, it was my favourite song. But being a kid, I didn't know anything about it; the song, the lyrics, the name of the song itself, or the artist. All I could remember was the video, like a cruel fever dream. One day, a few years ago, my brother mentioned remembering this song, and we eventually found it again. It was like being met with an old friend. I love this song so much, it brings back such a comforting nostalgia of my childhood.
You were a hoot opening in Columbus, Ohio MANY years ago man☺️ Can’t recall if it was Newport Music Hall or Promowest Pavilion (those were the good days when I went to all the shows). I remember it was your little sister’s birthday- you called her back in Australia and held out your phone for the audience to sing Happy Birthday🎉 So sweet
how has this not got more views, likes, comments? this has been a go to on my playlist for years. first time in a long time i have looked it up on youtube though and i am absolutely shocked. i thought even if it wasnt popular it would still have at least a couple of millions of views. ODD. edit: ah, i see. it was only added to youtube last year. that explains it.
When I was 3, I must have heard this in my grandpa's kitchen, around about when the song came out. For whatever reason, I thought my grandpa sang this song for years to come, haha Always imagined him dancing around to it in a music studio
cause it realised this song wasn’t found in 2021 so catch my disease is now in bewarence of its piano solo every time I heard it in that part of intro remember
Great tune. I saw him many moons ago open for Rooney. He explained that this was the song that was supposed to be the "hit" but it did not do as well as the record company thought it would. So he asked the crowd to cheer for the tune and go wild as if it was the number 1 song and it played at your prom or wedding. He started the song and the crowd went wild.
Pretty sure this song _did_ play at my parents' wedding. Pretty much any music that ended up on the Triple J's Hottest 100 lists between 1997 and 2008 was music they listened to.
I always thought it was a shout out to The Glass House, a music venue in Pomona that a ton of great indie acts come through, especially back in this era.
I’m watching the movie, just friends, with Ryan Reynolds. There’s a scene where Ryan walks into the bar and the song is playing and I totally remember this song and I haven’t heard it in so long I was like what is this song. So I found this video and I cannot believe the guy in the video sings this song there’s just no way. My mind is absolutely blown. It’s gotta be an actor.
Ben Lee was signed to the Beastie Boys "GRANDE ROYAL LABEL" and he ended up marrying Adrock's first wife.. "And I hear Barnsey on the radio.. and that's the way I like it." Check out his ARIA performance of this..Australian references..was awesome! ❤❤❤
This would trigger the woke brigade if it were released nowadays, they would lecture you about cultural appropriation and scream at you to wear a m @ s k lol
